      You will have your chance to buy it again at 50 after Corona is gone and all non vegans go back to meat, that is unless BYND learns how to grow employed vegetarians to keep up current demand. Most overpriced stock on the market currently.

      @@natevanderw The trend is the opposite of what you're saying. More and more people buy plant-based alternatives instead of meat, dairy, fish, and eggs. The stocks go up and down, that's natural, but if you take a step back you will see an obvious trend going up. I don't see how it will go down to 50 ever again, especially when Corona isn't planning to leave anytime soon.

    Want to bring margins down? how about a dehydrated patty or mix that the consumer simply adds water like they would cook other healthy foods like beans, rice, flour, oatmeal. we already have examples of this model.
    instead Beyond Meat is shipped frozen. imagine how much more expensive that is.
    this product would be a fraction of the cost of regular meat if it was shipped dry not frozen.
    and it would help the story of lowering the carbon foot print.

      @@rainmaker3700 yeah I brought this up to their public relations team and they refused to consider it or forward it to their development team for an answer if, how they can do this.
      problem I I have with this company is they are too purists. with their organic, gluten free to pander to the perfectionists. and their price reflects this.
      they think if they have a dehydrated version, then they won't get that important space in the frozen section of the store. and their product will be on the oatmeal isle.
      this is so stupid of them. people don't care where they get the product. they care that they can't afford it.

    even when meat prices are rising, beyond meat is still way more expensive. it typically sells for around $14/lb. typically at the grocery is sold in half pound packages (2 quarter lb patties) for 6.99. their prices are still way out of reach for the majority of people.on fixed incomes. and in my city, it is never selling. that section always looks untouched in the meat department.

    I understand why Beyond won’t do Genetic Engineering but I really think they should. Engineering the DNA allows the plants to have a lot more nutrients and flavour in them and, despite claims, GMOs aren’t any less safe than organic plants.
    Beyond Meat’s brand rides on the quality of its products and GMOs would help them with that. I don’t know what the trade-off is between pandering to anti-GMO morons and having better R&D.

    I think beyond meat should offer a fake meat option that has GMOs, there really has been no research showing GMOs harm people. Giving an option would allow more choices for consumers. I think they'll do well either way, but they'll be missing a market.

      Animal meat is paid for through tax subsidies and the environmental damage they cause leaves a bill with the EPA. It's hard for BYND to compete when they aren't in a free market economy, eventually they'll get their costs down, then it's sayonara to animal ag's majority.

      But not water, Cali has a drought & it takes 1799 gallons of water to make 1 pound of beef, so pretty soon beef will either cost a fortune or not be available, very similar to ICE cars. Its all about what is sustainable and affordable.

      It isn’t going to replace beef but with an ever growing population we need to have options. I don’t believe it is beef but honestly it isn’t bad. Burgers w/lettuce and tomato plus sauces and trust me it tastes pretty good. They are to expensive now!
