I run a 15/38 setup on my XR430 (400 with big bore kit) and it will do power wheelies in 3rd and tops out at about 145km/h. Your bike is very nice and clean. I know here in Australia you would easily get the $4500 you wanted for that bike.
Thumbs up on the xr... Got mine setup as supermoto. It's now all black with a little orange has the motocross rear fender and is a blast to ride... The only way it could get better is A.D. electric start :)
I've currently got 15t front and 44t rear and it tops out around 80 but is pushing it to drive at 65 for extended periods. for highway speeds without beating up the motor you want to go to a 16 front and 40t rear. that way you can just swap the front to a 14 or 15 if you want to get rowdy and pop wheelies, or run the 16t front for a highway trip. I have 16t front and 39t rear on my DRZ400SM and it tops out at 100mph, but doesnt like wheelies except in first. thanks for the commen
Yeah I want to add electric start with the TRX400 quad parts, but to do it right you have to change out the crank. And I dont feel like tearing into this mint low use motor just yet. But maybe someday

Look up xr400 supermoto burnout and that is what my bike looks like except black instead of white... Used to run the sv tail light but didn't have a good mount so it got shredded by the rear tire.

You don’t need turn signals in Texas to be street legal. I had to have this bike inspected before the title was changed over to street legal. It was 100% street legal in Texas

well i found a really clean xr650l for 2k 4200 miles so.. just adjusted the forks and rear shock all the way stiff put some street meat on her and a taller front sprocket. SM converison costs like elevendiebillion dollars. i'll never do that. especially since it doesn't even much that much unless you really push in the turns anyways. thought i would love the L to be shorter as i am 5"6

I got one off Ebay... Just type in dirt bike tail light or enduro tail light... Drill a couple holes in the fender and bolt it up.

I am pretty sure that they kept making xr400r's after 2004 but they stopped making xr250r after 2004.
