- I was asked by one of you lovely folks during my livestream to react to Lorna Shore's song "To the Hellfire". I had absolutely no idea what I was in for, and by jove, it did not disappoint. I love this kind of music despite now knowing much about deathcore. This is intense. Thank you for the recommendation and please suggest some more in the comment section.

There's a video by The Charismatic Voice where they do a nasal endoscopy and he's (Will Ramos) screaming and you see all the vocal cord action. It's incredible
I saw that, impressive stuff.
Was just gonna say this! Really cool video :)
Just what I wanted to write here. 😁 Lorna Shore is not my source of cake but Ramos' mastery of voice is incredible!

Sounds badass. Will check it out. 🙌🏾
It's stairway.. TO THE HELLFIRE! Nailed it once again Justin :D
That part made me giggle :)
That one blew me away!
You can see and hear Will Ramos do a sing through on his own YT channel. He tours this with no problems and all his vocals are harsh. The Charismatic Voice had Will looked at with a throat cam in an academic setting. He's got no damage and is apparently a "unicorn". He's also just a great fun guy with the enthousiasm of an ADD puppy (in the best possible way)
Golden Retriever vibes
This is required viewing tbh.
Lorna shore ft Justin Hawkins would be an amazing collab

Ahhhhhhh he stopped before the best part. The last bit of vocals before the final breakdown is pure insanity.
why :(
My thoughts exactly… I wanted/needed to see Justin’s face when that final vocal came on.
As a guitarist him pausing like 5 times on the solo just....... AAAAAAAAAA!
@@followingfigures4738 seeing him pause every 5 seconds bugged me lol just LISTEN
i watched to whole video waiting for that moment.
I love how you can sit with your acoustic guitar, no pick, just completely raw sound and decipher a key, melody, and scale of whatever it is your listening to, be it thrash metal, pop, or w/e. It’s brilliant and inspiring. Love this channel so much.
He even nails the drumming with his voice, Justin knows more than just classic falsetto and guitar shredding apparently!
Subscribe to Rick Beato's channel too then if you appreciate this type of thing. He's like the master and according to him he doesn't have perfect pitch - very impressive!
Very incredible
Wow, deciphering keys and melodies without a pick is epic!

The opera singer, Elizabeth Zharoff, talked him into letting a throat specialist shove a camera down his throat so Elizabeth could observe what was happening to his vocal cords when he sings. The video of their trip to the doctor's office is on her CZcams channel, The Charismatic Voice.
I think about this video OFTEN. Makes me wanna learn to scream even more so. The talent 🔥
She didn't have to talk him into anything all she did was mention it and Will was like tell me what I need to do to make this happen
I love how seriously and sincerely he approaches the video. Many would not give this style of music a second glance.
For me he nails it with 'it's so powerful' if you can get past your initial shock deathcore is the ultimate power fantasy
Only true musicians can recognize and understand the intrinsic value in every genre of music. Even as a piano player, there's so many lessons I can take from Lorna Shore's tracks.
Like the genre or not, there's so much mastery of their craft packed in this that a musical person of any kind cam pick some of it.
It's not just brutal, it's brutal in a very innovative and skilled way.
I'm not a fan of deathcore, but I do appreciate Lorna Shore, and Will seems like such a sweet guy, and his clean vocals are beautiful
Wait... He does clean vocals?
@@CesarIsaacPerez Here ya go czcams.com/video/87xeb4DTIcY/video.html
Lorna shore has been the only deathcore band that I've been able to fall in love with. Pain remains, despite being out for only 3 months... is my most listened to album this year
I absolutely adore Will and Lorna Shore. His Sleep Token cover was so good. I'm so glad he helped give ST the attention they deserve.
Props to whoever recommended this. I've never given two craps about deathcore, but their sad and melodic take on the genre lured me in and I can't wait to see them live.
Kudos to Justin for reading comments and listening to us..
Saw them live in Seattle, they're amazing! Gl!
You’re going to have so much fun
Give a watch of The Charismatic Voice's videos of Lorna Shore. Either To The Hellfire or The Pain Remains. She dives into
the lyrics, the video themes, the vocal techniques, all of it. And it is great indeed!
The sad sounding parts are the black metal influences and the symphonic parts go hand in hand with that to make everything dark/sad. It really does go well with how Lorna Shore does it.
I am by no means calling myself an expert on black metal, but for more: check out The Halo Effect and Gaerea
I’d love to hear your breakdown of “Pain Remains: Dancing Like Flames”. A deathcore ballad lol
Yeah would be amazing.

