Nick Murray: The kind of guy who makes sure that his video is 9 minutes and 11 seconds long.
I'm just delighted that the length of this video is 9:11
Ah, yes. Sports cars without adaptive cruise, lane keeping, and nose-wipeing. Many of us can not only live without that, but appreciate the experience just driving.
The 993 in riviera blue looks absolutely amazing
Nice.
I've a 1996 993 C2 iris blue metallic, 66,000 miles, 6-speed manny tranny, varioram, LSD. No CEL, no oil leaks. Multi-show full-concours winner. I do my own maintenance. I'm never selling it.
Bless the person who specced this car. No sunroof is 🐐.
Always liked these 993s since childhood, NFS III: Hot Pursuit on PS1, they where the main cars with the Diablo, Viper, & Corvette
Just awesome, love the 993 with the aero kit and sport seats.
Oh it’s so beautiful 🤤 no sunroof, low options
Riviera blue
Just magnificent 😊..
We have our Macan GTS in rivera
Best colour in any Porsche model..
Class
That blue is stunning 😮
I was 16 when this car was released, what a work of art Nick. 🤩
Beautiful color and a simple spec, dream machine!
Smiled for 9 minutes
Thank you both
Beautiful car. Thanks for sharing this experience Nick.
Another great video from Sloans. Keep ‘‘em coming!
This car is gorgeous 😍
Lovely to see, thanks Nick. Hope you’re keeping well 🙏
Such a gorgeous machine! Thanks for the great content, Nick! You ROCK!
9.11 minutes, nice detail there.
The front intake dividing slate gives it a 959 look to it too. What a treat this car is!
With these cars, you are spoiling us
we fkng need you! do more videos, stay with us forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nikki, great video! That color is so beautiful, glad to see you back from hibernation.
Nick! Buy it, we’re waiting because we already live vicariously through your awesome experiences!
We gotta get one of these too at some point
Brilliant as always, what a car and colour 👍👍👍
Enjoyed the review. Really well done.
Impression after first 3 seconds: Stunning!
Very nice. This Aerokit looks so sleek.
Beautiful car! You are so privileged to have driven it.
What a stunning and very special car. Nick you keep saying least is best so I’ll take that on board cheers 🇬🇧
Lovely car.
A time capsule gem!
I just bought a manual 2024 918 Cayman S and the only option was the Chalk paint color. In 27 years I know it won't be as special as the 993 here but man, I know I will always enjoy just the simplicity of the car and just the fun of driving it.
One of my most beautiful cars. Timeless shape.
super cool car
Fabulous looking car in mint condition. Refreshing to see a car without countless options!
Beauty !❤
Beautiful! After this weekend road trip out to California and back, has less mileage than my December 2018 delivered car... and looks just as clean. AMAZING.
...Apparently Nick Murray is still alive! Mate, it's great to see some new content. I was so happy to see your new video pop up that I felt like I'd just caught up with an old friend.
I saw you filming this on the highway in Connecticut! I was on my way up to Boston in my GTI. I have a video of the green Cayenne camera car following the blue 993!
Another awesome post. I hope you do a Sloan 911 review every week in perpetuity
The 993 with only 285bhp means you can really drive it without breaking too many speed limits. A modern day Carrera will rarely see 5000rpm+. This is perfect.
I wonder which "modern day" Carrera you own and drive.
I see >5000 rpm in mine a lot.
I don't own one but have driven a few, including the 993 4S and a 991.2 CS. My point is a 992 GT3 is travelling at about 75mph at the top of 2nd if I'm not mistaken. At the top of 3rd you would be arrested in all countries but Germany I suspect! @@thefridgeman
Sick sick sicker ❤
Nick, I just live well filmed 911s with peaceful, graceful music. A great soothing opportunity. Maybe for plus you could prepare extended content, no commentary, just great music. Thank you.
That is clean
After many years finally YT let me know that you posted a video. Wow, you must be getting on their good side.
Oh the disappointment! :)
An over used adjective I know, but just awesome Nick
She’s a beaut, Clark.
Rivera blue😍
My dream car is a 993 turbo in Riviera blue. The RS also had thinner glasses and obviously the 3.8 engine with speedline magnesium wheels.
Unicorn spec. Amazing!
How confusing the PTS blues are btw , the light ones .
Stunning base 911
9:11 running time because there's no 9:93. Good job Nick.
