There have actually been cases of mothers killing their own children for purely insane reasons. Louise Porton from the UK killed her two daughters because they, and I quote, "got in the way of her sexlife". Or Shanynthia Gardner from Memphis who stabbed four of her children to death, with evidence pointing towards either post-partum depression or schizophrenia.
In the show she killed them so that her husband wouldn't have them, supposedly breaking him emotionally
She killed both and was going to kill herself too
Probably to “help” her kids to also escape the abusive husband.

The idea isn't half-bad, could be incredibly interesting if they made it more about how psycho some of them are, instead of drama. Sad that this unique idea wasn't executed well.

For instance, Taylor's fingers being cut off, they could've just taken it out of her already wounded hand. That's the writers fault for over extending.
Idk the idea of it all being rehabilitation is just dumb...Like there are no aspects of this that could possibly be perceived as rehabilitation.

Netflix seriously needs to focus more on quality, not quantity. Even their decent movies all have the exact same bland color scheme, makes it look like all the color was bled out of the frame.

Have you not seen the 70 year old body builder grandma? If she’s been a martial artist and maintained her physical abilities, it’s still possible for her to be a good fighter even in old age. Hell, Jackie Chan is in his 70s and can still move.

nah its blantantly copied from sdr2's (super danganronpa 2) plot
its basically a murder mystery visual novel game and as someone who has played it, i can say that the i-land is way too similar to it. the i-land was also released later than when sdr2 was released (sdr2 was released in 2014 i think? and this was was from 2019)
in sdr2 all the characters were in a simulation, if their avatars die, they die irl. just like in the i-land. they used to be shitty people who did lots of fucked up stuff to th world and basically caused a war. the people in the i-land were also criminals.

We never got to see what Brody did but they seem to point out he was a rapist. He wasn't ugly, don't see why he couldn't get a woman to sleep with him without committing rape. I guess he was just a bully.

I have to admit, I actually enjoyed this show. Loved the concept. I did feel like this was supposed to be a show with at least two seasons. It all felt rushed. Like parts of the show were missing.

With all the things they had to work with, this show had potential. It could have been a totally smart show with an interesting storyline but they didn't know how to work with it and that's sad. Also the acting was annoying for the most part.

Actually there are different kinds of wild bananas. Most don’t have large seeds and just little flesh. They’re usually smaller, sweeter and sometimes a different color with some seeds inside but not too many or too big.

There's a theory that The OA isn't really cancelled. If you recall, the show ended on the set of a show with the actress suffering some form of trauma. The theory is that the show within the show was cancelled. A couple of reddit posts have said they've spotted some of the actors from the OA hanging out together for lunch or whatnot. I think we're all in for a huge treat.

The thing about remembering how to resuscitate someone despite not remembering being a nurse doesn't seem that unrealistic, IIRC people with amnesia can still retain skills that they know by heart. Though that doesn't really help this show much.

Hekko you must not have watched many shows then. The first season of Prison Break is amazing. Breaking bad all seasons were pretty entertaining. Walking dead first couple seasons were good. 13 reasons why season 1 was good. Money heist was funny, sad, nerve racking. On my block was also cool with less budget for production. Those are all the series I have watched. Each one was single handedly 10x better than this show. Everyone has different opinions but i still recommend you watch those shows rather than this. 😂

One point that annoyed the heck out of me is how both Chase and Cooper even got on death row for killing the mother in the first place? Based on the memories we were shown from both Chase's fake memory (which is STUPID if she didn't do anything but that's another rant) and what actually happened, the state would not have met the burden of proof to even indict them for capital murder. I guess I shouldn't expect someone to do basic law research when all the writing on this show was slipshod and pedestrian.
I wondered through the whole show why tf they have to write "property of I-Land" on every thing that is in this *SIMULATION*

@The Cost the whole stab scene didn't even make any sense. She killed her children and then she was driving her car into the ocean in one scene. Then she went back to stab herself? What? Why? Did she leave the car in the ocean and swim back. And why go back to the husband at all if she was just going to kill herself. Nothing about that made any sense
@The Cost this show had so many flaws it would take hours to go through them all but video did a good job. The writing was terrible and full of plot holes. How do you not know your fingers are missing or even check when you wake up with a bandaged hand? What?
The was I see K.C. there were 3 scenes in the flashbacks. She kills the children. She drives the car into the ocean after killing them. She stabs herself in front of her husband (just stab him, so stupid). No matter how you order these scenes they don't make any sense. I'm amazed anyone could enjoy this, the acting was terrible and the plot was nonsense but you like what you like I guess lol

@@arctic_haze The OA is a show on Netflix that just got cancelled. It had a great story, a mixture of mystery and sci-fi with great characters as well. They had planned 5 seasons, the show was cancelled after the second. People are pretty pissed.

i thought this was going to be a Lost too, it wasn't, and it entertained me. oh. and the fact that this one actually referenced Lost was a lot of fun to me.

I was thinking the same thing...i guess they were tryna show nature vs nurture and if they would return to previous behavior even if they didn't know who they were🤷♀️ but why were their memories returning if that's the case? Or was that apart of the wardens plan to mess up the experiment and they were never supposed to get their memories back🤦♀️ and why would they do this with people that are so much older now instead of experimenting on younger people who have a better chance to change...this show was poorly written

@@Cxrter LOL Honestly, I wondered that myself, then I just the other day saw her in the Into the Dark anthology series "Down" episode and she was SUPERB in that. The poor writing is probably the main reason she was so bad in The I-Land.
The only hire description they had for these characters were "young and dumb attractive people", because the showrunners got confused and thought they were doing a season of Ex on the beach.

Dude, the scene where theyre in the back of the truck and she makes a weird sudden movement, the guy flinches and then an awkward silence ensues for like 2 seconds, and then he beats her... Wtf i had to rewind like 10 times while laughing out loud and crying cz it was so out of nowhere and badly done. It made zero sense

Agreed. The premise was interesting enough to have my attention but man it is written so poorly. Why the hell is the mystery gone in episode 3? Why did they confirm Chase's claim immediately the next episode instead of allowing the air of doubt among the group remain longer? Why did the researchers not remove the damn shark and gun after finding out about the tempering? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS.

episode 3 killed this story line as we all knew it was an experiment -and for me it just lost its appeal.
Its like telling you ' who done it' right at the beginning of the movie
So it turns out an old woman was capable of taking out 3-4 guards at once in hand to hand combat.
