3-Way speakers with 4 drivers are better as 4-Way Speakers - Technics SB-A32 speaker modification

This is a video about a modification I made to these old speaker from the nineties. In my opinion they sound MUCH better with this simple modification. There are many 3-way speakers that could probably benefit by a modification like this. Personally I think the manufacturers don't want to shell out the funds for this hefty low end crossover hardware if they don't have to. I got it all for the pair for about $100
To be clear, the crossover frequencies are 500Hz / 3KHz / 6KHz on this particular speaker, the original design was set to bring the 4" midrange in at 3KHz and the tweeter in at 6KHz

5 ohm resistors between the 500Hz high pass and the positive terminal on the 5 ohm driver is where i settled on the resistor value

Thanks, yeah, really good find. I was using these wharfedales with the 6.5 inch woofer and I wasn't trying to spend tons of monies on speakers., but I love these speakers. Never had 10's before, I really like them. And with them only doing from 30-500HZ it's some pretty damn clean bass too
