As part of the Super Megaforce Rangers powers, Gosei has given them the ability to not only transform into Legendary Power Rangers, but to actually unlock "New Powers" never before seen on Earth. These "new power" sets are adapted from installments of the Super Sentai franchise that were never adapted into the Power Rangers franchise. But, they have never been explained! Is there a reason for this? Can we find an explanation?

My theory for this mystery: They were a secret elite teams of Rangers, from all over the world, that have never been seen to the public. Some can be affiliated with the government, or was chosen by a mystical being (similar to Zordon).

All of those "new powers" could have easily been explained in the show as teams from alien planets like Orion's, I'm legit disappointed that they didn't even bother right then and there.
I am glad that they went that route with the Supersonic rangers in later comics; I hope they cover the rest of them, maybe even continuing to tie them back to previous Ranger teams.
My headcanon is that they're all alien teams, sharing the same Morphing Grid as the Rangers on Earth. This would explain, among other things, the link between the MMPR White Ranger, the Thunderzords, and the Squadron team: the latter would have been active on their planet at the same time as the MMPR were on Earth, making it possible for Zordon and Alpha to find their signature energy within the Morphing Grid, and, in desperation, refine it into both the "Power of Thunder" and the "White Light of Good" to create the Thunderzords and White Ranger respectively.
Tommy must've seen all of those teams in action during his extensive studying, and he got around to documenting/archiving them.

I’ve come up with backstories for all of these teams, but the simplest one to explain would be the Squadron Rangers: in my mind, they were a team on Eltar that Zordon was a part of. He based the Thunderzords and the White Ranger powers on a team he was familiar with.

My theory is that the Squadron rangers were Gosei's original team on Earth, and are the living embodiment of the Thunder Zords. (Because 'Gosei' Sentai Dairanger) and the team's 'essence' was destroyed in a prior battle, leaving Saba, the White Ranger as the survivor, but he was badly damaged and placed into the saber for healing. (hence why the saber can talk) (Placed in the Saber, in a similar manner as Zordon was in a time rift, but...For a good reason), and overtime Saba's spirit fades away, his mission complete after finding (and training) a worthy successor (Tommy). This explains why Saba stops talking.
Robo Knight being a sentient zord is the last reminder of the 'Squadron' ranger team

4:41 - I think the most egregious thing about that scene in Super Megaforce is that in Gokaiger, Gokai Red turned into Vul-Eagle from “Taiyo Sentai Sun Vulcan”. However, in Super Megaforce, Troy instead turns into Mighty Morphin Red (this is why during Troy’s Legendary Ranger Mode sequence, he’s standing in front of the sun and adjusting his mask in the same way that Gokai Red did when he changed to Sun-Vulcan). This means that instead of just using established Power Rangers for that scene, Saban went out of their way to use pre-Zyuranger suits and made original footage with it.
Now, I’ll assume that Tzachor probably thought that Vul-Eagle looked too outdated and bizarre compared to the other Sentai-only Rangers, but if they were going to replace him, why not replace the other Rangers, too? Why double down on using these Rangers if it only complicates the continuity of Power Rangers? I was annoyed when they used Gokaiger footage of pre-Zyuranger Rangers, but the fact that this scene was made specifically for Super Megaforce irks me.

I have a few theories if you want to hear them.
The Tommy connection as to why he has all these sentai logos and emblems. They are left over research from the Forever Red Mission looking for more allies to fight the machine Empire. Also left overs from the video he created on the history and legacy of the Power Rangers. He didn't find enough to put them in.
Also Squadron Rangers and the MMPR connection. I like to think this was a team that was allied with Zordon at one time. The team either died in battle or vanished with age. Remember the old junk in like the broken Alpha unit in the sub basement of the command center I like to think Zordon had there broken stuff just and when Zedd came he used there old shit to jerry rigg some power ups for the rangers. White was originally a Squadron Ranger and only his morpher and Zord were fully intact. Zordon just had to convert the powers to work with the MMPR and turned them to become a Power coin and power morpher.

I want to back up on this Tommy Connection Theory. On one of the episodes of Dino Thunder, Kira and Tommy had a conversation over old photos of Tommy. One of them was the old MMPR Cast, the other was a photo of Mercer and a 3rd Research Partner. After explaining the picture, Tommy said to place it in the trash pile. As the camera pans to the box of junk, we see folders with Sentai Logos on them (Flashman and Fiveman). I think this can better add up to the theory that these Sentai Rangers used in Super Megaforce might have been legit all along but never really fully revealed.
(OmegaRider99, 2011) Posted an image detailing the various sentai logos scattered around Tommy's Lab. This might hint at some background lore with other Ranger teams that the TV show hasn't featured at all. It could be that Tommy had connection of other Ranger teams from various dimensions and other parts of the world which would explain the whole "We're always watching you" thing form Wes in Super Ninja Steel and how they have the trans-dimensional portal device.

Theory: Auric the Conqueror, Ninjor, the Magna Defender, RoboKnight, and the Blue Senturion are all the same species. Gosei created them each to guard the planet/the human race. They are the same species as King Mondo, but Gosei is a higher form that is powerful enough to make powerful creations, unlike King Mondo who can create life but is easily defeatable.

*Basically they can make them as a faraway ranger teams from ancient time, different planets, galaxy, or even dimensions* . Gosei managed to restore and connect to their powers thru morphin grid, borrowing their power into ranger keys solely to fight againts armada. It only needs less than a minute to explain. Clap to saban. 👏
Same case with 'Gokaiger'. They can make gokaiger as an ancient free spirited pirate squadron/rangers that opposed armada long ago in faraway space. They are capable to gain an access of every rangers power in morphin grid thru their morpher & ranger keys. Thats why gosei borrow their gears.
*They can make them as a nameless ranger* . Leaving X rangers as their initial. X means unidentified. Also X can derived from cross symbol from pirate's jolly roger.
So it makes sense enough to name the mode : *X mode* rather than lame super megaaa 😒
X mode sounds more catchy and powerful.

