- In this video I'll show you how you can clean the filter on a Black & Decker Dustbuster pivot PV1820LGB. Overall is a fairly simple process, and you don't need any specialised tools other than a small screwdriver. I recommend that you take the vacuum cleaner into the back garden and tap the filter on a wall or hard object to dislodge the dust that collects.

10/3/2023 5:30 a.m. Thank you. My filter was full of dust clumps and I used a brush to get as clean as I could. You saved the day.
Glad the video helped you out.
Outstanding video-I checked other sources and could not see how to clean this filter-you came through with the info I needed. Kudos to you!!
Glad you found the video helpful.
I actually wanted to see you clean and wash the filter.
You can vacuum it with the nozzle of a vacuum to extend the life. Water can be used but then it shortens the life of the paper of the filter. Both the basket and filter come out and can be vacuumed or washed. The entire nozzle can be washed when separated from the motor side. Let dry thoroughly.
purchased mine from Costco Grimsby Ontario Canada , still works , no issues , a real rocket of a small portable vacuum, 20volt lithium , can't go wrong
Mine's still going strong, with all the original parts.
Thank you for posting
Exactly what I needed! Thank you!
Thank you, I was so confused before I watched this
great thanks, cant believe it was so easy to do
Thank you so much for this. I was baffled how to get the filter out to clean it.
Its not the easiest thing to remove. Glad the video help you.
Thanks man! Very helpful and easy to understand.
Good to hear the video helped you out.
Thanks!! So helpful
Thank you . 🙏🏼
Yes mate and you can just push that filter from the other side of the filter holder by accessing it from the door that you empty the contents from the cleaner easy peasy!!
On this particular model, the filter is housed within a plastic housing. There's no other option, other than to pull it out.
Thanks that helped a lot!
Thanks for this.
Succinct, and very helpful! And by the way, it seems to be fine to wash the paper filter… It’s pretty sturdy
Thanks. Useful!
What if it stops sucking? Used to be strong. U cleaned the filter, and checked the hose but cant seem to get it to suck😢
THANKS 👍👍👍👍👍
thank you
Thanks
On my unit the door hinge broke. I have no idea how to fix it or where I can look for a replacement.
If warranty wrote to the company or go to the shop from wher you have bought it. 🤔 Otherwise look in the internet.
does the inner clear basket come out to clean also?
Yes it does. Remove filter, grasp inner basket through the door and rotate anti-clockwise (as viewed from filter insert end).
Is there anyway to replace the battery? Mine does not seem to hold a charge anymore
To be honest, I don't know. I got a feeling the battery is hardwired, and can't be replaced.
@@subterraneansecret that’s unfortunate because I love this little vacuum. Been with us for 2 years and it just gave out.
The plastic basket also comes out. It’s not easy but you have to twist it so that the little nibs go toward the slotted areas. The first time was not easy.
It can all be vacuumed out with a bag or basket vacuum nozzle to extend the life before replacing. The basket and filter and also be vacuumed. Just be gentle with the filter.
The nozzle part can be washed out when separated from the rest of it. Be sure to open the silicone flap so water can get through the nose of the vacuum.
Let DRY overnight or until you’re sure it’s thoroughly dry. Then put it all back together again with the cleaned filter and basket or the new filter and basket.
Noice😊
Did you get this filter from a used parts store or a garage sale? This isn’t the correct filter for this product…
It's the original filter that came with the product.
I think (...) you can clean the filter with water.
4:00 you’re gonna break the vacuum buddy…
Calm down there
A little bit complicated design
It seems a little pointless putting a metal handle, knowing it won't remove the filter. However, it's not that difficult to use your finger.
Not the correct sized filter pal…
1:56 You don’t “really” recommend!? 😆😆
Oh geez… 😬*facepalm
This vid just keeps getting worse & worse by the second
