To anyone sitting on the fence in regards to supporting John on patreon, Ive been happily supporting him since he started his patreon page. The quality and the amount of content he makes available cant be beaten. Id highly recommend doing it because you really are getting value for money, especially compared to other larger youtubers.
Did you think to check out the inside tap handle thread as they often get rubbed off and this reduces the downward pressure screwing the tap down creates, seemed to be binding as you use it, nice old bits to be working on.
John. That was a steam fitting!!!. You don't mess about with things like that, especially where threads are sub-standard, and how did you miss the fact that the male protruding thread from the manifold centre must screw onto something. Now the "refurbed" valve is sitting in the wrong direction, isn't it? Or am I missing something
The valve had a thin copper washer fitted to sort out the line up . I was not happy with the threads on the valve . It has been like that for at least 60 years with no problems at all . I understand what you are saying . Thanks for watching .
Brasso, one could get a hatred of it while keeping all of your uniform brass polished.
Cmon everyone, please subscribe and help John get to the magic number 👍
Really good work! I was worried about the amount of thread you had to fit the valve back on to! Proper engineering.

Thanks John
