Angelina wrote the lyrics for this song about her late grandfather, and the artwork for the video was done by Angelina and her grandmother. It was also produced by a Norwegian duo Stargate. There are a couple things that can be taken from all this... 1)The whole thing really shows that Republic Records is giving Angelina the artistic freedom that we had all hoped they would. ...and 2) given this full freedom, Angelina is going to be producing many, many masterpieces in the coming years.

Million Miles is the clearest evidence that only Angelina's body is 14 years old. Her mind and her soul are MUCH older.
Even Angelina said in the Variety article, “I feel like I’ve lived many years more than my age.” So she is definitely an "old soul."

Joyce, I was about to agree and then realized we don't just have to imagine what she's going to give the world .. she's been doing it all along .. she's already given us over 120 videos of amazingly varied songs .. which include four of her own .. and all of them are given to us from her deep and exquisite heart. In so many ways she's given us the gift of her generous heart .. we get to see and be the recipients of how she honors and respects every single writer and composer of the songs that she covers and the musicians that play when she sings.
I'm so glad you said that, Joyce, because it made me realize how much i receive from her that way .. and how grateful I am to her and to all who love her and feel her as I do.
2020 may have been one of the toughest years for so many because Covid added so much to all the other issues and problems we had been suffering.. but 2020 is also the year that a little girl from Norway who sang barefoot in her white dresses and with flowers in her hair became more available to us and to our hearts with gifts showing up from her almost daily. And .. the gratitude I feel is not just for her .. but for her mother and her family who started to video everything she was doing from the start .. and have shared so much with us freely and generously ..
I am realizing as i write this that my heart is full .. and I am so grateful for her, for her family, and for all of you that share your love and respect for her openly and with joy. I would not be surviving these times as well as I am without all of you .. and I am grateful for Angelina's spirit and her devotion to her God-given talent from such an early age.

She should probably be aware that fans know of hers and her family's losses, but now her dedication to include everyone else's personal losses? What's next - is she going to never wear shoes or something out of consideration and to draw attention to others less fortunate? Oh wait... yes... her maturity is only underscored by this dedication's maturity. This is NOT new for her. WE need to get used to this. I think she earns huge kudos for that alone.

Once again, Angelina demonstrates that she can do things that others can't. One could talk all day about the technical aspects of the video style and her usual exquisite vocal control/choices. But what sweeps that all away is the emotional impact on the listener as individual people and memories from our past come flooding back.
In the same way that she gives her "wishes" to other musicians before a performance on how things should unfold she said she "hopes" this song will find a place in our hearts. What she leaves out of that is upon our hearing this she will be performing emotional heart surgery on us to deposit it there.

what surprised me the most is that this song is just pure Angelina, she stayed true to her self, nothing is fake, no voice twisting, no big sound, not many special effects, no genre she doesn't like, ...simply Angelina, she expresses her honest feelings in this song, she sings from the bottom of her heart. That really touched me. Why did it surprise me at first, I don't know, because that's the way she is, that's the way she always was, I should've known better.

She has a way of riding the crests and dips of the music, but not giving you the payoff where you expect. Part of Angelina’s magic is making you listen because you’re hearing something that’s new and different each time. What’s not different, though, is her ability to express so openly and sincerely her immersion in the song. In this case, she gives up a very personal look into her life and what’s important to her. And Angelina does it her way-surprising us with something different and moving in her first release under contract. I think it’s a signal that the reasons we’ve loved Angelina’s singing in the past will continue.
