3,4 years ago, if such request came to India, me as common man would be so happy and proud to be part of Nato, and in Past also I was always thinking why our Country was not the part of this elite group, where everyone backs to everybody. But Now I can say,It's best thing that we are not part of this group, we as individual country developed our Army by ourself not dependant to other superior country.

NATO was formed because except UK and France no other European country has Nuclear weapons for protection while on the other hand India has Nuclear Triad capabilities, so there's no need to be a puppet state of USA or Russia. It's better to have independent policy and good relations with all the countries.

We Indians have a tendency to get over confident when someone says good things about us. India might be self reliant militarily but now govt should also work on promoting companies with R&D specifically in the field of cyber security and AI. Indi can't become the nato member it's against the rules of nato. Only North Atlantic near area can join it. But there is a different treaty that a country can become nato non alinged member. Like Japan South Korea australia. These countries are non aligned member of nato.

Sir have a big question. Why don't we come up with our own Asian union like European union. This would be a real alliances. Infact we should focus only on economic alliances where only all the Asian countries come together an agree to one currency and market and help each other to grow without boundaries just like Europe. Only India has the potential to do this. Just like a big brother takes care of small brothers. Of course China and Pakistan cannot be included initially.