Get this comment to the top! An amazing trilogy
Under-rated comment for sure.
wanted to say the exact same thing. will is incredible
I grew up listening to Darkness, Queensryche, Rush, guys like that, because of my dad, and once I found my own tastes , I delved pretty deep into the death core, death metal scene. So genuinely, hearing a musician from the era that got me into rock, positively talk about the music I chose to enjoy, I gotta say, it’s, weirdly, cathartic, almost made me giddy. Haha
Finally someone mentioning the snare drum during the breakdown! That's the most satisfying sound ever🤤
Wow Justin musical sound effects are beautiful, love it!!
I really loved hearing you break down metal like this. There needs to be more.
this video has to be my most favourite video you've done! all the little goblin voices your doing in between are absolutely cracking me up
Fuck yeah mate
I love that you referenced SikTh, such a great band!
It's amazing the progression in metal in the last decade. The new understanding in vocals, the techniques to do the harsh vocals safely. It's incredible. And the musicianship is next level.
"That's not gunna get on the radio...or in Walmart. But its gone straight into my heart" *grins* haha I love you for introducing me to so much great new music!
always impressed by how open minded you are - you are a huge inspiration Justin
Will is just the 9 demons combine on stage but a cute puppy when hanging out with friends 🤘😂
and a tea addict too haha
Happy new year Justin and the Hawking's family.Hope you had a fantastic Christmas 💜💫💜
OMG Hair and outfit 100% chefs kiss! Stunning!
when the breakdown hits it literally sounds like just a black hole. I'm not generally a huge deathcore fan but Lorna Shore bring enough black and death metal and just...complete butchery to the table I kinda gotta love them. Will Ramos is a monster.
I was waiting for Justin's reaction to what happens the bar after he stopped it early.
Love your reaction....keep up the good work
Subscribed👍
Justin seems like such a chilled guy. Massively successful musician in his own rite but has an almost childlike excitement when hearing something new that he doesn’t completely understand.
I hope he does some collaborations with other channels, metal musicians and him together would be awesome.
He is obviously incredibly knowledgeable in general terms and sees what musicians are doing so quickly, even though it’s not in his genre. Great to watch.
Instantly the best Lorna Shore review of all time. God I love this channel! Thanks for 18 minutes of laughter Justin!
Stairway to the hellfire ... almost knocked myself off my chair with laughter. Great video thanks Justin 🤘
lorna shore became one of my favorite bands i discovered in 2022 so i’m stoked to see you take a look at em. always interesting to hear your opinions on vocals!
I was watching a news report before this video, and I'd forgotten I left the playback speed at x1.5 ... I was very impressed by how quickly you were vocalising the drum beats and the rar-rar-raw voice ... but even at normal speed you're still doing the drums at an amazing speed :D
Thanks for positive thoughts towards a genre of music that's heavier than either of us typically listen to (or perform) ...
Gotta say when the singles were coming out for their album i was worried it'd get pretty boring but as a whole album it's great start to finish definitely killed my worries.
The Pain Remains Trilogy is basically a Deathcore balad
Yay so glad you checked this out!! I was one of the people who suggested it to you in your last live stream. Thanks Justin ❤
Would love it if you did one of my songs! I saw you not so long ago at the observatory in Santa Ana. You did a hand stand and clapped your feet! Brilliant!
oh hi mick)

