Delicious! I love sweet potato leaves. I planted cuttings 2 weeks ago from a bundle of the veggie that I bought at the wet market. Getting bushier now, soon harvestable. I normally stir fry or cook as a watery soup or cook it in creamy coconut milk. When stir fry, I stir fry the leaves in pounded garlic-onion-chili-dried anchovies (or dried shrimp)-shrimp paste. These stuff coarsely pounded. As a watery soup, boil water till boiling, add salt, sugar, stock cubes (beef or chicken or fish), onion, garlic, chili and finally the veggie (I seperated leaves from stems and leaf stalks, add the stalk/stems first, then leaves). For coconut milk gravy, just add the coconut milk to the watery soup.

Thank you for this video, it was very informative and I'm going to look for these greens when I'm visiting Florida [I'm from Canada]. Also I'm wondering, can these greens be used in a tossed salad, or do they need to be cooked? Thanks!

She did say they have higher amounts of oxalates than other vegetables/ leaves so cooking will reduce that amount. If you only sprinkle some fresh leaves on top of a salad as a garnish I suppose but it's probably best to cook them. Oxalates are somewhat controversial but they say that too much causes stones.

Hi! So you can eat the leaves and their stems BUT can you eat the vine part as well? I do not want to waste any part of the plant if I do not have to. I read something about it being poisonous?
