@@THECHOSENONE-bk7xg Nah, kittens can really be super loud. When one of my cats was a kitten, she could meow very loud. Demanding attention and being my shadow. She is actually less loud now as an adult. Even if she is still very talkative.

One with a dog, some people are allergic to cats but I'll take both lol, feel bad for the people who can't have either
My longhaired dachshund is about the right size and he's cuddlier than most of my feline roommates have been. Except for Molly who would have crawled into son's skin with him if she could have. He was her person from kittenhood. I was glad her brother Murphy was an equal opportunity cuddler because Molly Cat pretty much ignored me. Those two goofy cats--we never stopped laughing at their antics! So attached to each other. They were a privilige to raise. But so has been this smart, stubborn, handsome sausage! The instincts of this dog BLOW MY MIND. My first dachshund experience, he showed up on my doorstep young and dumped. He was so charming! My best pal (and cuddle buddy) for 8+ years.

Hard to ignore cries like that! Little bundles of preciousness with fully-functional and very sharp defense weaponry already on board. I curse the allergies that have ended my kitty friendships. My longhaired dachshund loves to cuddle and he's a pretty good substitute but I still can't get him to purr. And there's really nothing like burying your face in a kitty belly--they smell so good, so soft!
Just to be that internet person with unsolicited advice, lol: did you know you can get desensitisation treatment for allergies? I developed a cat allergy when I'd had my cats for 7yrs, & I did NOT accept the suggestion to _give my babies away._ I think it was an injection every month for a year- I forget cos it was 2004, but the allergy hasn't returned, so it was worth every cent to still be a crazy cat lady 20yrs later... Your daschund sounds like a little cutie tho! Tiny snuggle-pup!
