I was convinced when his brother joined a battle at Bechafen
So I sent a hero to meet Markus and built a Garden of Morr over in Lustria teleported Elspeth over there. I killed Yuan Bo and now have Purple Sun down to 2 winds...... I can cast it over 200 times not accounting for Life Leeching.
EDIT: So my upgraded Purple Sun is only 1 wind and with Life Leeching it restores between 2 and 3 winds so effectively it's -1.5 winds.

At first I didn't really realize what's wrong with the Age of Reckoning mechanic for the Dwarfs but then I hit around turn 30 with Malakai and noticed I had no good grudges around me to settle. So for the next 20 turns I was simply on the lowest tier of the system. Then I noticed that the AI dwarfs had a ton more grudges settled than me, looked around a bit and found the reason. A faction + the army gains a ton of grudges when you lose to them. So if you go back and forth a lot against a faction, you can farm grudges way too much. But I'm now at a point where I can't confederate any dwarf that is alive since they simply settle more grudges than me, because I rarely lose a fight.
When I played I was always in a war or two with someone. Before turn 30, the AoR was mostly fair. Like max 6600, and they were increasing at a steady incline.
After turn 30…I needed 16,000. I was what. So took the L on that. But then it reduced to 10,000. At one point, when I was war with no one. Cuz I wiped them out on the turn before. I needed 50,000. The guys around me are like giving me 25. The most I’ve seen in a stack was Archeon with 1987.
I’m glad there’s a hot fix coming but that shit is demoralizing

I have not really had this issue. I just went to war with all of norsca and skaven around me, plus the adventures. It gives so many grudges. But if you go to war against order factions they will give you a whole less grudges. + if you let the enemy raid, sack and take settlements they get hundreds and thousands of grudges.
I've noticed this too. I stomped out Throt and Wintertooth really early - the latter declared on me - and got some decent grudge rewards from that, but as I pushed east dealing with those minor factions to capture Karak Drum for the quest, I noticed they were giving like 40 per army and 100 per settlement compared to the 120 per army / 400 per settlement the other two majors gave. At first I thought this was just cause of the major/minor factions diff but then I noticed the Chaos Dwarves (Astrogoth) was giving low rewards too.
If I could have chosen my enemies, I would have gone against the dark elves to the North because they had some of the highest grudge levels in my vicinity and the starting faction quests and adventures seem to involve fighting elves a lot. Naturally the Greenskins were worth the most from what I could see, but it's a good 30 or so turns before you start bordering Grimgor or Bonerattlers and you've got too many other factions with high aversions to deal with first. It's just a shame a lot of those (chaos in particular) seem to have low grudge scores. From what I can tell, it's because there's fewer chaos factions attacking other dwarf factions than there are Greenskins, elves, Skagen l, etc. when you think about start positions of Grombrindal, Thorek, Belegar, etc.
I guess this means as Dwarves you can only commit to a civil war for the most efficient path to confederate them. Essentially wipe them out and then they cannot settle more Grudges and instead get each Legendary Lord in the other factions via the new mechanic instead of the Lord and their territory.
Skarsnik the Hobgoblin Hero gives the most amount of boosts of any other hero.
Was playing an elspeth campaign today and I wound up getting involved in all the shit out by the orcs as well, glad to see I didn't just make a huge mistake by venturing out and then deciding to wade into the muck while dealing with multiple fronts.
I haven't finished the stream so don't know if you have saved him or if you can even save lords, but Aldebras Leonardus the Pistoleer bro should definitively be saved.

Just curious as to why you don't have a mage of some sort in your pistolier army to take care of units like the Skaven artillery? Surely by now they would be on a flying mount.
I started this campaign while watching your stream. God damn are they going differently. I think I need to get better at not discovering hostile factions. I've got baddies on all sides and it's only turn 31

Don't get me wrong, they are better than the basic version - it's stupid to deny that. but for them to be worth the effort spent on them, it is necessary one of two things.
1 - remove the maximum number of units per army, and getting the opportunity to hire 1 special unit costs 1000 schemes (the cost in schemes does not increase).
OR
2 - Do not touch the wild cost, but adjust the characteristics of units to it - increase the damage from a blow/shot by 25-50%, and change upgrades
1st - +20 attack and defense (so that if our shooters got into close combat, they could perform well)
2nd - 15% ward save (just a general survivability boost)
3rd - +15% range and the stance gives not only accuracy, but another 10% range.
Then these particular units will correspond to the hemorrhoids that must be endured for their sake.
Really just give her great cannons, the new grape shot is so strong.

One of the major balance bullshit that I just can't figure out is the balance of special units. I mean - a separate mechanic has been made for increasing the number globally, a limitation in one army, and you think “no, well, they’re probably freaking powerful!” Then you go into the game and see... ordinary units, well, maybe 10% stronger than ordinary ones.
As a player, a logical question arises for me: “Why should I bother with them?” Improvements in general are "fire" - buffs for melee combat. For the fucking shooters!!! What nonsense is this...

Their other upgrades are, too be fair, remarkably better.
Not sure if you noticed, but the amethyst units get _both_ the buffs of the normal units _and_ those specific to the amethyst ones. So the melee attack & Def is after the stuff they already got from the specific gun infantry upgrades.
Not entirely sure how they hold up against the regular units besides that cause I don't have the dlc, but I get the feeling it's better than you think. Though, if not, sorry lol
@@thijsv948 I understand this, but to clarify my point - Nuln-ironsides, with 4th improvement, can compete with... uhh...sisters of Avelorn! Surprise! Because without the 4th improvement, they lose to them in a shootout! And even with all the improvements, melee characteristics are worse...
@axyramariel7557 I'm not sure what buffs those Sisters have, but regular Ironsides beat regular Sisters pretty consistently
Why Legend can't just use Confederate chaos warriors mod if he wants to confederate? Or AI difficulty mod if he finds the game too easy?
Legend doesn't like to use mods from what I know. Sometimes he does and SFO campaign but that's rare. He stated he wants to enjoy the game as is. He doesn't dislike mods, he just doesn't want to play with them.
@@georgy5844 Why ask CA to do it or whine about it while it's literally a few clicks away from you is beyond me. There are way more talented people outside of CA than inside. That's a given. After Shadows of Change i think might be also proportionally true.
@@Baronello well it might go beyond you but that’s what his stance is. And there is nothing wrong with that. You like to play with mods, so do I sometimes, and legend doesn’t (again from what I hear, I don’t speak for him obviously)
Because someone shouldn't have to use mods for stuff like Sigvald being able to confed Azazel. It's a minor thing but makes its a neat mechanic. AI wise tho, the AI is quite braindead in WH3, like having smarter more challenging AI would make the game better objectively.
I literally don't understand, I fought with pistoleers.... and legends do more damage... and shoot far more then mine do. Not to mention they don't shoot behind them, god maybe I should reinstall because jesus mine are not touching anything... I have a full 18 stack shooting at 1 unit of zombies and it takes like 3 volleys from all of them.
5:18:30 Master Engineer only takes away construction time and reduces construction price for Military Support Buildings (Ex: Blacksmith), not actual Military Buildings (Ex: Barracks.) You already know there is someone in middle to upper management at CA who slapped his knee and laughed way too hard and acted like they got one over on Legend. Seriously though, why else would they give such an idiotic trait like that. That just seems like a "let's see if we can pull one over on Legend real quick" type trait.
