â@crazydud3380 having knight as last is crazy, I would put asylum last

I think Arkham Knight is the most underrated because the open world is by far more amazing than anything weâve seen before in the series, and is one of the best open worlds of all time, it is just perfect. And I know this is just based on when the games were released but the graphics are A LOT better than the other games. But also the nightwing suit probably balances out all of that with how bad it was soâŚđ¤ˇââď¸
Agreed
I agree
Gotham could've been better in Arkham Knight imo
Origins is just straight up not included in Arkham bundles like wtf
I enjoyed playing all four of the games, but I've replayed Knight the most and consider it my favorite. I remember feeling genuinely upset that Barbara had died, and was replaying the scene in my head.
Then it hit me that Joker moved the gun, and out loud I exclaimed "Joker moved the gun!" and confused my Mom who had no idea what I was talking about. also Knight turns 10 next year and that makes me feel old.
Bro screaming at the joker is crazy, you definitely were one of the infected fellas
Itâs not origins anymore in my opinion because so many people have called it underrated for so long so to the point where I feel like itâs well rated while I feel like Arkham asylum is the most under appreciated game even tho the gameplay is outdated it still is perfect batman game in my eyes and so much replay value and I donât hear nearly enough praise for the great game
Origns is my favorite Arkham game
The argument about City's story being nothing but a fetch quest is certainly a weak one. I'd like to give my reasons for it being my least favorite story in the franchise (despite still really enjoying it). Batman as a character is completely stagnant, undergoing no introspection or development, while also being far too emotionless. Batman should be stoic but it's far too much in City, especially compared to the others. In Asylum he has caring banter with Oracle and even chuckles occasionally and he shows genuine care for Gordon. In Knight he practically cries when he thinks Oracle dies, and the plot basically revolves around his fear of failing the people he loves. I think Origins doesn't even need to be mentioned it does this aspect so well. But in City he's basically a statue. His coldness towards Robin doesn't feel like protectiveness he just comes off as uncaring. He has a stronger reaction to Hugo Strange's death than Talia's. The plot of the cure isn't the best but the only thing about it that actually bother's me is that Hugo Strange is reduced to a complete non threat. Once Bruce is infected there is ZERO investigation of Protocol 10 until Sharp is arrested, when scaling Wonder Tower Strange doesn't do anything to make good on his threat at the beginning of "if you try to stop me, everyone will know your secret," and then he's just gone after being revealed to be a lacky for Ra's. It's not that I think the story is bad at all, I still greatly enjoy it, but I much prefer Bruce's characterization in every other game and I would've preferred more focus on the Protocol 10 mystery than just the cure. Man that was an essay, sorry lol.
I say strange got arrogant by the end everything of his went according to plan he's been manipulating everyone playing catwoman and two face against each other, ratting out Gordon's undercover team, giving freeze to penguin manipulating quincy sharp using Mad Hatter etc. He kept batman off his tail and from investigating protocol 10 until it was literally 20 minutes away and by then it was too late.
In the opening he says "I assume you thought yourself untouchable well as you can see no one is untouchable"
By the time you are about to apprehend him he ironically says "I am untouchable" all of his successes got to his head and it became his downfall. Even Ras Al Ghul calls him out on it. "you've proven that batman is better than you" batman never got arrogant
@@baki484 and like that's exactly what happened, but I feel like it kinda undermines his "cold and calculating" thing. And they could've just avoided it by making that final stealth section similar to the one in Asylum in the Botanical gardens where you need to sneak past everyone to get to the guy in the control room first. Strange assumes Batman fell off the tower once his people lost sight of him, which means until you take out the first guy in the top room he thinks you're no longer a threat. If you had to sneak past the guards, silent takedown Strange, and THEN the rest of them, that would have solved that issue in my eyes
@@jacobcenter7374 the story has problems it no near knight story
Ahhh memories. When Origins came out, is when I began my modding CZcams channel.
I bought it on release but never really appreciated it until recent đ regret not giving the game a chance all these years
Hey man, love your content keep it up!
Arkham Origins is by far the most underrated; It has the best story and the best boss fights... and that's definitely not a small thing.
