- Trying The World's Most Expensive Coffee (Kopi Luwak) in Bukittinggi, Indonesia. There's a high demand and a low supply for Luwak Coffee, so a kilogram can cost up to $1000. Plus you find this coffee only in a handful of countries worldwide. The processing of Luwak coffee is complicated: Ciwet cats naturally eat these coffee beans and also some fruits. From their poop (that includes the coffee beans) you make the coffee.
After drinking 2 cups and getting a Luwak face mask as well, my tour guide Ilham brought me to another very special place. And I almost forgot: I ate Nasi Padang (Padang Food) as well. We were hungry. Bon appetit!

@@melonusk6120 That's also true. Both is not nice. I try to avoid everything where animals suffer just for human's pleasure. In this case people can drink normal coffee instead. But the coffee industry also contains child labour and much more. That could be a big discussion here hehe
As a Sumatran as far as i knew, this luxury dish getting phenomenal by western who came to this land and found it. Previously this seeds Coffee just wasted in the interior of sumatran jungle, because Sumatran thought how weird it is to drink from poop things. And then Money talks, demand getting increase and expand also out of Sumatra.

Reminds me of civet cat coffee we have here in the Philippines. Poop of the animal being used as the actual beans for the coffee.

For West sumatra, you come to west sumatra for culinary, nature, cultural custom and history. Even in pekanbaru people eat minangnese food daily amd regularly. So why bother go there if you dont looking for a job. Women? This is indonesia, every women are beautiful.

I struggled, cause it was a cold area and there was no wind circulation inside / in front of my room. So I put the polster on hangers and hung them outside on the ceiling hehe. Worked pretty well actually until the next day

Om carlos kalau mau nginap saya ada rumah di bukittinggi di bawah kaki bukit dan di depan rumah om akan mendapat kan pemandangan yg bagus dengan hamparan sawah atau om mau di bawa kaki gunung merapi rumah gadang saya juga ada dan disana banyak makanan2 yang belum pernah om coba dan sangat enak...
Organic Luwak coffee for the sake of trade I dont think they collect the dunk out in the wild that much for such profit..i hv the feeling they also 'feed' the wild civets...🫤🧐 And who cares who came to visit this place(super stars, etc).Animals right matters!..the lady is so flat she seems as if as she had no idea when you kept mentioning against luwak or maybe shw pretended er.. animal force fed is cruelty.
