Thanks for doing a feature on Ohlins for MX. Look forward to this brand growing in the US MX & SX. There’s a reason why 95% of the paddock in MotoGP, Moto 2, & Moto 3 run Ohlins. Not to mention 100% World Superbike, and MotoAmerica Superbike series. Ohlins was picked up by Ferrari in formula 1 last year as well. Super dope product in Performance and feel. More consistency , top notch valve damping creating better predictability and more traction🤙 A more confident rider is a faster and safer rider!
Ohlins cartridge dual spring conversion on my gas gas and re valve on the WP shock is absolute butter
Instead of chasing revalves,I called Peter over a month ago, and made the decision to try fork incerts and rear shock on a 2022 CRF250R, and it's a night and day difference, more testing to do,,☝️👍👍
I have the same bike and might drop some coins on a complete fork and shock too to make this thing handle good
@ExRider43 yeah I got a 450. Everything done to it factory connection can do but it just isn't enough

Ohlins should host another demo day where they let people try their suspension on their personal bikes at the track. They had one back in 2016 at Milestone and it allowed me to try RXF48 forks on my 15 Kx450 at the time. I had always wondered what the hype was about but that let me actually experience the forks on my bike and compare to my stock revalved forks. They worked really well.
I have a set of Ohlins on my Ktm 350 great stuff
I bought a New 1985 Husqvarna cr250 back in the day , it came with Ohlins shock and fork and they were excellent even back then
ohlins is top notch
I wish I could still get the shocks for my late '90s bikes...
And anything for my early 80s bike...
I put a used olhins without high speed damping shock on my 2016 kxf 450 last year and it’s absolutely fantastic, really like it 👌

I just installed a new from ohlins France shock on my 1985 honda cr250. It's a night and day difference. Amazing stuff.
In the future it would be interesting if you could test A kit from KYB, Showa, WP, Ohlins back to back and see what works best, and why. Thanks Ping

Would love to see them jump into ATV racing again. The old banshees and Suzukis looked amazing back in the day. Think my long travel zilla build would benefit from a set.
Tbh, they been on satellite teams in europe, no really main factory program in modern era in motocross (gp's)
But Öhlins is truly a solid brand willing to adapt and evolve, i’ve seen some stuff from the main Factory in swe, i hope they can take the next step in the U.S and actually in the gp’s aswell to close offer another high end platform outside KYB, WP , Showa.
Solid video as usual Ping, them Öhlins should take high notes of your feeling of their components/opinion, you been around for a solid good time, and you been on the highest level + you rode them all suspension brands.
Glad to see a video on Ohlin’s suspension. 👍 I’ve always wondered how well this stuff worked throughout the years but it’s been kind of hard to find out about being such a low key company in the US. Sounds like it works well. The other thing I’ve wondered about is who can you take it to who has a lot of experience with the stuff when you want to get it dialed in and revalved? I’d definitely be open to trying a set of Ohlin’s suspension at some point. Ping please keep us updated on how well this stuff works as you get more time in.

how did it feel compared to your KYB? For my fc 350 I have both kyb and ohlins tend to feel the kyb allows me to be a little more aggressive...curious to know your thoughts.
Ohlins = Gourmet stuff
Ohlins is great, but Yamahas are the last bikes that need different suspension.

I had a cpl sets of TTX stuff when it first came out in 09 I believe....Stacy Berger was the dude for Ohlins back then.....really cool guy easy to work with.....nothing but positive things to say about their stuff.....it worked really well....cartridge kit and shock....
Surprised it doesn't have a bigger presence actually, cost was just lil more than full revalve with all goodies from FC, PC, etc..
I have the Ohlins cartridge swap and rear shock on the 2021 ktm 250sx and primary run motocross events, it’s absolute butter on the breaking bumps
The YZ is probably the dirt bike that needs new suspension the least. The KYB kit is sublime

the cartridge set is as good as the forks from ohlins, the rear shock. the complete package is way above the standard showa etc ect. BUT you really need a person that can set it up. Out of the box it's already great but when set up it's top notch.
I hope they can push Ohlins in the USA and Australia. Always been a big fan and the stuff looks sick!

I have Donny Schmit yzm 250 1992 ,with ohlins from 30 years ago , feels the same as suspension from now , they were years ahead in development

What do you think of the suspension compagnies recommending for exemple a sag at 100-106 when yamaha recommend 90-100?
And why do you think that the numbers are so different?
Frame and swing linkage geometry, I'd stick to recommendations, maybe +/- 2 to 3mm
Unless they are changing link arms or shock height, I'd stick to what yamaha recommends.

parts are way to expensive, its not as good as standard, very difficult to work on and it isnt realiable