The batmobile segments were some of my favorites
Hell yeah! people complain too much
@@eusoumacaco1322 On gosh, they make it sound like hell đ
damn... this video basically sumarized what i think about the whole underrated conversation to perfection.
what an amazing video, keep up the good work man
Jeez. If I was going to make a list of the things wrong with the Batman Arkam City storyline it wouldn't be ANY of those. If I had to make a complaint it'd be, 1) Arkham city is an extremely stupid idea. I know that mind control was involved, but no one would give up prime real estate in new york city to turn it into a prison. It had a museum and an active steel mill for pity sakes! 2) The idea that Hugo strange would as he said make more Arkham cities in "Keystone" and "bludhaven when it basically failed within like a month or however long it was operating for to the point they needed to introduce protocol 10. It felt like the most contrived possible way they could have made a game where batman runs around in town and there's no civilians to worry about.
3) I have mixed feelings about the joker actually dying. On the one hand it's nice that there actually was a death and someone didn't just come back from the dead as common in comic book stories, but the Joker? Especially when he died 3 feet from a Lazarus pit. Ultimately I love the series and it became a useful plot element in arkham knight, but it still felt like such a gut punch.
Origins is the obvious choice. However I personally think Arkham Knight is the most underrated and City is the most overrated
City isn't that overrated and knight isn't underrated that title goes to asylum
City being overrated is a legitimately psychotic take. your Arkham Ball knowledge is nonexistent.
Yeah I agree, City is incredibly overrated plus itâs story sucks
@@Bugplanet8840 city story was great
@@Bugplanet8840 ball knowledge = 0
The part about Batman Arkham city being a goose chase I somewhat agree with when doing the whole penguin part, go to this jammer then the next then the next then everything inside
I know Asylum is aged but I played it for the first time last year and I had such an amazing time and couldnât wait to continue the series. Iâve played games where I didnât play in its heyday and/or not on its original console so while I recognize the history, I canât get into it like I wanted. But that wasnât the case here, I was having so much fun with Asylum. Definitely a favorite now.
That said, I went into Origins expecting the worst since I saw so many talk poorly of it. And instead I ended up absolutely loving it. It shows how important it is to play for yourself to find how a game impacts you or doesnât. as I too played it for 1st time last year I never experienced the rough start and I didnât have too many issues with glitching in general fortunately. The story and cutscenes had me hooked and now itâs one of my favorite games ever. I doubt itâll ever be remastered but if it was Iâd buy it in a heartbeat.
Asylum and City were extremely beloved, praised, and even received well. So it's not either one of those two, that leaves origins and knight. I feel like origins has been getting some love recently but so has knight. Why either one of these two games were received poorly is beyond my comprehention.
In all honesty, my favorite of the entire series is Batman Arkham ORIGINS. That's right. Origins is my favorite, for 3 main reasons.
1) The best interpretation of Bane in any Medium. Bane is not just a physical powerhouse, he's also a cunning and disciplined mind. On top of that, not only is he a cunning brute, he is also a legitimate leader. Someone who both has the ability to lead but also the ability to inspire his men to be the best THEY can be. Top Notch.
2) Deathstroke.
3) IT has the best combat. Yeah, I mean it. It has the best combat of any of the games. It took what arkham city did and added to it. We got brutes and armored brutes, Venom users and best of all martial artists that were such an interesting change of pace for the fights. Arkham Knight removed the venom users, and the martial artists, and the their version of brutes was much worse. They also removed armored thugs entirely, which made both combat and predator challenges less challenging and fun, which is unforgivable. All they added in return was medics who could revive and add the electric shielding to certain enemies. Although I liked it, it really didn't change the way you fight in any meaningful way. You just have to use Batclaw a bit more often to stop the electricity, and it really doesn't take much effort to stop a guy from reviving another guy. A very marginal threat increase.
I agree with all your points. While some people hated the martial artists, I found them quite a fun add that made combat more involved for experienced players.
Though, I believe Knight and Origins had different approaches towards gameplay. Origins clearly preferred difficulty while Knight prioritized being in a flow state and didn't push difficulty as much as Origins.
While we could debate which is better, I believe both achieved what they wanted to do quite well.
Can't forget the amazing Batman theme as well. I prefer it over the trilogy's.
