Dionne was a bad guess bcuz Dionne voice is MUCHHHH darker than Patti's and Dionne never hits them high notes as much as Patti does.
The moment she started singing, I had an idea, but wasn’t quite certain.
At the first “NINE-TO-FIVE” I was just like, “Hi, Patti!”
I knew it was her from the first note and Michelle Williams too.
The falsetto and the adlib headvoice tho. Can't fool me. I knew it from the start hahaha

She sung in a soft voice because she is older and her vocal cords are worn out. Patti Is a legend I love her. I have seen her 14 times in concert and I would not trade the world for one of those experiences. Patti is my favorite vocalist of all time.

Often as women age our voices become deeper and richer in tone, and with that we lose the ability to hit those high soprano falsettos…….

The reality was even though we knew it was her she still had to disguise her voice which is part of why we never got the full range of her voice and performances because Patti would have shut this stage down but the flower had to go unnoticed

@kj It is an editing technology that adjusts the pitch to the nearest note. Similar to autotune.
I e noticed them doing that to several of the singers on several songs but they don’t do it every time. Only a few moments was it noticeable with Patti. Obviously she doesn’t need it.

I honestly need a cover for 9 to 5 cause this song worked so well. The backing vocals and the trumpets supported the main vocals amazingly during the rising climax and it was just- 👌 *MMM* !! Like seriously best performance in the season. Gotta love Patti man.

Patti was doing great with those notes! She would of beat all and came out on top if. She was giving them her all! She's one of my favorite singers and I'm proud of her on how far she made it!
Patti remains the real deal. That voice is everything. My favorite moment is seeing her a Caesars in concert we headed to the escalator and could hear her still singing.

Thanks to CZcams I've got the chance to witness so many of her live performances that even if it's muted, I can recognize it's the amazing Patti.

Based on quality, skill and control the older Divas would win, and should win, barnone.
But we have to remember that the voice changes with time. And so their vocal cords may not be as flexible or as powerful. For example, Jennifer Hudson's voice is at its peak now. If she guards it well and takes care of her instrument, she'll be singing for the next 50 years, yes. But not at the intensity or power she has now.
As with everything else in life, nothing last forever. But I thank God I got to see Ms. Patti sing in this type of format. The quality of her voice is super refined and Beautifully breathtaking. Just a joy to watch and listen... Thank you Ms. Patti.
