    Hey Jarod good work. I've been a framer for 8 plus years here in Gig Harbor Washington framed quite a few houses with step-down foundations one thing that i started doing is when I set my string line from coast to coast i will take a five-way laser and set it on top of foundation and then shoot up to the underside of the string line then mark the bottom lazer . We found that to be accurate and easier for us. When one person is rolling floor joist one thing that made it easier for us to do it as a single person job is to set one floor joist from front to back on foundation then when you get your next floor joist slide it on the first joist then when you're on top of the other side of the foundation or touching your Rim joist just roll it over and repeat that process. Keep up the good work👍.

    What's going on with all the steel beams on the basement floor?

      In Colorado we do a lot of structural basement floors to keep the floor off of the dirt which can heave really bad out here

    Did you check the foundation's dimensions before hand to see if that control line was a good fit in relation to all other points on it?

    Don’t waste your time snapping lines on the foundation. Just set your mudsill flush and go with it. Take care of the squaring when you have the floor on.

    • @Coffmanconstruction
      @Coffmanconstruction  Před 7 měsíci +1

      The foundation was far enough off that if I built to the foundation the trusses would have to be re ordered

    • @JimWatsonTheframingMagician
      @JimWatsonTheframingMagician Před 5 měsíci

      And then how would you handle all of the places where the mud sill is protruding beyond the floor joists?

    Why don’t you guys get a surveyor ( you Americans are about to get to Mars shortly but still do things from 1975 )…in paid by the client or builder to set pins on all your external corners etc. All you do is turn up and join the dots and whooshka your ready to go.

    • @Coffmanconstruction
      @Coffmanconstruction  Před 7 měsíci

      If I’m capable of doing it too does that not make the surveyor obsolete?

    • @TBird89
      @TBird89 Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@Coffmanconstruction I know you’re very capable mate, I watch your content. Some of those big builds you do would save you and your crew at least 3/4hrs. That’s what happens here in Sydney. Just my 2 cents worth. Hopefully you don’t get that snow that’s hitting the USA.
