  • Are you looking for a great camping destination in the west central Alabama area? If so, consider the Pickensville Army Corps of Engineers Campground between Tuscaloosa Alabama and Columbus Mississippi. Although the campground is located in a remote area, it offers plenty of shade, good fishing, a nice swimming area, and a few interesting places to visit.

Thanks for the comment. The catfish dinner was the high point of the trip.

Great video. My son goes to school in Tuscaloosa and I’m sure he would love to camp there.

Billy Strong Thanks Billy. This is one of several great camping destinations near Tuscaloosa. Deer lick creek and Tannehill are two more. Tuscaloosa is a great place to live. I went to Auburn but love Tuscaloosa. Hope he can get out soon. Thanks for the comment.

Frazier Douglass you need to come to North Louisiana/North east Texas area. We have lots of RV / tent camping places around here and respect one another. Caney Lakes in Minden La has a very nice primitive place and all the other sites have tent pads.

nomadic drifter Do you live in Alabama or Mississippi? I really liked this campground but it is a long way from our house and there wasn’t much to do other than fish. Thanks for the comment. Hope to hear from you again soon.

D D My sister and her husband just went back there and invited us to join them but we were unable to go. Have you ever been there? It’s a very nice campground but in the middle of nowhere. Thanks for the note.

I haven’t been to the camp ground, just drove through the area. The situation we are in now has given me the opportunity to get out the ol camping gear again. I was searching videos of Alabama parks and came across your video. After today’s viewing, I have been all over the nation’s parks. Thank you for uploading the video to share with fellow youtubers.
