As the game’s been out for a while now, and i’ve been playing it on my Xbox in my living room for when i want to get a quick fight or two done while the slow cooker is on, or while Mrs Dudi gets ready to go out somewhere. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying myself, while also being a bit disappointed at the same time. The combat is great, but there is a load of crap surrounding and within the game that at least for me just doesn’t work.
So, I thought, hell why not provide my take on what doesn’t work with MK1 - or moreso at least what didn’t work for me, as hell MK1 might be your personal favorite entry in this 30 year old series, and theres nothing wrong with that. But, sequels in my opinion, need to improve from the previous entry - so a sequel should be the reason you move onto the new entry or release in the series - and Mortal Kombat 1, while a good fighting game, does have some things missed. So, I thought i’d list the top 5 things that Mortal Kombat 1 gets wrong. Heads up, for those who do care, there will be some story spoilers here and there too, just as a FYI

How they written Bi-Han & made him a Sektor 2.0 & Retcon his backstory & lore from the previous two timelines is a travesty beyond me! The first interation of a Human Bi-Han we get & they write him so wrong that they went with the Sektor & Noob Saibot approach instead of writing him better or at least made him redeemed himself but NO! They went with LeTs MaKe ThE sHiRaI rYu BeTtEr AnD fAvOr ScOrPiOn MoRe!
Nothing beats *THE TEA HOUSE*

I kinda disagree about Johnny Cage. His friendship/rivalry with Kenshi his character an arc. He was the one that tended to Kenshi when he was injured and he gave him Sento after paying 3 million for it. He was changed when the story was over.
Very good character moment and arch sure :) - was referring to how out of all the characters he didn't really get any reboot/new timeline drastic change like barakka or scorpion/sub zero
Marvel reboot, yes. It's fallen too far.
Needs a proper hard reboot IMO
Problem is that it would probably be produced by the same incompetent people who ruined marvel now.
During some of the final trailers, I was getting worried that they hadn't shown how the customization system would work. Because of the menu styles and flat graphics it made me feel like I was looking at a mobile game or "freemium" game as you say, and so many people were giving me shit. Having finally someone else say it made me feel validated, thank you.

How the Shirai Ryu came to be was a former Lin Kuei assassin who fell out with his brother and created his own clan to beat the Lin kuei.They took that and now the difference is the first Grandmaster of the shirai Ryu is scorpion instead of Hanzo

I dont know man i dont think Injustice 2 of all thing can be considered "work really well" with how overloaded that thing is, can't even get a specific look of skin if you dont grind forever,mk11 tho does perfected the formula with them making skin a seperate thing rather than some piece that you have to grind forever for. Also kameo *does* have skin with sonya having her mk3 skin along side her mk1 skin,while i personally haven't seen other yet it can be assumed they will keep adding more.

That's fair my dude with Injustice 2 (grinding for days trying to get red son superman emblem) - mk11 had it down perfectly
I think you’re stuck in the past when it comes to scorpion and sub zero. You said it yourself man video game sequels are supposed to be different

@@DudiReviews I’m sure they could of done better but I still think it’s a good the relationship between the 3. Yeah it was a bit rushed and I can understand why it’s not for others. But I’m glad everything had a explanation. For example reason why hanzo isn’t scorpion is because his wife death is the key to unlocking his eternal vengeance. So the only way to stop that from happening was by making him born later after everyone else and is now being trained by smoke and scorpion. Things like that leave the doors open for so many different stories like how hanzo can still get his vengeance from not his wife dying this time but his teacher scorpion handing down the title to hanzo. Or maybe coming back as a noob scorpion hybrid how they did noob smoke but it was still make sense because they would both be from the neatherealm. In other words I’m glad we got something new but stays original to the lore to a extent and think that does wonders for new and old returning players. When it comes to the skins being expensive I 100% agree. My bad I know it’s a lot of mumbo jumbo to read😅

Much great points. Personally i didnt understand the point that the story was rushed because injustice wasnt made before it. And are really Magan fox a good actor? No hate at all but rarely see «good actor» and Magan in the same sentence. That they got her to voice a blood sucking character was funny tho. Must have been a Big reason she was picked into that role
Cheers mate. She was pretty good in Jennifer's body, but voice acting isnt great
Plus when it comes to skins modders have found over 400+ skins they plan to release soon!
Hopefully it's not $15 a skin

@@DudiReviews no matter how good the skins look I would never pay 20 bucks for a skin and 10 bucks for a charm. Modern gaming companies are getting a bit greedy
It really worries me that Scorpion's DA skin and his recent Dia de los Muertos skin and Mileena's new skin seem to only be available by purchasing them with real actual money. The seasonal skins are just going to be recolors of their existing skins while all of the cool and interesting skins will cost money. I already paid $70 USD for this game plus $40 for the Kombat Pass, why should I be expected to pay anywhere from $8-10 for a skin? Why are these not just seasonal items that cost a ton of seasonal tokens? This worries me even more with DLC characters. I guarantee they are going to make Ermac's beloved MK11 design cost an extra $10 on top of the $40 required to unlock him

I personally love the scorpion and sub zero reset but Nitara is terrible. She felt like such a side piece

this is such a grest video! personally the thing that pained me the most were the missed opportunities in this game, a few things like using the old face models for the original characters from mk11 (the ones who are now titans) how the game doesn't have Jeffrey epcar is honestly a shame to me. as well as other things

I don't like that it's just gone like that but I'm not shedding tears. As for Megan Fox, she hurts my head and I'm half-deaf. I can't IMAGINE what she does to your ears. :P
Megan Fox is in relationship with Machine Gun Kelly. Its a start and end of her story.
Not gonna lie dude. Seems like your judging this way too much given how new it is. Give it some time to get character packs and dlc's out before you judge. Not saying its perfect but its still better than mk11 in my opinion. You also seem really hung up on customization. Also its kinda annoying that everyone is complaining saying mk1 is copy pasting avengers. As if theyre the only one to do multiverse plots. Watch more movies people. Its not a new concept. I do agree with you on the Megan fox thing though. I was happy to see nitara get some more presence but Megan was ridiculously monotone. And Megan is most definitely a bad actress. Voice and otherwise. While I'm not a huge fan of scorpion being kui Liang, the origin of the shirai Ryu is still the same as before just present time instead of its birth happening centuries in the past.

You know, this is my first fighting game, let alone MK game. How fucking infuriation is it, to buy a hundred euro game, where all the best cosmetic "unlockables" are microtransactions.

I really hate that all the characters look the same face wise.
Also noticed the have the same muscles too with the same vein going down their arm

@@DudiReviewswell SFV is. But 6 is good with its separate Arcade endings and World tour story mode. World tour BTW is awesome and does get expanded with each DLC character cause you can encounter and learn their history and fighting style.
