    Nice! Glad your M1 does not overheat with the lid shut, useful to know. Some displays now come with a USB-C connection, which simultaneously charges and receives display signal to/from the Macbook. The display also then becomes a hub and you can plug in several USB-A style peripherals too.

    Useful guide: To sum:
    1. Power cable using Thunderbolt port "1" to MBA M1
    2. USB-C-Thunderbolt port "2" to Hub to connect Monitor HDMI and keyboard/mouse either wired or wireless (using bluetooth).
    3. Display setting external monitor to Main display then close lid.
    Thank you very much for this information.

    Great Video, I have a question I have a MacBook Air M1 (2020) and I just bought a monitor for it (Philips 276E8VJSB 27") It's a 4K 27" monitor, but, I have to connect it with my MacBook Air with HDMI cable. When I turn on the display setting (3840 x 2160 pixels 4K UHD) after connecting via , everything looks very small and is not scalable at all. This thing is troubling me a lot, please tell me any solution to this, I will be very grateful to you.

    Hi buddy when connecting my MacBook Air M1 to TV to use as an external monitor the picture on the TV is like having a magnify sheet over my laptop meaning I don’t get any additional real estate but the picture is simply enlarged which is what I want. However when doing the same with a PC monitor it uses it’s native resolution and doesn’t do the same. What’s the solution 😞😞

      U can buy a stand where you can put in your macbook vertically.

    • @jonoville1
      @jonoville1 Před 6 měsíci

      Thanks! I've looked at those but the room available is limited. the only room spare spot is flat under the iMac sitting on the flat part of the stand. In the end I invested in a flat fan setup to go under it and, if need be, I can leave the Macbook lid open a finger width to help vent as their cooling is done via the keyboard. 😃 @@barbancourt69