I love your sound effects that you make with your voice! Great episode !
And your eyes are so beautiful ❤
My favorite CZcamsr and my favorite band!!! Today is going to be a great day!
The Darkness to Lorna Shore pipeline is real.
i'm seeing this live at download in a few months, cant wait!
Particularly hilarious review, always a bit tongue in cheek about the brilliance of a piece.
The reaction I've been waiting for 👌It was great ringing in the new year with "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" tonight, especially because I spend the entirety of December trying to sneak in Christmas Time(Don't Let the Bells End) as my wife has no taste in music and insists on avoiding it at all costs. Happy new year good Sir, loved seeing the channel grow through the year 👍
I bet your mom is happy to have you home!! Death metal and all, lol!! Happy New Year, JH!! ❤️
Definitely one of my favourite bands just now and your reaction to it all is excellent!
yesss, finally, thank you friend Justin x
I’ve seen these guys live, they’re legit. I was crying during their set. Just knowing Will can nail these vocals even more so live is insane!!
Glad you discovered this mental band. Never ever heard a band that are SOOO hard but can still do beautiful synth/pad melodies and make emotional songs. Kinda unique, check out their "Pain Remains" trilogy, dare you not to cry!
I'd not heard of you or your channel until now. I love Lorna Shore and love watching reactions to this song. I just want to say you are instantly likeable and super entertaining to watch!
Loving’ the scarf! Very dapper 💕👌
And the background fits so well.
Amazing to see Justin cover Lorna Shore. On the death core train, would love to see an analysis and comparison of Slaughter to Prevail next as they are more rhythmic and groovey, but still brutal.
Please interview him! When he's not unleashing demons on a microphone, his personality is legendary!
I think this is my favourite video of yours so far! The sound effects and faces as Justin tries to sing along are the funniest thing ever 😂
Love your reaction :)
Love your jacket n scarf 😍 ❤️
Great show as always. Will Ramos does some great interviews about his vocal sound and how he achieves it. Worth a watch.
I did not expect it here, wow. Excited
I love You man! You're the best in reviews 😍
As someone who has watched the channel for a long time and as someone who is well into metal (despite not liking Lorna Shore), I'm stupidly pleased that you're covering stuff like this.
Thumbs up for the Sikth mention.
Their new stuff is so intense it just makes me cry my eyes out....
Saw their Christmas show here in NJ a few weeks ago and it was fantastic
This might be the best reaction I've seen to this song. Thanks Justin 🤘😎
I'd love to watch a video of Justin Hawkins and 'The Charismatic Voice' discussing the new music and vocal styles they've discovered during their CZcams channel journeys.
This is literally the best video on CZcams I've seen in months. Although this is a somewhat clouded representation of blackened/symphonic deathcore, Lorna Shore are easily one of the most revered deathcore bands of late and their symphonic influence just adds exponential depth to their sound. I trust you are familiar with Elizabeth Zharoff, aka The Charismatic Voice? Last year she built a beautiful relationship with Lorna Shore's vocalist Will Ramos and featured him and the band in multiple videos. In the most intriguing video of this pairing, she uploaded a video of a surgical camera being placed into Will's throat to record visuals of his physical creation of his amazing vocals. With the hairstyle and the boyish looks, he appears more of a pop or alt pop musician, yet the music he creates with his mouthpiece proves him to be an absolute vocal demon. One of my favorite videos of him released last year was one in which he had to listen to clips of different extreme metal tracks and decide whether the vocalizations were created by man or animal. That video shows an intimate view of his incredible personality. Anyway, do a little digging and a bit of research, watch Elizabeth's videos with him and just enjoy the amazing gift that he has given the world with his musical gifts.
ALL👍THXS for riding again Justin much appreciated

