I have a similar unit. Watch out for the fill plug at the handle end of the pump. It’s a knuckle buster on mine. I should put a little offset in my handle for clearance.

Other than the blow-mold plastic case, that is exactly like the Harbor Freight Chinese porta power that I got back in 1982. It is hard to beat or re-engineer something that one would be astounded at the total number of them had been produced in 40+ years.

Looks like a great kit. Fixed a many of beat up cars with one very similar to that in my 45 years of beating on wrecked cars.

Thanks for the usual no BS review John. That is a great bit of kit, by itself but I am building a frame to use it as a bearing/broaching press and a mini brake press, bender. Remains to be seen if I can get it all to play together without compromise but with this as the power centre it’s worth a go, at that price. This nice thing about Vevor is they listen and act on feedback.

I have had one for many years, possibly from Machine Mart here in the UK. I use the half ton spreader for removing tractor tyres from the rim, especially the bigger say 38 inch centre ones can be difficult by hand. The spreader moves the tyre away from the rim a few inches, then I insert a wooden wedge before moving the spreader along and repeating. I know this has only a plastic box (my old one is steel) but at least it has a "proper" hinge. I have socket set boxes with a flimsy thin plastic hinge which eventually break off.

John, that's a bloody steal at that price. Some bottle jacks are ver near the same price withoot a' the other gear.

Good value for the money. Only failure is poor quality piston seal which is prone to failure but can be replaced with an industry standard.

We call them porter power here I have one set up in my garage at home for over must be 30 years on a bracket build on the wall and I don't know what I'll do with out it as it saves the parts from hammer betting and broken casting not like my 50ton at the work shop and the best part is that !! You grab it and stick it in the case and away you go to a small job,,, the prices for them now I don't know why handyman still don't own one build the right mount for it and enjoy years of pumping it

Nice one. Am looking at various options for a press for bearings and the like. Undecided whether to buy or build and whether to fit with a bottle jack or something hydraulic like you have here. Tool looks smart and I have a few things from Vevor, which are ok. Keen to see how you progress your press so have subbed. All the best!

Its good. I have the self same kit, exactly, but it is in a metal box and badged as a Clarke body repair kit/porta power. I use it as a press for bearings etc. The wedge is very useful too. This vevor one is good value. Great review as ever.

Bargin that John. All those well machined and thought out accessories included. You could even use it as an emergency Acro prop with all those the extensions.

Just thinking would be good to lift up a lathe or heavy machine to get rollers under it

If you are going to make a bearing press get some heavy gauge I beam, some U channel and make a portable one. That will make it easy to press bearings on either in situ, or to remove the darn things. Just have to put that thread into a plate as a nut, and a large hole to fir the rest of the ram through.
The small spreader looks like it can be taken apart, and turned into a small bearing press, which is likely the one you will use the most for bearings, as 250kg is plenty enough to get them in place.

Sure they are great when new.. mine the 2 rams leaked more oil then it pushed or pulled. Taking it a part is a job in it self. Then the seals you need to replace. You cant get it a part to remove or replace. Then try and find the parts to fix it if you find away to get it a part. I rebiult many normal hydrolic cyilenders in my life. But these are none repairable once they blow
