In this video we take a look around the Village, including Flamborough Castle, St Oswalds Church, Seabirds Inn, the high street and more.
Flamborough Head: This is the prominent headland that juts out into the North Sea. It's famous for its chalk cliffs, which rise steeply from the sea and provide spectacular views. The headland is home to two iconic lighthouses: the Flamborough Head Lighthouse and the Flamborough North Landing Lighthouse.

Heritage and Culture: Flamborough has a rich history, with evidence of human habitation dating back thousands of years. The area has seen various civilizations, from ancient settlers to Vikings. The Flamborough Heritage Coast Visitor Centre provides insights into the local history and natural environment.
Outdoor Activities: The Flamborough coastline offers opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, birdwatching, sea kayaking, and fishing. The dramatic landscapes and sea views make it a popular destination for those seeking adventure.
Flamborough Village: While Flamborough Head is the most well-known part of the area, Flamborough village itself is a charming settlement that serves as a base for exploring the surrounding natural beauty. The village has a few shops, pubs, and accommodations for visitors.
Local Festivals and Events: Flamborough hosts various events and festivals throughout the year, celebrating local culture, history, and wildlife. These events often bring the community together and attract visitors from nearby areas.

At last, someone's filmed Flamborough village. It's a place I have holidayed near and visited many times. The South Landing nature trail is a hidden gem. My parents and I try to go there at least once per year.

Thank you for filming this. Especially the walk through St Oswalds Church grounds. My grandparents lived in Flamborough and I spent many happy days and weeks visiting over the years. I still go when I can to put some flowers down for them in the church yard. A beautiful village for sure. If you ever go back, you should go to South Landing too.

Well, that made my day. I have been doing a lot of family research as my family are from North Yorkshire and one relative in particular has really interested me and she lived in Flamborough and is buried at St. Oswalds. So thank you for the church walk through! 😊

Apart from the traffic the village hasn't changed that much in 60 years. I think Longdon's was an antique shop or expensive trinket shop back in the 70s, but i could be wrong. The bulls eye glass windows fasinated me as a kid.

Great to see someone filming flamborough. My mate owns one of those terraced houses on post office street, the 5th one on the right just as you began walking on the street. I've had some fantastic holidays in that little fisherman's cottage. Love this place ❤️ 💕

Its a killer going down those steps into the bay but much worse coming back up admittedly its a lovely bay but i prefer North landing easier access and reminds me of the med if the weather is right ,the other lighthouse is the chalk tower further back but i dont know if it was ever used ,then the building on the cliff tops i think is the fog horn it could be heard in Bridlington back in the day ,cant recall how many times ive actually been up the lighthouse to look at the massive bulb but i think it has been changed now so it only lights up rather than sweep over the bay .

More memories of my childhood scrambling around on the rocks of North and South Landings. I was surprised at how dark (seaweed presumably) the rocks now look as they were mainly chalk white then. Is this yet another indication of global warming causing more rapid growth of the weed ? Oh, what has man done to this wonderful Earth !!
