If your Volvo's Time for Regular Service Message is on and you have had the vehicle serviced then this is the procedure for shutting it off. Sometimes the service center can forget to shut this message off and occasionally it might take 2 or 3 iterations of the procedure before the light goes off. This video is applicable to the Volvo V70, C70, S60, S80, and XC9, years 99, 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, and 07.
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:
    2001 Volvo V70
    2002 Volvo V70
    2003 Volvo V70
    2004 Volvo V70
    2005 Volvo V70

Thanks for taking the time to teach this. I just did it successfully on my 2003 Volvo S60 after my code reader said no faults and getting an oil change.

For 2001 and up, with the key removed from the ignition, keep pressing the odometer button. Insert the key in ignition directly to POS II. When the yellow triangle appears and starts flashing, release the button then turn the ignition off. May help if the trip odometer is set to T1 (not sure if it's really needed).

It worked as explained in video in my V70 2.5TD made in 2000. The instrument panel was installed in many modells from late 99 to 07, it was called II series,
I applied it every time engine oil service is done.
Thanks a lot for your reminder.

Pretty good little tip. I have a 2007 Volvo S40. It worked almost exactly as you said, but my trip always zeroed out and the trip mileage never came back to the previous amount. Nevertheless, I just timed it the same as the example and even though my trip mileage stayed at zero, I turned the car off and pulled out the keys (like the example). Seems to have worked!

This message has driven me crazy for over a year! *******On my 2006 VOLVO s60 I had to switch the key to position II as soon as the yellow warning light, "!", started to flash. I also had it on T1, NOT T2. And I used the valet key, not sure if it works with the electronic key. Good luck, don't give up!

My procedure was different but very similar. For my 2005 S80, I had to hold the reset button on Trip 1, switch to key position 2, and quickly back to position 1 when the "!" indicator began to blink. The message would not reset if I let it blink in position 2. Thanks for the video and getting me going in the right direction.

With mine, I had to turn to position 1, to press the button until the odometer went to 0.0 and then went to position 2. When the orange ‘!’ Starts blink cycle, immediately let go of odometer button before it stops flashing and it will reset message. The odometer will not return to original number however. There must be some variance from car to car as to why this doesn’t always work as the video shows. On my 2002 your video worked fine. On my 2005 it doesn’t.

I think that it correct, but the service light is on again as soon as I turn the ignition to the two position. (It also sais 45 or something). why ?

+BODEK We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c

"Engine requires service" thats the message that appears when I start driving. All liquids are fine, but this guide doesn't help anyways.

On the 20th try I finally figured it out. As the triangle is flashing release the button. Then it will reset
