I'm not sure I understood why you disengaged the gimbal control of the JZT30..........how did that help with what you were doing? And thanks for mentioning that the yaw rate slows down when zoomed in. I noticed that the other day but didn't know what was going on, I thought there was a problem.

I wouldn’t say it helped necessarily. I think I was having some issues on this particular night with the light.

Perhaps you can shed some light (pun intended) on an issue I'm having re: the JZT30................I'm getting very poor SAT acquisition and home point lock time when the JZT30 light is mounted, 10 min on my little test I conducted this morning, with a continuous weak or oscillating strong/weak GNSS signal, only maintaining 10 to 12 SATS, maybe bumps to 13 then back down. Without the light, I get a home point lock within seconds at the same spot in my backyard, wide open rural space, lots of SATS. I need to know if this is something you are experiencing with your M3T. Thanks.

Yes sir, it does happen. I would say most of my searches start in the daylight and I’ve already got satellites acquired before I change batteries and add the spotlight. But on occasion, not always, when starting off with the light it does take a while. I have done deer recoveries with other pilots and sometimes it was me taking a few minutes to get a home point and sometimes it was him. So I would say, it’s normal mostly. Be patient. You could try another test, start up without the light, gets 15 satellites or so, shutdown and add the light, power back up and confirm if the sats are retained(they usually are after a quick battery change). That is potentially a faster work around.

@@STRThermal That's reassuring that it doesn't appear to be a glitch just with my unit. I will give the test you mention a try later today and see what happens.....thanks.

I tried that work-around and I dd get a faster home point, not as fast as without the light, but it was better. Then came back for a battery switch and it took a bit longer but not really annoyingly long. So I hope that's in line with your experience as well. @@STRThermal

Are you turning the controller off between battery changes? If so, don't. My experience is that once I've already had lots of satellites(without the light mounted) and I battery swap and add the light, I can be in the air very quick and still have some 20+ satellites.

@@STRThermal I believe I have at times and other times I have not turned off the controller.......I will keep that in mind, thank you.
