I think i can forget about Fender already.. i dont know why i already started in love with the Ernie Ball series.. such a great guitar.
I've owned, and since sold, a JP15 but I still own a Luke III HSS. Music Man really makes quality guitars. The necks and fretwork just feel really nice.
I have a Stingray RS in stealth black. I changed the pickguard to tort and pickups to SD alnico 2 pros. Its my number 1. Ernie Ball Music Man makes the best necks in the business.
How is the tuning stability using the trem?

Very nice! I have a couple Sterlings. (Iâm not a professional like you) Well, Iâm a professional registered nurse, but not a professional musician. lol They are impressive so I can only imagine the real deal.
I had a sterling SR I gave to my brother. The pickups are so beefy and spanky it's incredible, I've been chasing that neck pickup tone ever since. The neck even on the cheap ones is phenominal.
Sterlings are honestly nowhere near the standard of the real thing

Bro! To have a music man guitar and to not use the tremolo is like having a Ferrari that you only drive 55 mph. The Music Man tremolos are so comfortable and they stay in tune like a champ. I would highly recommend you give it a shot! Great playing. Beautiful guitarđđœđ
I've had my JP16 for years now. It will live forever in my hands! Its never let me down on a gig. I have a Sterling as a backup.
I love music man necks I had a jp and loved it I only sold it because it looked black to red sparkle sunburst in the music store but when I got it home it looked purple, not that thereâs a problem with purple and it didnât stop me from playing it for years but eventually sold it to a good home but I miss it. Good choice R.j hope it brings you happiness.

Looks and sounds like an excellent 'toolkit' kind of guitar, a solid working guitar for studio or writing. Great demo, R.J.
Pickup to string gap is 4/32nds both treble side and bass side for the bridge and 6/32nds treble to bass side for the neck pick up...that's the Music Man set up spec for that guitar..if you wanted to adjust it to our stock set up when it leaves the factory..
That bridge pickup sound amazing through overdrive. Like Van Halen.

I agree with you about the pickups. I had an earlier model and loved everything about it, except the pickups - sounded thin and a little dull.

I adore Music-Man designs and quality and really want another one. However.....the 10" radius continues to be a deal breaker. Same with PRS.....why is it so hard for these guys to offer at least a 12" radius? Owned a Luke 2, Axis SS, & Silhouette Special......sold them all eventually. Would love to own a Cutlass or Stingray model......but damn that "10 radius sucks. imo. The Luke 2 was pretty good.....but the EMG's & vintage size frets kept it from being a keeper. The Luke 3 has better frets & pup choices for sure.
They will Bring it to Life, no one makes Pickups like, Kurtis Lamberton.

Hi! Thanks for sharing! Great review! Did you changed the pickups? I read on your Sweetwater review that you raised the Pickups and lower the action a bit but I am wondering in how much did it changed or finally you decided to swap them for another thing? Currently I'm on the waiting list to get that one. I would definitely would like the option to split the coils to have a "single" pickup in the neck (kind of like the Dustin Kensrue model).

Really cool review! Currently I have a jp15 and the neck feels right for my small hands but I have my eyes on the sting ray, do you think the stingray âs neck is confortable / small like a jp15 or at least in the same world?? I donât want big necks
Any demo of a guitar with a trem bridge should demonstrate the tuning stability. Otherwise, nice guitar, good demo.
Actually, I didnât think the pickups sounded too bad, but I agree that it could use some humbuckers with a little more âoomph.â
Can you tell me what we are hearing, as in, is this recoded straight to your DAW via the Two Notes (or some other outboard mix)? Thanks!

anyone think a 9v battery (24v mod) would fit in the 3 way switch cavity if I moved the 3 way switch down where the tone knob is?
I LOVE Music Man guitars. Have yet to find a guitar that feels better to me. I have a Cutlass RS HSS and an Axis Super Sport (so far).
Both of mine are light (around 7 pounds). How much does that Stingray weigh?
Did you ended up swapping pickups? If yes what did you went for? I bought stingray over a year ago, love the quality and neck feel but Iâm a little underwhelmed with the sound, Iâve played with the pickup height but it still sounds a little tiny :/ thanks!

$2700 and it needs decent pickups. A tip- when Sweetwater all of a sudden has ONE guitar available, after stating the guitar was a month or two away......it's likely a return. Of course, they charge full price for it.
It's quite possible. If it was a return, it was still new condition. Plastic on the pickguard, case candy envelope still sealed.
Do you notice the slimmer nut width? Is it more cramped when chording?
It's slimmer feeling than something like a Fender, but it's still comfortable for my hands.

Nice bro! Yeah I was looking at that model too at Sweetwater, but I decided to go with the silver burst aka "The Governor" color one that they're only making 75 of. I had planned on swapping out at the very least the bridge pickup anyway.
The gain is like the typical AC/DC sound...

If I may say, the sounds seems to be not in your favor. It is 'thick' sounding.
I had same issue with my other guitar, however after an EQ pedal after my drive pedal, the 'thickness' is well control.

I have a music man RS as well 2016 model. the pickups are def not the best for a $2500 guitar.. Seymour Duncan SH-8n Invader Neck Humbucker Pickup spanks ;)

Cool color. I have to admit EBMM are high quality. However, there's always one thing about their guitars, regardless of the model, that could feel/sound/look better in my opinion when I play them.
So you find the radius too small and you'll change the pickups... basically you don't like the 2 things that make a guitar đ
The body is just cosmetic, sure you can start with that and change the rest...
The radius I'm used to now, but I've got new pickups on the way. I'm a serial pickup changer.