SoâŚ
1) is doing one villain right
2) I really disagree, Deathstroke was a bitch in the game. Does nothing impressive and gets taken down by a rookie Batman in ONE fight, in one of the easiest fights in the Arkham series
3) this is so wrong. It has the most unbalanced combat. Iâd added nothing that made the combat more fun. The new enemies are nothing special and The electric gloves is just a âwin buttonâ that removes any and all challenge from the game. In what universe does it have a better combat then Arkham Knigbt
@@agrainofrice2424
In what universe is Arkham Origins difficult? The shock gloves legit removes ALL challenge from the game. Itâs by far the easiest Arkham gsme
@@Indigo_1001 Death stroke and Vigilante Bruce wayne don't have them, also turn off "hints' and they don't have the counter attack warnings.
I think Batman Arkham Asylum isnât given enough credit perhaps? It was an unbelievable foundation for The Arkham Series, and it was a brilliant game! Sure, it didnât have the most advanced combat or mechanics like we now have in Batman Arkham Knight, but I think its atmosphere was unmatched. It also brings back so many memories, and so much nostalgia. And respectfully, nostalgia is a hard feeling to beat as itâs such an awesome feeling that is universal for all videogamers!
I think the reason people myself included says origins is underrated is because wb doesn't show the game any love leaving it out of every re-release/remaster
Good job this was a real interesting video
It's always a good Day when Knerd uploads!đ
Every game was underrated because we now know what came after.
You explained the pros of knight very well it's the most refined in the series a technical Marvel that still holds up right but I only go back to it for the challenge maps the story has interesting missions like teaming up with Robin at the movie studios but city, Asylum and origins. But the arkham knight tie-in novel says batman was in denial about it being Jason Todd he knew (but it contradicts the game so it's not canon).
Asylum is definitely still fun and is my second favorite in the series I like the simplicity of Asylum.
Origins needs a remaster that's for sure. It has some of my favorite enemy types in the series like.
23:18 THE BEST BOSS FIGHT OF THE WHOLE ARKHAM FRANCHISE, I REALLY STRUGGLED FOR HOURS TO FINALLY BEAT HIM
Gavin Blake Batman is the most underrated. It's good to see him treating normal citizens the same level as the criminals and says goodnight to them when he's done. What a nice guy.
Origins had its time in the sun as underrated. I think itâs fair to say they are all perfectly rated.
Not by WB
As someone who is finish all achievements in Arkham Knight I don't really get the hate, yes it has some low,but I think with every game they learn a lot and tried to improve,so I'm noticing how much love they put into AK thats why it's my favourite
Honestly I have to say Arkham City Lockdownâs more underrated compared to the other Arkham games. Asylum & City gets praised to death, Origins & Knight are divisive at best, and the more we forget Blackgate Underworld & VR, the better.
Full 9 years passed despite being hated and underappreciated. Arkham Knight is still the most played in franchise and got a lot of praised by many as one of the best game to this day compare to many modern game. Nice video btw đ¤
Hot take I don't have a favorite Arkham game I love them all equally.
Slightly related since boss fights for brought up, but does anyone else wish there was a boss rush mode in the Arkham games where you could replay all the boss fights? I would love to fight, death stroke, and see how much Iâve improved as a player without having to create an entirely new saved file. Plus, I imagine it would be useful for the sake of recording gameplay.

It's between Origins and Asylum
I really hate it when people dismiss games just because they're old. I've recently playing through the Devil May Cry series for the first time. Some of those games are over 20 years old and, except for the second one, they're all fantastic.
Have never heard of asylums combat being outdated. The only praise I ever really hear is from people who love both city and asylum but have a problem with either origins or knight.
I always hear Mr freeze or the ending in city. Or for asylum, how it revolutionised modern combat or how they remember when they thought their game "crashed".
Final placement of asylum is crazy
To be fair, if we widen our horizons when it comes to looking at Arkham games, thereâs also a fair share of mobile games and origins black gate that could potentially be the most underrated if the core four titles are seen as well praised enough

I do actually agree with the criticisms of City's story after a recent playthrough... The story starts off extremely interesting with Protocol 10, but then is almost completely abandoned for chasing Joker's cure instead. It's a wild goose chase with not much character growth in it. It has a phenomenal ending, and still incredibly solid gameplay and graphics, but yeah the plot is barebones until Protocol 10 actually comes into effect towards the end.
