Lbh we wouldn't have won this game if it wasn't for nussmeier he was phenomenal today and showed what hes capable of nice comeback win to end the season and finish with 10 wins again

This is hilarious. Daniels would have destroyed Wisconsin in the first half. Sure, they would have gotten their 14, but it would have been 28-14 at the half with Daniels. Would have been 42-28 going into the 4th and 52-31 to finish the game.
Nuss played incredibly bad in the first half. It was a great 2nd half by him though. I respect that.
This was a good game to watch. Very competitive and not a blowout like other bowl games.
As a Wisconsin fan, this loss hurt. But I know that we were major underdogs in this game to begin with so it’s impressive that we could go toe-to-toe with a top 15 team in the country. Great game.
No disrespect to LSU whatsoever, but I think we could’ve won this game if our coaches weren’t “playing not to lose.” Fickell never went for it on 4th and short, and Longo played way too conservatively in the second half. But, LSU got it done and we couldn’t.
Major props to LSU’s offense. Nussmeier looked really impressive throwing to his talented WRs, especially behind that great o-line. Maybe we can get a rematch in the 12-team playoff next year 🫡

@@EruditoGaming they’re opting out because too many players before them have been injured in a game that was unnecessary. There are FORTY THREE bowl games. That’s 64% of the teams. They don’t even have to be in top 50%! It’s the participation trophy philosophy taken to the next level. It needs to be cut at least in half.

Agree! Many other backs would have been stopped at first contact. Perk kept his balance and a major 'second-effort' forced his way to the score. To paraphrase a quote from Clyde Edwards-Helaire, 'his Heart can't be measured' ! Geaux Tighaz!!! ^v^
This was the best non college football playoff bowl on New Year's Day by far. The two Semi Final games between Michigan-Alabama and Washington-Texas were fantastic, but this bowl between LSU and Wisconsin was really good also.

This was a great back and forth scoring game by both teams, even though Wisconsin lost they still put up a heck of a performance, but still great season by LSU.

As an LSU fan I’m really excited for this next season with Nussmeier. In my opinion he will be a he is an contender, and if not, he will go down as the most underrated qb in the league next year.
I've heard he won't start next year cuz Kelly's bringin' in another talented transfer. Nussmeier's tough & he's accurate, but he's never been consistent & after 3 years @ LSU he's still not good at runnin' or escapin' a collapsin' pocket.

Wisconsin had no business being in a bowl game with LSU this year and we looked like we should have. You can see Fick and Longos pieces coming together, even if it is taking longer than some of us expected. Congrats to LSU on a great season! Hope to see you guys next year in a REAL NY6 bowl game.

I think this is the first bowl game that LSU wore its purple jerseys. Great, gritty win for the Tigers. Nussmeier looked great.
Lifelong Tiger fan here. The purple jerseys with gold hats & pants is our traditional home uni (best lookin' uni's in college football according to several polls). For some stupid reason, we started allowing the opposing team to wear THEIR home uni's in OUR house while we wore our white 'away' jerseys, giving them a sense of 'home-field' tactical advantage. Did I mention STUPID! BK promised to give LSU Every advantage during his tenure ... he needs to return to the tradition of these uni's for our home games. Geaux Tighaz !!! ^v^

The tradition started after the 1958 national championship by coach Dietzel after LSU wore white jerseys at home and won a national championship that year. From 1958-1983 LSU wore white at home until the NCAA passed a rule against teams wearing white jerseys at home. After years of petitioning the NCAA the tigers were allowed to continue to tradition of wearing white jerseys at home for the 1995 season. First home game back in white an unranked tiger team beat #6 Alabama and the white home jersey tradition has lived on since. All four of LSU's national championships have been won wearjng white jerseys at home and it’s one of the many cool traditons that make LSU the history rich program that it is.
Wisconsin is cooking, hopefully they’ll make a run to make their conference more interesting next year. My Tigers just need a good defense because I didn’t see much drop off on offense just a different style. Hellva game too!

Honestly, if you think about it, this is still a win for Wisconsin. They were beating a top 15, SEC, national tanked team for 3 quarters. We are unranked and probably over seated for this bowl. Good things to come hopefully 👍 happy new year to you all

Good point. However LSU had to commit to the blitz to get any pressure up front. LSU DBs got exposed all year and Wisconsin took advantage of this weak link.

I like Nuss. He has a big arm but not sure of his consistency. The few times he spelled Jayden he was all over the place. Granted it's a tough spot coming in cold and relieving a QB. So there is just not a large enough sample size to comment on his accuracy. However Nuss hung in this bowl game, overcame adversity, and looked good. BK can build on this win going into next season.
@mikethomas860 Yeah he started off not so good, missing some important throws, but he did pick it up after halftime, he came back from a deficit which is a big positive. And defense got just enough stops to make that possible.

Pac-12 isn't going to exist next year, and USC(aswell as UCLA) are going to be in the B1G, that will just be a conference matchup.

This years bowl games were similar to last year. Mostly blowouts with a few gems. Even the first round of the cfp was spot on good tv like last year. Lets just hope that the championship isnt a repeat. I really dont see either michigan or wash keeping the other under ten points though
