Another brilliant rendition of a very complex song, not to mention it was the encore. She sang that brilliantly after performing live for over 2 hours with no intermission...There never has been, nor will there anyone to equal Barbra!

In the early 1960s she was at the Crystal Palace in St. Louis and did not yet even have a recording contract. I don't know anyone who saw and heard her then and there who did not think they had just heard a young woman who would become a living legend. Off stage she was totally down to earth, friendly and genuine. Later I saw her at Soldier Field in Chicago, now she was already a living legend. After the concert was over a few us waited near her trailer thinking we might see her. To our astonishment she came out and--get this--apologized for keeping us waiting because she was heaving her hair cut shorter for the summer. Still a totally down to earth, friendly, genuine lady. Who clearly was the daughter of a philosopher, intellect and a teacher.

Wayne Brasler My father saw her in a New York City club in the early-1960s. He said he’d never seen anything like her before, and knew she’d be a big star.

Thank you for this contribution, Wayne. I saw her in Atlanta in 1966 a few days before her Soldier Field appearance. I've never heard anyone talk about the St. Louis appearance. You must have seen it--how wonderful. I did have the great good fortune to see Barbra in Funny Girl in June of 1965--my first trip to New York. To this day (I was a teenager) I remember how her very presence mesmerized the audience at the Winter Garden. As you say, everyone knew we were seeing a 23-year old legend. Unforgettable to this day.

Still seeks approval, but not quite as good as the legendary Johnny Mathis Tony Bennett nor Shirley Bassey

Suspect Barbra does nothing that is not rehearsed - I love her but allowing for poor sound on these types of recording the voice needs to be rested