If you like my finding, please review Macan T for me. I left one more comment before. I really like to get your review on T. Have a 991.2 GTS and trying to replace my daily 2015 Mini Cooper S. Dont want to spend $$ for Macan S or GTS but hate SQ5 infotainment screens. Please review it for me!
The Sloan guy had a very good looking Audi Q7 dressed in ABT sitting in the background - great taste 👌
5:20 Yep, that was the advertising video narrated by Patrick Stewart.
i love and hate this channel with equal passion.
Come on the hate is stronger
I thought all USDM cars got the sun-roof by default, and I have never seen hollows on anything but a turbo or C4S. I guess he would have had to have it delivered in Germany to get around some of those default options.
You didn't tell him that the rear wiper delete reduced 10 horses.
Nick's perfect 911...except for that
I paused the vid & spent a good 1/2hr looking up vehicle specs as soon as I saw them for the 993. Although I own a German spec N55 135i, it's also blue, manual, 275kmh, 6cyl turbo, no sunroof, no idrive...
Completely different car but I like the lack of options for simplicity & less weight.
Hey Nick any plans to review the new Cayenne S V8?
Edward Norton will definitely never sell this car.
964 and 993 will always be the last hand built, iconic cars. Two prime 911's without a doubt. The new ones are faster of course but they never quite captured the magic that these cars had.
Idk, the 997 feels like a really good 993 to me.
Warranty: thoughts and prayers...
Amazing car, love it all, sunroof delete, perfectly optioned….except that stupid aero kit. Why anyone in there left mind would want that kit is beyond me. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder of the checkbook I guess.
Very nice. Be interested in Nick's opinion of base 964 vs base 993... pros and cons. Seems like Singer love 964's as their donor cars. 😊
Singer have said in interviews they pick the 964 because they are cheaper and people are less concerned about ripping into a 964 where as a 993 is more sacred ground for enthusiasts. The 964 has a few weak points (transmission, suspension, engine) which the Singer conversions correct.
@@NickMurray OK. Thanks for replying. I guess once Singer has worked their magic their cars are 964's in name only. 👍
LSD and X51 Powerkit are missing
I'm more curious about how much those contact for price 993s are.
Shame they put those black bumper bits on the rear for the US market
Imagine going to all that trouble and expense to build a special car like that, and then hardly drive it over the past 30 years.
video length 9:11 - nice...
You should review bicycles. 😬
So Nick, how do you tell Albert from William and why don't they both accompany you on your test drives?
Please helicopter video Ec 130 b4
Beautiful car!
Opinion requested: What do you think of using this chin spoiler on a C2 but without upgrading the spoiler. I like the look but not the big wing and have been considering it for my C2.
So, what kind of offer would it take for him to sell this car?
3:25 the speed at which other cars overtake is a clear indication of how much of a slow driver you are 🤭
Lovely car and specs but the real question is: would you have driven it had it been yellow?
Now that every new Porsche is grey white silver or black I have started to embrace the yellow Porsches
That is the perfect car to turn into a proper RS “re-creation”. Being a non wiper/non sunroof car.
You could put an RS kit/wheels on. And RS door cards. And put all of the OEM stuff to one side, in storage. And you wouldn’t need to drill holes or do anything. Pop one kit off and put another on. Same with the door cards. Pop one off and put the RS cards on.
That’s what I would do for sure.
Being a non sunroof car, you’d fool most people. I’m sure…
I find the ‘so rare’ thing so funny too. What’s the difference between a blue ‘95 and ‘96 car? Hopefully not just that the ‘96 cost more $$?
There are a lot of differences under the skin (mostly engine), Porsche were a bit broke during this time so improvements that were designed for the 993 from '94 were trickled in over time as they became ready. Interesting one of my favorite differences 95 to 96 was the change in the horn. The 95 still has a classic airhorn the 96 has a modern horn 🙂
Main difference on the '96s was the VarioRam induction... and I believe no basket handle.
If it's vario ram it should have 285hp.
No options… those seats 🧐.
Just wondering, Did the mannequin break up with you?
Sadly... she said I have no social skills 💁♂
Nick, you exist to own this 993. Open your substantial wallet and take it home!
Keep saying "base engine" a lot.
Unless you had the WLS kit, all (normally aspirated) 993 had the same engine, with a modest bump in hp after 1996.
Wow, 9 mins when by way too fast
Unfortunately it looks like any other Porsche.
