- Whats up CZcams so today I got my first ever 3D printer. This is the REPRAPGURU Prusa I3 V2 which I got off amazon on their primeday sale. REPRAPGURU Is an American company and they have full tech support so I thought this would be great as my first build. In this video my 2 brothers Keegan and Blade help me so if the three stooges over here can build it so can you. Noticed your extruder is facing downwards instead of sideways like shown on the video build guides, how is that done and what parts were needed? every build video shows it as a pre-assembled unit, mine showed up disassembled and did not resemble anything shown in the build videos but in your video the extruder was facing downwards not sideways with the fan up front as well.?

I have a MP Select Mini and it's not printing yet because I replaced the tape and am unable to calibrate it right. The prints just won't stick to the bed. Its nearly Brand New and i've only done 5 prints so far :(.
Hi, It's ScotchBlue™ Painter's Tape 1.88 in. The original file that came with the printer prints decently well and the first layer sticks to the bed without too many problems but ones that I sliced that were working before don't work anymore. I actually bought the printer used on Craigslist and it was already calibrated and had some tape installed, but then I accidentally ripped the tape while taking off a print that was really stuck to the bed and had to replace the tape and recalibrate it. I guess I accidentally screwed up the calibration. Thanks for the Help!!!

This is like a Ford model T, in the years since prusa started his own company, left the reprap project became a millionaire and sells printer kits. Reprap is defunct and most people are looking at a new team called the voron project
@@quickdiy8127 I actually ended up purchasing a RepRap Guru i3 printer and am pretty happy with it now that I have it dialed it. Prints everything so far in just as good of quality as my co-workers Ender 3. I'm eying building a voron in the future but for now I'll stick with my $90 printer off eBay that was a Amazon clearance. I upgraded the stepper drivers to silent 2208s and replaced the mainboard with a RAMPS 1.6+ and it works great now!

yeah it still needs tweaking to print anything lol. The extueder wont extrued. I got a part coming wednesday or thursday and then should be up and running ready to calibrate.

I hate to be this guy but that printer is called the Anet A6. So its china made. The Reprap guru name is just a US vendor. The A6 sells for ~$250 on most china direct websites like gearbest. ITs not a bad printer but it is NOT recommended for people with no kit building experience or electronics knowledge as it is a huge fire hazard in its stock form.
EDIT: Okay so this printer is still the Anet but its been repacked which means the company probably makes sure your stuff doesn't show up broken or missing screws. It almost looks like they added/changed the screw/hardware packs and changed out the PSU for a safer one.
EDIT: okay I am wrong. They changed everything but the frame from what it looks. They use a Ramps 1.4 instead of the anet board. The only iffy thing is the bearing blocks and the acrylic bed holder. Otherwise this looks to beat the A6.
I'd remove the bearings at the top of the lead screw this can cause problems if the rods are not perfectly straight. *THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT* download a strain relief bracket for the heat bed. That is where your wires are likely to fail and start a fire.
I called them up and they are express shipping a new extuder assembly for free. Its cool the company is american so I can just call them. They also will instruct you through the build if your having trouble you can just call them.
Thats awesome. I got the Anet A8 and it wasn't hard to build but it was chinese with no audio. Thankfully Its a popular enough printer 100's of people have made build videos. The deeper I got into this video the more I realized how wrong I was. But you should go join the Anet facebook group (groups/1068531466501015/) since your printer is essentially the same we can help you out over there. The only thing we wont be very good at is the software/firmware since its not the Anet stuff but its marlin so its all kinda the same.

Look into the CR-10 I mean everyone already has reviewd it and loves it but its a beast. I have one and an Anet A8 and the CR-10 just destroys the anet. The only thing the Anet can do better is print ABS without an enclosure.
yeah Im working on it. Gearbest sent me an anycubic kossel got it today. If that review goes good they are gonna hook it up with the cr 10 or thats what I am trying.
I am still thinking about ordering the Kossel since its a delta printer and would fit on my bedroom desk. But from what I have seen its a pain to build. But once its running its nice. Man if you get a CR-10 I can pretty much guarantee the A6 (whatever you want to call the one from this video) and probably the Kossel will sit and collect dust. I am having to force myself to use my A8. Now I just use it to print large things that don't need great quality and that I never got around to doing. Oh and is it cool if I PM you. I have a few filament suggestions and filament storage suggestions that will have amazon links.
