THIS is how you make an instructional video! No filler. No wasted time.
I started with your neck exercises, then your overweight and decommissioned program which has worked wonders for me. I'm 67 yr old female, had a subdural hematoma drained and even after 18 months of hospital physio I couldn't walk without feeling like I was about to do a face plant. I am now standing tall, and able to walk properly. I started with a milk jug, progressed to kettlebell and baseball bat and now have ordered my Indian clubs and am waiting for the exercises.
Sounds awesome, how you doing now?
Follow along?? I remember the 3-min workout when Mark said “I’m sure you’re all smart enough to do it for a full three minutes without you having to watch a three minute video of me doing it”… obviously not 😂
There have been a few people that explicitly asked for a follow along version of this excersise.
😂 I do too❤
There is a huge benefit to follow along videos and almost all coaches and trainers provide either follow-along or cues and time markers for their clients when working with them directly. As an added benefit, I noticed several things M Wildman did during the exercises repetitions which were instructive.
His first presentation of these exercises was very good (and something I have passed on so many times I can’t count), but this video is decidedly better than the previous one.
So. Much. More helpful!
youtube and social media have made most of us way too dumb
These follow along videos will be helpful for many people. Sometimes you just want to follow along vs learning and doing after. Would be great to see additional follow along mobility and warm-ups
I second this. Do shoulders, spine, and hips next pls.
Yes! It's not that we don't know what to do. It's about creating the space and time to do it. At least for me
I still do these after your original video on these movements. I like follow along.
Damn, trying to get longer every point really changed the game here. Thank you, I was having headache for almost a month every day straight and it was getting worse. So bad that at some point I thought there was maybe something more going on... Before pushing the panic button I tried some of your exercizes and I'm relieved! No more pain and Im sleeping much better. Maybe this video doesnt have as many views you wanted but atleast you know there is a person you really helped out there.
This is great! Thanks Mark. I'd kill for something like this for shoulder mobility
I will put it on the list
Wouldn't that hurt your shoulder? ;). But yes, I would love a shoulder video too:)
Since we can ask: would love one about upper back mobility 😅 ! Thanks so much for the content 🙏🏿
Every time you gave a cue my neck instantly felt my old injury correcting itself. Thanks so much for this video. I believe this will be actually life changing for me. You're the man Mark!
Thanks Mark, this is a wonderful step up from the old 3 minute routine which I always had trouble finding again. Neck mobility has become a real issue for me in the last year and these exercises have been a true blessing.
Mobility is the only thing that keeps a lot of us going
I’ve been doing these daily since your original video post on these back in the old studio. This is great!!
Me too!
I saw your old video where you were sitting on stairs and talking about these neck exercises.
I just want to thank you, you saved me from agonizing pain, my job is sitting I sit at computers for long hours which always gave me a strained neck but your exercise helped me.
Well done. More of these, please! Thank you!
Very clear and specific! Really appreciate this!
Thank you for the exercise!!!
thanks Mark!! I've been requesting this many times on the QAs!
Great sequence and instructions, thanks!
Thanks for this came at a perfect time 🤗
I needed this more than I realized.
this is extremely timely. Thank you Mark!
Great stuff Mark, thanks. One of the best neck strech routines on youtube.
Glad I found this today, please share more!
Excellent thank you!
I LOVE this updated version and the addition of the timer is brilliant. Thanks!
Your training videos are awesome!!!
Many thanks!
Great video. Thank you for uploading. I saved it into my CZcams favorites.
This has been a part of my warm up since the original video was posted way back when...
I like the new variations.
Thank you much Mark, being experiencing neck pain and your video came just in time!
Brilliant! I remember you doing a quick tutorial a couple of years ago. This is great because if I fell off the wagon and went to start again I had to go find my notes or dig up the old video. Thanks, always moving forward!
Awesome! Loved the concept of stretching the the neck! Came here for general kettlebell and club workouts, found this too. Thank you.
Thank you Mark.
