Mena Massoud Explains How He Nabbed Star-Making Role in ‘Aladdin’

- “Extra’s” Tanika Ray sat down with Mena Massoud at Universal Studios Hollywood, where he promoted his new film “Aladdin.”
Mena dished on the tough audition process he went through before he was cast as Aladdin, revealing, “When I first saw the audition notice [online], I put in the tape. I didn’t hear anything back for four months, so I was quite devastated and disappointed.”
“Then, out of nowhere, we started hearing back and things started moving quickly,” the 27-year-old said. “When I didn’t hear back, I thought it was dead in the water.” - Zábava

Stars Hollow avan joia is too Nickelodeon-ish to be Aladdin (I don’t know if that makes any sense but it would have irked me to have him cast). Plus I think I was a good choice for Disney to cast an unknown for the lead role. Mena was the Aladdin we deserved :)

and "mena" means : building or founding (in the Ancient Egyptian language) and it also means : stable or establish (in Coptic language) 😃❤
And masoud means a place for a happiness(i guess, well based on what i've learnt in my arabic lessons, it does, idk😅)

Also i rlly love @willsmith acting as the genie! Will smith did really stole the show!! i cried and laughed throughout the movie, goosebumps and all that. When arabian nights and whole new world started i got goosebumps :') This movie is really special to me, because i love love loveeee everything good that related to middle east and this movie is everything!🖤 i also love how disney release the movie when its ramadan lol, so u also can feel the ramadan/arabian vibes which is beautiful.
