Honestly it's one of the few films made for kids, that entertained me then and can still entertain me now.

Yeah, my family had the dvd of this movie, and we’d watch it all the time, but gosh it was a fever dream movie! Thing one and thing two freaked me out a bit, and the ending of the movie gave me nightmares!

I remember watching this as a kid and loving it. All the dirty jokes and innuendos went over my head and I didn't realise until later in life what they meant. Stuff like that is underrated.

In a way I sort of appreciate this adaptation for just how much of a bizarre and out there when it came to dr suess films , one in a way i think if Dr Seuss was still alive he could appreciate.

The oversized pen that requires two hands and the casual delivery of the line still gets me to this day.
I think if they called this a full blown parody and didn’t try to have emotional moments I think it would have gone over better because I do think it’s funny and is endlessly quotable.

I watched this over and over when I was younger. I even watched the deleted scenes on the DVD so much I sometimes confused what was in the final version and what was from those when I watched it years later. It's also funny to pick up tropes from Myers you'd later see in a movie like "The Love Guru," like the wheezing fits, the brief laughing moments, adopting a childlike giddiness, etc. Doesn't make his acting great, but it makes it memorable for how random and unnecessary it is at times. The Mother of All Messes thing was a pretty cool idea, too. Can't top it off without a direct reference to Universal Studios, either. Cha-Ching!

This movie is my childhood. Fight me.
I saw this movie with a friend when we were hanging out for the day at my dad's office. It wasn't awful. It was actually fairly entertaining. Nothing great, nothing terrible, the world hates this movie and many would quote it killed Mike Myers's career. I always felt indifferent and would have treasured memories with a friend while the both of us hung out at my dad's old office. We would also watch a few DVD's of Drawn Together I had taken from the library. So this movie always had great memories attached to it. That friend later moved out of my state and out of school we both attended so life after that was a bit miserable. But I would always remember that fun day the two of us hung out and watched movies on my portable DVD player.

i remember enjoying this movie as a kid and watching it over a year ago and still enjoying it... mostly. the low brow humor did leave a sour taste at times but the rest of the film did have me giggling at the level of absurdity as you said. however now that you explained the nuance of the power of the cat... im absolutely terrified. thank you for making me realize that the only reason i was spared his wrathful judgement was because i giggled at his car.
