“Aladdin” is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future. Man y'all were hating on them when they were first cast and now they're the perfect people for the role (ESPECIALLY will smith as the genie).
Lesson of the day: don't hate too quickly and wait for the final result before you judge.
The only problem: Aladdin isn't shirtless in the movie
@Nostalogic98 they meant it to be family-friendly. Which is why Jasmine no longer has an exposed midriff.
But for God's sake, Aladdin is a GUY! there's nothing wrong with kids seeing a shirtless guy! After all, where I'm from, it's quite commonplace for guys to walk around shirtless in the summer.
And it makes even more sense for Aladdin to be bare-chested in the Arabian sun! Who in their right minds would cover themselves up from head to toe in that scorching heat?
Much more sensible for Aladdin to have remained shirtless.
@Nostalogic98 hey what I said earlier isn't my point of view at all...I was just quoting what the costume designer for "Aladdin" had said earlier yesterday (you can Google it if you wish: "Why is Aladdin wearing a shirt in the 2019 movie?")
I honestly see nothing wrong or "indecent" about women exposing their midriffs or men roaming around completely shirtless. Like you said, it's quite common in beaches or pool parties!
I an a guy too, and it's quite common for me (and my friends) to hang around shirtless.
Heck, I never even bother putting on a shirt in the summer!

However I was referring to the fact that this live-action Aladdin is a remake of the classic 1992 animated movie.
Since they've stuck so closely to the original material, they could have easily made Aladdin shirtless, as that "shirtless-ness" was such an integral part of his character in all the three films as well as the animated series later.
However I don't have any problem with Mena's portrayal of the character - he's a brilliant actor and has a lovely singing voice - plus a hot muscular body (check out his Instagram page) that would have gone down really well for Aladdin (had they gone down that route)!

Aladdin was one of my favorite characters because he was the only hero that didn't have to fight someone in order to win plus it didn't have the damsel in distress be the big hook for character romance it was used as a set up.

I just got out of the theaters (about an hr ago....I went to Wal-Mart and Waffle House after lol) and I love seeing the chemistry between everyone in these interviews and how it translates on the big screen. Will just brings the positive energy and Naomi was THE best performance of the film. Will's version of Genie was great! I didn't think about Robin Williams' version because Will was able to do his own thing which was great for what it was!