Love this ❤️
Holy smokes I recommended this.... I don't know if I was the only one but damn, good on you for listening to this!
Thank you!
@@JustinHawkinsRidesAgain contortionist - language is amazing. Tigran Haymasan - drip insane pianist. Sungazer - electro this is done by another CZcamsr Adam Nealy and is astounding in its complexity. If you want a great band to add to your Playlist - arcane roots - they are not around anymore, but my word did they make great music. Cheers
Not my cuppa tea....but NEVER deflects from the great review and charm of Justin. Cheers from Melbourne Australia. 🙏🌏💙
I like the death metal elements. I like the variety in Will’s vocals. But for me, I’d probably prefer other songs of theirs better personally.
Love the analysis -- and the fact you highlight the virtuosity of the drummer in this song.
Had a great time enjoying this profound analysis... Great job, thanx. 🤣
Never in my life did I expect to watch Justin Hawkins react to /vibe along with Lorna Shore...
Awww...you stopped right before the best part. His pig squeals are the best. 👍 I'm 53 and my daughter got me into Lorna Shore. If you go back and listen this song straight through, it's just genius. Also, I recommend "Sun Eater". That's my favorite song. I loved your reaction ! You had me laughing out loud several times. 😂
This is why you're one of the best on CZcams. Genuinely interested and enjoy all kinds of music, get the daftness of some things but still enjoy it. Love it.
Justin, I'm happy to see that you like metal. I watch your channel all the time and appreciate your musical insights, but I'm happy to see you cover something i actually would listen to. cheers!
love me some Will Ramos and Lorna Shore! Thanks for the take, Justin :)
Justin, you should check out their album Pain remains too. It's brilliant.
Really enjoyed your reaction!
I laughed so man times! You are awesome.
Not heard these before. Worth a listen as they remind me of Cradle of Filth (another Suffolk band) who I've loved for 3 decades.
The first time I heard LS, I literally thought that this is what Dani wants to sound like when he grows up
@@hdervish2497it's mean to poke fun at the vertically challenged
I rather listen to your interpretation of their sound then the band themselves. 😁
One of my favorite people reviewing one of the best bands in the current musical landscape. This made my night!
Fantastic...I liked everything in this video Justin.....
Lorna Shore's Pain Remains I is a must watch.
deffo
Missed the part where he literally sounds like a rabid animal wretching at the end. Dicky Allen from Infant Annihilator also has some really gnarly vocals that are similar to Will's, also if you like drums Mike Heller from Malignancy is hell on the kit, and there are videos here on youtube of just him doing drum playthroughs if the music is a little too harsh.
Loved your music since the Darkness, that’s how I found out about you homie. Lorna shore is kinda like my bread and butter type music and the Darkness is like my happy place music in most cases, so it’s nice to see you review it and actually appreciate it. Your as always a golden god of music brother!
You have no clue how long I've been waiting to see you take a look at this.
My best bud produces these guys, awesome to see his and the band’s success
You should check out their song The Pain Remains part 1. Its brings tears to eyes. Love your channel.
Love how hes so chill and accepting of death core
Finally!!!! Been waiting for this. Definitely watch Will's one-take, too!
I love how even though a lot of the songs Justin reviews aren't really his style he respects the artistic vision and can always see what the band or artist is trying to achieve
Guitars everywhere you go must be handy!
didn't expect you to be a fan! Also surprised to hear you mention Sikth! As others have and will say, there's a video showing what's actually happening when he makes these sounds, which is pretty cool to watch
Perfect 🖤
Check out the Charismatic Voice asap to see a doctor take a video of his throat, its nuts.
The snare sounds even better on the new album. The crack on Sun/Eater is godlike
Love this band and love Mr. Ramos. This is my go to music in the gym at the moment.
Came across your version of The Sparks' 'this town ain't big enough for the both of us' today (no pun intended) 🤭
Awesome rendition. Love their participation in the video, and Phil Taylor too!
(Fun fact-he lived on a posh estate near Nantwich, and had a dartboard logo on his drive)
Not seen with my own eyes-yet.
Keep on rockin!
P.s. your videos make my day x thank you
Vocal chords made of diamonds 👏
I love this song by Lorna Shore although I have heard the vocals be described as "Mordor metal" for a laugh and I don't think it's too far wrong 😂
Not sure that I was expecting you to like it though! Glad I got more insight into why I like it so much from this video
it's stairway! this was another great video. thank you
WOW!!! Love it!!!
Were you knocking about when Klaus Nomi was performing? His final performances, when he knew his fate, are some of the most powerful and weird. Would love to hear what you think. Thanks mate!
Pain Remains I: Dancing like Flames is still my favourite song and despite the fact that you can’t hear most of the lyrics, it’s poetry 😍
I can’t deal with music that I can’t sing along to. However, I’m here for any topic and I’m all ears for whatever you’ve got to say. My favourite part of every morning is watching these videos! Thanks
You are so positive! I'd rather listen to your interpretation of the song, than the song.
(Love the vibe of that corner of your parent's home.)