I've shared your older video with many training partners in Grappling who were getting neck problems. So great you remade it!
I like this format, straight to the exercise and not a big long drawn out speech. Great stuff...
Excellent. I continue to learn with your videos.
Love it Mark! Thank you! This is such a great supplement to my Neck Flex exercises using the Revolver attachment. 🤙🏻
Wow!! Great mobile work.
Love it! You’re a common-sense, no nonsense genius. Appreciate your work…thx!
Thanks!
Mark, This is fantastic. Thank You! So precise and so full of the important tips when mobilizing the neck. I'm such a fan of your no nonsense training style.
following this everyday now. cheers.
I realized lately that my shoulder issues are really neck issues. These exercises helped a lot.
Thank you Mark
really liked the setup of this vid. im trying to get into a flow and stretch in the morning and making a yt playlist trying to find vids where ppl do voice overs as their just doing the workout is helpful for just getting into doing it and not having to fast forward through unnecessary talking!
Best description from videos I have viewed on how to perform neck exercises, but just as important they seem to be the best exercises.
thank you so much for making the follow along video😂❤ at the end of the day I'm certainly not concentrated enough to do the exercises by myself
Thank you Mark. Enjoyed the first on this exercise. Enjoyed this even more. Saved for daily use.
If I could afford to engage you for personal training to try to get back at least some of what Ive lost due to the distractions and troubles of life, it would be done. As an alternative though these short pointed instructionals are mint.
You know more than most practioners how to work with limitations of a person who is on the lowest end of the scale if mobility and strength to build a safe foundation to move to the more demanding exercises.
Much appreciated.
Keep doing what you do. Its valuable for aging dudes like me and others.👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks couch!
Excellent exercises. Makes a huge difference
CZcams timed this well, I really needed this today.
Thank you Mark! My neck feels so much better. I've been doing this every day for 5 days and the chiropractor was able to adjust my neck much easier. Thank you for making this follow along video:)
Thanks this felt good to do!
Just returned from a long weekend trip. This is a cool format!
I like it. Thanks!
This is good. Many thanks
Super odcinek, dzięki za informacje 🙂👍
Unreal video. So simple and easy to follow. Actually increased my motivation to do it rather than people just ‘listing’ the exercises. Thanks
Thank you. I will be using this. I saved it and will recommend this program to family and friends.
Extremely useful instructions. I love the voice over instead of talking while filming the exercise, and the timing cues. This way is clearer. Amazingly well done!
More videos like this for other body parts would be very useful. Then people could make follow along playlists for their individual warm up programs.
Dude your stuff is very much appreciated. I use to be a “power lifter” when I was younger, was looking for a better set of workouts in this season of my life and then found your channel.
Just bought a full set of kettlebells.
Starting off with a 5 & a 15 pound heavy club, and if it works out gonna buy the adjustable heavy club you link in the banner. Thanks Mark 🙏🏼
This really helps motivation
God tier right here, this will be life changing for so many
Thank you.
Thank you for the follow along. Been doing some of them wrong. Readjust and rotate!
Same here. I found the 'lengthen your neck' queue in the short last week, and now I like it even better.
Wow fantastic.
Many thanks. Epitome of KISS - 'Keep it Short and Simple'. Will try it out. God bless you for helping us.
Saved! Great daily follow along until I can memorize how to do this
Wow! I did this twice yesterday, and my neck is more flexible, less sore, and less "crunchy" than it has been for a long time! I can hardly believe the improvement. Definitely going to do this every day. Thanks!
Thank you i am happy found this video
This was great..64 and need to do this every day...thanks!
Wow thanks!
Thank Mark
Glad i came across this video because this wasn't part of the intro for the overweight individual program. None of the warm ups, def been doing them incorrectly.. i think I'll repeat cycle 1 again to get acclimated with everything from the top.
Your program is the only truly sensible program I have found.
I am truly disappointed in the lack of options in the market for deconditioned and injured individuals leading into high-level athletics. I will solve this problem.