I've come around to Knight recently. It's my new favorite Arkham game despite its many flaws. The raw gameplay is just that insanely good and massively improved over the other 3. I only replayed the first 3 games once, but with Knight, I've beaten it on every save file.

One thing i dont like in origins is that joker was more important than black mask in story. Joker should've been a side mission ( also would have been the best side quest . )
I'll be honest, when I did a playthrough of all 4 Arkham games, the only one I refused to finish was Origins. Asylum, City and Knight were all a blast to play, but Origins just wasn't. It felt clunky and undercooked, and the combat somehow felt more sluggish than Asylum's.
I donât get why people dislike the story of city so much now it is. Sure thereâs a fair bit of fetch questing in the game, but itâs core. It is a story that is designed to challenge Batmanâs resolve and moral code when it comes to killing and ultimately leaves him sticking by his beliefs, despite everything.
Better than knight story

Asylum is the best Arkham game. It nailed the comic book vibe and atmosphere to a T.
I feel Origins or Knight deserve the title of most underrated out of the 4 games. Asylum may be outdated in gameplay and content compared to the later games but it's still well liked in the community. And City is the most well-liked game overall. Calling it underrated in the series is like saying Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban movie is underrated.
I haven't watched it yet but your answer is Arkham Origins Blackgate. If I'm right you have to give me your Xbox

23:28 I see you didnât acknowledge Suicide Squad's lower player count than Arkham Origins, Respect +, that game, for me, is a Ketamine-induced fever dream of Harley Quinn while in Arkham Asylum
my man forgot everyone's favorite game- Arkham Blackgate!
Iâll admit that Arkham Asylum is my least favorite of the Arkham series, but I do not think the game should be criticized for having gameplay that isnât as good as it sequels and prequel. It was the first of the series so of course itâs going to have the least evolved gameplay the fact that holds up so well today despite showing its age is a testament to how great the game actually is.
I said in a previous comment that it has aged horribly especially with the sequels and prequel, but I did also mention, how it feels to be a chore to go through for me personally
I'd still give the edge to Origins since it's literal the Arkham game that is so far under the radar to the average person that the whole trilogy is on the freaking Switch including Knight which I have no idea how bad it must run but Origins is only playable on older hardware, unless the consoles like Xbox, does work to make it back compatable. I feel like that says a lot, especially when new players won't even hear about it if they just play the remasters or trilogy because Origins has never been ported. But, thanks to this video i think the Arkham series is one of the best examples of no matter how praised a game franchise is, there will never be a "perfect" game and that's ok and people need to stop judging games so harshley because of small nit picks here and there. Great video man. Origins needs justice and not just a port but a remaster now! Its overdue!

Hey, What about Batman Orgins Multiplayer? Can you make a review about Orgins Multiplayer?
I'd say knight is most underrated because it's somehow not considered the best in the series. I get bosses critic, but the combat is just not made for 1v1. And the arena combat I believe is best in the genre of its style. It's impossible for me to go back to city just because how much better batman feels, even the way he walks is just imposing AF which felt really stoic before.
Batman is a force of nature in this game and you feel tht every moment you are him, you feel it doubly so when you play as other bat family members, they are just not as strong which is by design but man batman is strong yet he is the most vulnerable he has ever been. And Gotham my man is a work of art.
It also has my faverite batman voice acting as bat and man it hits. Before he felt stoic and I felt like he had no personality now it's tht it's more so him trying to hide his vulnerablilities. Which was a thing in city to but man it feels so much more prevalent here.
Origins imo is also really good because it imo has the best story and dialogue for bats along with him having so much more personality.
Arkham Asylum is definetly my favorite game in the Arkham Franchise.
I dont mind the barmobile I would just remove the tanks
Recently, a lot of people have been revisiting Origins, hence its cult following making it one of the most popular games in the series. Having played Origins, I find it WAY too similar to base Arkham City, despite the mostly great story, and amazing boss fights. When revisiting Knight (this time with the DLC) I have to say that I am liking it a lot more than I did on my first playthrough. I'm considering bumping it up to third place on my ranking just because Season of Infamy makes it so much better!
Overall, Knight.