My theory about the "mysterious ranger teams" was: It was some previous projects Zordon had worked on, kinda like some prototypes to figure out what the Mighty Morphin team might need in their arsenal. Those prototypes was then kept filed in the Command Center. Before Zordon and Alpha 5 left for Eltar(?)(cant remember the name of that planet) he gave the files to Gosei. Gosei carried on with Zordons work while keeping an eye on other ranger teams through the Morphin Grid. When the timeline came to Megaforce most to the prototypes was a complete "new" team, explaining the "never before seen" teams and some had full potentials unlocked through surtain events. I know its not the most thought through theory but its one where I would have thought: "Make sense"

I want people to stop saying that the Diaranger powers (Squadron Ranger Powers) were not used. They most certainly were it was the 5 main suits that were never seen on Earth. As MMPR White was the Squadron Sixth ranger suit. They were the Thunder Powers. Simply adjust to leave the costume the to appear the same at that time. The Z-wave from the end of In Space wiped out the Villian whose presence required the secrecy thus allowing the Mega Force team to use the powers without the Subterfuge.

  • @soumyadeeproychowdhury8055

Many of guys don't know but in some frames Gorenger and Jetmam were actually seen. So its confirm the pre-zyuranger (Gorenger to Jetman)teams also exist. I think the pre-zordon era rangers. I think it will be better if it explored. Even if Himetsu Sentai King Ohoger adapted, it will be first team of rangers.

Super sonic Power Rangers were originally known as Chiryu Sentai Fiveman in Japan. It's also accurate that they were introduced as rangers that were came from other planet because in It's original source, the members of Super Sonic rangers were actually aliens that escaped from there home planet alongside with a robot who became their guardinas after it was attacked by forces of evil led by Empress Medow, additional info is that all of the members of Super Sonic Rangers AKA Fiveman were actually siblings and became teachers in planet Earth after they grow up. Sadly this Super Sentai Series almost killed the franchise in Japan but got saved by the other series after. Here in the Philippines 🇵🇭, Chiryu Sentai Fiveman is one of the most popular Sentai Series during the 90's especially to the 90's kids like me.

I mean the explanation for these unknown teams is kind of a simple one, There all the Super Sentai teams we never got in America.
So it means that this team of super pirate rangers has the power to tap into the Core of the Morphing Grid it self. Thus they could call upon the power of "any team that has tap into the morphing grid."

  • @theguy9777
    @theguy9777 Před 2 lety

i have a theory that solves the unadapted sentai teams mystery. basically the morphing grid is basically like a huge ocean (not literally) universes that happen to drift into the grid gain access to power ranger powers. one scientist found out of the existing of the grid and tried to gain its power (like in beast morphers) however the plan failed and caused a breaking in the grid, causing a glitch in the grid that caused some universes to be blocked out from the grid. however they're ranger teams were not forgotten, just partially being unknown. (also if they returned in a power rangers special they would call themselves super sentai because power rangers was not a decided name for the teams at the time of there link to the grid) that glitch in the grid would kind of also be like in the spiderverse movie where objects and people randomly get teleported to other universes. it would explain why the thunder zords were in mmpr

  • @KotCR

I'm not sure why people got so upset about Super Mega Force having some Ranger transformations from Sentai-only seasons. I'm not sure why "they're from Power Rangers stationed on other planets that never came to Earth" is not an acceptable explanation for them. While most of them have come to Earth at some point, how is it any different from them using Aquitian Ranger, In Space or Lost Galaxy powers? These powers were all stationed elsewhere in the galaxy from Earth. Heck, did Lost Galaxy even come to Earth in their own series (they were only there for the first episode and they weren't Rangers at that point IIRC), wasn't the show's location almost exclusively space colony Terra Venture, Miranoi and the extended galaxy?
Zordon knew about the Aquitar Rangers before we saw them on screen, and it was heavily implied he had already met them and knew of them before they were first featured, yet we went almost three whole seasons without any mention of them, so I don't see why people see it as such a stretch that Gosei would have equivalent knowledge of non-Earthbound Ranger Teams without them needing a focus episode first. I don't think there was ever any real need to explain it, and it gives the franchise something cool to expand upon in the future via comics or an animated series or whatever.
And for my part, I think the variety was nice, and helped the canon and universe feel that much bigger for it. Don't get me wrong, Super Mega Force was still a bad (terrible, even) season, but featuring powers that had not been previously demonstrated is not at all the reason why IMO. It was not at all out of place for anyone that has been watching the show from the start.

  • @lybrasblood7891

I think that the explanation is likely similar to what occurs with most adaptations of existing material. When things are ported over from a different medium, especially one that is originally in a different language, there is a lot that can be lost either in the translation or lack of context for things due to a difference in cultures. in this case, we have a missing portion in that not all sentai's where adapted so it gives them a smaller pool to use preexisting footage or to make new footage that is as compelling because once you open up to "there are many new powers" it gets boring to see stuff you are already accustomed to, or at least that's what I believe. i think that execution wise it is very lazy to justify adding never before seen teams on the basis that you said they have access to powers beyond those seen on earth because it opens the can of worms that anything goes. in writing this is usually a sign of wanting to please the audience with something interesting and new without doing the work to explain it to your audience assuming they won't look into those things. again this is just my speculation based on the information provided. Anyways, thanks for the cool vid este and it'd be cool to hear about the lightning rangers. for some reason i get a lost in space mixed with zeo vibe from their outfits haha
