I got two things right about this movie: 1-I knew it was a woman behind that distorted voice and 2-I knew Jake wasn't going to die. Knowing that however didn't make the movie any less suspenseful and thoroughly entertaining. Great movie indeed.

It has a lttle godly play in the part of the girl, to think she can control humans destiny and change a person behavior. Humans who find business fascinating and to accumulate money are a different kind of people. In general society loves people who can gain or succeed.
There are in the world many people who gain based on other humans weakness and vulnerability. I am not saying is okay but it is a reality. Life finds a weird way to teach us. This girl is as sick and wrong as this boy's father. Most of us are harm in one way or another, nobody is perfect.
I loved the photography and this film is interesting and well acted too, the right amount of suspense.
I do like to compare film to life and evaluate my own behavior. i would have fail this test because I think under certain circumstances not under my control, the correct action is too call the Police. I know as a matter of fact to commit suicide will tell my son, I am weak and if I did it, I am giving him the right to follow the same path. I know to commit murder is wrong according to religion and the law too, I will not kill under any circumstance. I know my kid knows I love him, I don't have to take my life to prove it, neither kill other humans.
I like this movie and had a good time watching it because it makes all of us think.
Understand but if you didn't kill yourself you were killing your child in this so I'm not sure it works that way, we should be willing to give our lives for our children, we would die saving them other ways so it's kind of the same if you take your religious beliefs out of it

Why not? He was a terrible father to his son up to that point, so his son would be better off without that kind of father anyway. He was supposed to show how much he really loved his child after all with his sacrifice.

This reflection of the world in 2023 underscores the fact that those who deny the existence of Hell, and those who aver the existence of Hell, alike fail to observe that this IS Hell. Kafkaesque! If the purpose of art were to depress, horrify, traumatize and terrorize, this is artistic.

Did I miss something? Why was the woman in the boot killed, and who was she? Why was she supposedly the cause of all this? We don't even know if the son recovered. The woman who caused this, as well as her accomplices, should all be locked up. Whether in a psychiatric ward or gaol would be up to the judge. What was portrayed here in this movie were totally illegal acts and deserved life sentences. The illegal kidnapping of the boy, even though released in a comatose state, should deserve at least a 20-year sentence. This was not a movie for us to reflect on our own guilt. Those who think it is, probably are the ones who do need to reflect on their own guilt, and good on you for doing so.
This was a movie about revenge. And revenge crimes are against the law. The father of the boy may not have been the perfect father, husband or businessman, nor was his wife perfect, as nobody is perfect, but anyone who gambles on business gains and losses, who then loses their money in the act, should not blame it on anyone but themselves. Nor should their family do so after they have become an adult, with adult reasoning. If they do still feel so as an adult, they do need to see a psychiatrist and or psychologist.
As this is only a fictional movie and not based on a real-life event, it was well played.
Im not done watching... I think it is the mental health doctor...I was wrong..... But this was a hella good movie 🎥