Everytime any Arkham game gets any hate, then that game is super underratedđ¤
Arkham Origins, hands down
Arkham VR is the most underrated, period.
The problem with Arkham city's story was never about it being a glorified fetch quest for me... I love the whole joker batman plot line! But the whole protocol ten story makes very little sens, but it's a comic book plot so who cares if it's unrealistic that a villain would manage to section off a whole district of Gotham with full authorisation from the government. What's more problematic is strange knowing batman's identity, (to my knowledge it's never explained how he finds that out), and never actually doing anything with that information... Hugo strange litteraly says "if you try and stop me, I guarantee everyone will know your secret" and then batman proceeds to try and stop him and... Nothing... strange doesn't reveal his identity... Like what was the point ?
Those reasons why i have problem with Arkham knight it never about batman Vs scarecrow it about batman Vs joker Arkham series can never live without joker that annoys me so much Origins black mask should of been the main villain knight it should be scarecrow and hush not joker I could argue that Hugo strange sent tiger guards to Wayne manor but nightwing fought them off
Iâll never forgive Arkham Origins for the game breaking glitch which never got fixed that ruined my first save file during my NG+ after I took time to get most of the riddler stuff done
Arkham origins really is the most important game in the series I feel like the story between the beginning of batman and jokers rivarly is so important to the narrative of the franchise in general and also the boss fights and combat is so so underrated every other Arkham game does not have the "cool" factor that I think is necessary in a Batman game so thats why if it was properly remade to fix it's poor graphics and art style that was absolutely overlooked because of the poor performance it'd be the best in the franchise (also the suit selection is leagues better then the rest of the series in its uniqueness which is what I care most about in cosmetics)
The main antagonist should of been black mask not joker
Black mask would've been way better
@@alexcleianu185 the story's richer with joker in it because the main plot of the whole series is centered around the toxic relationship Batman and Joker have and it's so interesting especially in this game. The story would not be complete without joker.

@@burrito4 and black mask central. The joker side missions could have been something like black mask crew attack joker( black mask was tracking joker in origins ). Batman saving joker from black mask would have made the story complete and also explain the batman-joker relationship
If it weren't for the glitches plaguing Arkham Origins, I would genuinely think it's the best in the series.
If a new player were to ask me where to start, I would suggest Asylum if they're dedicated right out the door. If they're more hesitant, I would've suggestrd Origins. But due to the game's poor condition, I'm forced to recommend City instead.
While Origins did basically steal everything from City, at the end of the day it's an Arkham game with the mechanics of City with a better story and better boss fights. City has greater highs, but also greater lows. Origins' strength over the other games is that it's consistently good with more averaged out peaks and valleys.
I think origins is more underrated because like you said people donât even know it exists
Origins will always be my fav, best story and bosses in my op
I'll go blind, and without watching a video, state its Arkham Asylum
Your video about suicide squad not being cannon and how Batman was being dumb with his attacks have you considered thinking that Jason became Batman or even Damien Wayne
i must say that arkham asylum has the best physics you can break environment batman's cape reacting better than in any other game and you can cut clothes with batarangs developers lost this technology i guess
My only problem with this game is I get soft lock on mad hatter without noticing and I am at 115% and couldn't get to 120%
Unrelated but why did you put the arkham asylum theme before talking about arkham knight?
I know the motif i present in the 1st cutscene with batman but if youre going to use the theme of a game make sure you do talk about it right after
kinda unpopular opinion but Origins and Asylum are my favorite games in the series
I feel that Arkham Asylum is the greatest superhero game for its time, until you reach City and Knight with their better traversal options and gameplay flow which immediately downgrades what Asylum had, so it doesnât feel so great anymore
Like after you get glide boost 4 in Arkham Knight, the original grapnel boost from Arkham City feels so slow
Also Arkham Origins isnât even available on the Xbox store so I couldnât even buy it if I tried
I actually think Asylum has the worst overrall boss fights but that's just me
23:25 At least it has more players than garbage squid.
people saying origins is underrated that much so it become overrated now
What happened to Arkham Asylum the number one game. The first one. The one that started the Arkham series.
It got old
Yo knerd, how do I get popular
Btw ur my fav arkham youtuber to show secrets. Also arkham knight is the best arkham game and idc
