Thanks for this! Still works!
NOTE: For those having issues regarding the video without audio when selecting *Video - H.264 + MP3 (MP4)* profile, beside the dropdown, there's gonna be a wrench button. Click it. Then on the 'Audio Codec' tab, tick the checkbox for 'Keep original audio track'. And that should solve the problem. It did for me at least.
Holy crap. this issue was driving me crazy. THANK YOU
Thank you very much, brother, for sharing this tip. This method (selecting the Video for CZcams HD profile), the video went from about 947B to around 240MB. Have a great weekend :)
Yes this still works and you need to go to audio codec tab and select keep original audio track. Also in vlc you can even select video tracts if u left the mic on but probably just re-do it and have your mic tuned off.
Works great even on huge files (I used 13GB and ended up being 1,3GB) and it doesn't take as long as the file is (looks like it, but the seconds are much shorter than real seconds) but then it will look like the file is wrong for couple of minutes, but then everything loads and it will be playable.
THANK YOU FOR A BETTER AND CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO DO IT...
DITTO - WORKS GREAT!! SIMPLE & EASY RTO USE. HAD A 657 MP4 REDUCED TO 128MB THANK YOU!! gave you thumbs up and subscribed too!!
You. Are. A. FRIKIN. LIFESAVER. i spent hours and hours trying to solve exporting issues from final cut pro, and then faced this 'file unreadable issue' on youtube. I tried so many websites but there were either file size limits (mine was about 6GB btw) or i would need to pay. Im so thankful your video crossed paths with me cos it was the only thing that worked.
Those who struggled with NO AUDIO after conversion:
The only thing i had to change was that i had to customise the conversion setting by going to the audio codec in the customisation and click 'MPEG 4 audio (aac)'. Hope this helped! and THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN
Thank you, Bro! Your explanation is incredibly detailed. You're an excellent teacher!
Tried this and works perfectly!! You are a lifesaver!!!
Fantastic video, I've been using third party software to do my conversions for a while now. Thank you!

The only LEGIT VIDEO !
THANKS
You may need to click the play button in the lower left corner to make sure the compression starts.
It works perfect for me!! Thank you so much for your great help!!!!!!!
THANKS Very helpful
THANK YOU AO MICH!!
Just converted a 26GB video to 3GB.
Thanks. Nice video 👍
Thank you
Very useful
Thanks man!
Excellent!
wow, this just wow
Big thanks, from 170mb to 38mb and no much in quality reduction
thank you so much
Great video but...my video of 165mb converts to 27mb using "Video for CZcams HD". If I use "Video for CZcams SD" the video is smaller but blurry. Do you have a recommendation for me to try another one of the VLC "profile" choices for the file conversion to get it to 25mb (for sending in FB) without the video being blurry after conversion? Many thanks! :-)
Thank you very much, its works great!

Helpful. Thanks!
The layout looks completely different on mac and I cannot find any of these options, any tips?
I came back after 2 week just to like and comment on your video that really helped me ton and saved me more than 100GB till now. Thanks mate!
Wow that's great to hear. Thank you for your support!
When i compress vertical videos in VLC it changes the resulting file to landscape. How do i prevent this??
I tried to convert a 37MB file to send with gmail that only allows 25MB. I followed your tutorial EXACTLY and it compressed it to 19MB but with no audio. What did I screw up?
wow thx so much for this tutorial, i had a video made with adobe animate that had 30.6 GB and it managed to make it 44.7 MB this helped so much
@SunkioTheUser which setting did you use?
Did it lose any quality. Like was it noticeable
@@Infinitestar92 im pretty sure it did lose quality but i didnt really notice
you said there was an AVI option i cant find it? I need to shrink and save AVI what option do i need?
thanks bro
I keep getting a message every time I tried to convert outputfilealreadyexist if recording continues the file will be overridden and it’s contents will be lost. I put it in a destination file but the browse gave me crazy options for files….what’s up with this and this orange line keeps going back and forth…..can u help?
Does it works in android phone
thank you!
You're very welcome! Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for watching and please consider liking and subscribing! 🙂
Is the quality impacted by the compression
the result doesn't have any sound, could you please explain where the problem is..
Hello. Cant find the Video H.264+MP3(MP4)
still works one year later :)
I'm really glad it worked for you! Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for watching and please consider liking and subscribing! :)
why there's no "add" button in my vlc?
I just used this process but for some reason, the resulting mp4 (actually for some odd reason, it saved as m4v) file had no audio!
Same WHYYYY
So after selecting ADD and before selecting CONVERT/SAV, we need to select the type of video from the drop down menu. When we do this, are we selecting the type of video that we want to compress or are we telling VLC what type of video we want it to be?
If the latter, which option do we select for emailing videos that have to be under 25 MB?
TIA!
GOOD QUESTION
It's what type of video you want it to be saved as.
It's creating a copy.
Not affecting the original.
Ok so I have a movie that’s 138 minutes & my blank dvd is only 2 hours. It won’t let me burn it because it’s a little too long. Can I still do this with this app? & if so, when I’m done how do I burn it onto my dvd?
@@ro-landocalrissian4633 the minutes are going to be playtime overall.
Unless you can trim off the credits and be under to 2hr (120minutes) you'll have to
part 1
part 2
it.
when i press start for the conversion nothing happens, the media player bar just stays the same. and there is nothing visible in the destination folder to show that it has started to compress. what do i do?
Bottom of vlc will act like it's playing media, but it's compressing the video.
If not try hitting play.
My version of VLC looks nothing like the video. Not sure what to do.
They may have updated the app. I will do some research and make a new video if needed.
When I open VLC it looks nothing like that. There's no drop down menu, anywhere.
Apparently the apple version of VLC is feeble ..use a proper PC version
Oops, forgot to ask...can a video that has been compressed once be compressed again?
Yes it can be compressed again. ..lower quality each time
mine is 4 gb will it convert
Yep.
When I converted it, it removed my audio.
same - what caused this?
@@dawnm9224 I wish I knew, but I couldn’t tell you. I wanted to compress a video to upload to google drive, but couldn’t figure out any way so I just reexported the video as a different format because VLC didn’t work.
@@imperialbagel I don't believe you can do both audio and video with VLC, that's one of the downsides of it from what I've heard.
@@Jazzyo7 ah thank you. Yes that is quite a large downside
Same experience until on drop down menu I selected Video for MPEG4 1080 TV/ device. Audio then worked, picture not the greatest but it is what it is
First
"518 MB" This video is funny. I'm trying to reduce the size of a 38 GB MKV. I wish someone would help me with a REAL ""Large Video File" and not a pretend one.
Did you try it with that large video?
@@GaugingGadgets It didn't progress. No error messages or crashes. Just nothing. So I don't know if the 38 GB exceeded a hardcoded limit or not.
@@sculptor682 Yeah that might be too big. There is another comment stating it worked on a 13gb video. How much RAM does your computer have?
32 mb
didn't work , ask's to Overwrite and something else
You need to give it a different name or it will ask to overwrite the existing file with the same name.
Thanks man!