❤❤❤Omg I appriciate this
Genuinely life changing for me was to be always thinking of lengthening the neck. Thank you! I don't do the last couple of rotation exercises
You don’t have to you can do them in a couple of years different athletes progress at different rates but if you just do the lines that is excellent in a step in the correct direction
Day five and my neck feels better than it has in a decade. I second the calls for a similar shoulder video. Thank you!
Doing a shoulder video like this is an excellent idea
It would be helpful to have a pdf checklist. Do you have such a thing?
Basically the exercises of your video I recently saw from 3 years ago. I like it. Gives me something to bookmark and do regularly this way vs the old video. Good idea. My only concern is with most of the movements and rotations from left to right, I hear\feel a fair amount of crunching in my neck. What is going on there and do I just keep working through it or could it be more detrimental than not doing the exercises?
The pops on the full roation omg
But it feels nice
Both my upper and lower back muscles hurt. I think this will correct my posture in time
When I was a music teacher I would run my kids through the neck series as a warmup. They always got a laugh when we did the "turtle, double-chin" one, and it's my hope that these kinds of things influenced them to be more active.
I really don’t like follow alongs, because I think people should just be smarter and just pay attention. With that said, I’ve done your original video as part of my warm up for a couple years, and today for the first time I actually feel taller. You are a great coach, and I should probably pay attention more haha
I still do your three minute drill ❤
Very satisfying atlas adjustment at the end!
Could you tell what is the rationale behind side glide move? I've been doing this follow along almost daily for two months and it's really great. I think I can feel I became better at this, including glides. However my doctor said it's weird and not supposed to be done. I have Master medicine too, but I can't really understand what joints participate in this movement. It feels like it takes place between skull base and c1-c2 but I'm not sure it's true.
Brillant
I love this, but have a quick question. When I do the neck circles I get a bunch of grinding. Is that anything to be concerned about? Thank you.
I've been to physiotherapy more times than I can remember, having to take painkillers daily for my neck and I'm hoping that following a daily mobility routine like this will help. Nothing has seemed to help so far. Also is this a once a day routine or could it be done multiple times depending on current pain levels?
I was actually going to make a comment that you should make this video, it's like you read my mind!
My only critique is that maybe the head rolls should book-end the drill, doing 1 minute of head circles was a little dizzying, but otherwise this is awesome!
Mr.Wildman, I have been using clubs for a few years and noticed I am developing the symptoms many people call carpal tunnel syndrome. Since club swinging stresses the hand and forearm more than any other exercise I have ever tried, I’m not surprised. I’m not convinced the impingement is completely at the wrist, however. The nerves can get pinched at the neck and shoulder as well, causing the same symptoms as CTS. I like Active Release Technique to release impingement, but are there stretches ore other practices you do to prevent nerve impingement in upper extremities? Thanks a lot, you the main reason I have CZcams.
Is this Best before o after workout?
I have a fusion at C5/6 and my neck is very weak, stiff and I have balance issues can you help me please. Or suggest help.
QUESTION..... What exercises do you recommend for strengthening the neck
Do you still use the iron neck trainer thingy you did a video on a couple of years ago ?
It’s sitting on a shelf here I’m not doing any fighting right now, so I’m not using it but once I get back into some armored fighting stuff it’s definitely goes on the daily list
I am not doubting or questioning the benefits. Just curious if anyone has tried this consistently and for how long until they saw a considerable imrovement. I did for about two weeks but back to it now. I also bought Iron Neck but returned it as I wasn't seeing noticeable improvements. Perhaps I haven't committed to either long enough. This is much better and hope it helps because it's free and can be done anywhere anytime. Thanks MW👍!
Hello, I have disc in my neck I can do this exercise
Hey community! Is this to be done everyday?
Nice not to have to set the timer. Missed the flat circle though. I would do 5 minutes. 😘
#5 is called the Shanequa.
What is the benefit?
Did not expect to actually start sweating.
