Thank you, Dave,
I feel extremely humbled by your kind words.
The next big trip for the Blonde Italian Babe is in July, for Naschine GDR3 Mackay to Cape York.
Thanks, mate. 🙏
No thank you Pete.
Great story telling and more so great effort Pete 👍👍 double thumbs up
G’day Pete. I’m doing an east to west crossing mid next year and have pretty much planned the route, however I’m interested in which route you took. Any chance you can roughly list the way? Cheers, Michael
These episodes are a good idea. I’m enjoying them very much 🍻
They're not that popular, but those that do listen to them seem to like them.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV Just keep at it...perseverance gets you through.
Hello Dave; Thanks for sharing those two stories. The first story about camping reminds me why I tend to camp in caravan parks...toilets & Showers... The second story was inspiring, the ability of one man to achieve so much. Thank you.....David...Adelaide...Tiger 900GT & Scrambler.....
Thanks Dave for listening.
My take on it is , Wild camping has its draw backs as you have said but camping in general on a long trip for me saves the penny’s on what expenses the trip will cost overall . Camp sites do have the security/washing facilities/ possibly food shop too which makes it more appealing to camp . If the weather. Turns bad then yes find a room . I’m off for a month in July on the Ktm 890 r & will dream of the comfy bed by the end of it but I’ll enjoy it while I still can 😁. I do look forward to your trips and reviews on Mad Tv . Keep up the good work and ride safe 👌
Thanks Glen
Great story telling, Dave! Interesting music selection too! Do you play the old six string perhaps yourself!?
Yes I did play guitar and piano
Cheers Dave
I love camping. At the start of the month the Mrs suggested we go away on the bikes for her birthday. I got so excited for the first camping trip of the year. When I asked if she was OK riding with luggage for the first time I got the look and she said 'the only luggage you need is some smart clothes and your wallet. Your taking me to a nice cottage near a good restaurant'. She didn't call me a pillock out loud but I knew where I stood. Ill learn one of these years.
I will admit having no weight on the bike and a hot shower at the end of the ride was pretty awesome. Most importantly she had a great time.
Have a good one .
Paul
Oh yeah. This format is great. Hearing about other folks adventures is really interesting even when it only comes with stills.
Well I can't get my Mrs anywhere near a bike.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV Same here.
Very lekker to catch up on some older content I missed 👌
That is old
Camping story had me in stitches...true on so many levels but yet we carry on :)
Exactly!
i love the podcast format along with the vlog style videos, so cool :). You guys don’t only make me wish i owned a dirtbike, but also i am also a little jealous i dont have the chance to explore australia. I am really fascinated with those australian gorillas :) hehe
thanks for listening.
A good mate of mine Muzza just rode from East to west on a DR650 and almost back as he is still on his way mostly solo and on remote dirt tracks. He has done it before on a WR250r.
Well done Muzzer
Next time you chat with Nick Sellick, would you mind asking about the centre stand for the Desert X? Apparently there is an issue, but no-one can tell me what it is (including my local Ducati Dealer)...
Will do.
Jeez and I thought 110Nm was a tight axlenut on a dr650 (especially with the stock included 10cm long tool) I bought a decent length sliding 1/2" Tbar which lives inside a waterpipe that I cut up as a breaker bar which stays in the bikes aftermarket tooltube - and I stand on it to undo lol. Love these podcasts (I actually like camping but i dont do dehydrated stuff - cans heated in the fire work for me) weight and bulk can definatly be a issue though with carrying water/cans/inflatable mattress/sleeping bag/tent etc etc
Thanks Daniel. My favourite camp food at present is a can of thai red tuna curry mixed with premoistened Basmati packet rice. Try that one.
That Pete is one helluva man! Great stories keep up the good work!
There's a few there.
Love your stuff. Gotta say...you guys always bring up taking care if business so to speak. And one of your videos you stated its good to put the camera in other faces sometimes makes great video. For the life if me, everytime i think of you and madtv, i think of the sidney trip i think it was on the 690's. When you had bad food and had the galloping shits and they put the camera in your face... Have no idea why that specific clip has stuck in my head....its not the clip when he used the gate to stop himself...its a crapping clip. LOL... Long time follower and love your stuff, informative, fun, makes you want to get out and ride.
Thanks DRZ for the memories.
Dave, like you I am a 0600hrs man - your camping rendition is quite familiar 🤣
Good :). I hate crapping in the bush
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV much better than in your pants 😳
Hippopotamus aquatic release?
Great stuff Dave! Had me laughing out loud a few times 😂
Glad you enjoyed it
Now we know what time in the morning to call you....just as you start to concentrate.
Exactly
damn Dave that's awesome and committed. great video 👍
A few more in the series.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV can't wait
Davo is a great story teller.....
Thank you
I was watching old Australian cop shows on youtube and saw a character that looks a lot like you. Commander Dave Darcy.
What country are you from Rand? Yep that's me in a previous life.
@@MotorcycleAdventureDirtbikeTV I live in Victoria, British Columbia Canada. I was an accountant for 35 years.
@@randtournerWell there you go. :)
While camping, I would go the extra mile to eat foods that are not dehydrated. Eating well is one of the enjoyment of moto camping, but balance the gear.
Good point
I laughed out loud at the morning shit story! That's totally me except I have no real set schedule. The last one of those at my fishing camp, as a result of the previous nights hot dog dinner...not good.
Ha ha :)
Motorcycle camping is an acquired taste. Or smell… 😂
Fire Dawgs are always up for a challenge! 👨🚒
Yep
Had a mate pre order the Desert X and after riding it sold it for Multistrata. Said the bike was a horrible ride.
That's why your Piss Take. That's nonsense.
crikey Dave, just coz you got mooned by Nugget, did we really need that mental image as well ? 🤣🤣
You heard it first on MADTV
👌👌
Thanks
I think you are doing it wrong if you are trying to turn rehydrated food into something better than eating at home or whatnot. Camping is a chance to eat the things you usually don't eat at home such as hotdogs and a can of chili to go with it or other things that you can cook directly over the fire. Also, things like junk food that I typically never or rarely eat when I am at home. Even if the food isn't perfect the simple fact of eating out at your campsite seems to make it taste better. And really if I am going camping it's usually because I am taking a bike trip to start with. The trip is about exploring and the journey and staying at hotels is really boring and expensive even if you can shower and have a nice bed to sleep on.
Thanks Matt
How often can you say you witnessed a sunrise AND a lunar eclipse in opposite directions?😂
Very good point.
