I was gonna buy a pair, but then remembered I live in a desert and haven't seen a puddle in like 2-3 years...
Breakbeat hardcore was the best - I now think that Simon may be another Savile or Scofield... Open your mind, man...
Hell no
I've bought these shoes before they are absolutely intolerable if you actually do any walking.. they feel like slippers they are horrible
You are shilling garbage
Shilling way overpriced trash
What about Wanksy? The brave soul using phallic imagery to force the city to fix potholes faster. Truly a noble pursuit.
I would love a script from Danny on that for BB 😅
We certainly need an artist like that in my town. 😂

I feel like the irony of Simon saying "just leave him alone" while making a video about unearthing his identity is spot on for the Whistler
@@Ms.Pronounced_Name If Simon doesn’t do what his ghost alien overlords command, he’ll end up in the basement with his…ugh…writers.
The one thing that makes me laugh when thinking about all of this, is the fact that somewhere in the world there’s probably so Uber rich person with loads of random walls from all over England and the world that they have payed 1/2m for 😂😂
Banksy would say that
Every time another theory emerged about his identity, I'm privately like, "get debunked. get debunked."
Simon is like: "Leave him alone, but also sell me that artwork that might be his!"
@@Ms.Pronounced_Name I wouldn't have said that if I were you...
49:50 That was me! I ran into Simon while in Prague and told him that. OMG, I kicked myself for not askin ghim what video he was workin gon that day but now I know! Man, this is so cool :)
Simon is awesome and does in fact wear Vessi's for what its worth :)
Here in Houston, TX there is famous graffiti work on a bridge. The Be Someone bridge. It’s become such an iconic Houston image that the Houston Police Department has even used it on recruitment posters. Which is ironic because the original artist that painted it has to do all their art exhibitions masked to protect their identity because they are currently wanted by the Houston Police Department for graffiti and vandalism.
Took awhile but it’s back to say “Be Someone” now. I wonder if it’s the original artist? I know they stop repainting the bridge out of frustration.
Dude they just recently arrested someone for repainting it this last time 😢
Be someone I believe started off as 1 guy, but I believe it’s a group of people now
They don’t buff it frequently because it’s rail road property vs city property, but each time it’s repainted it stacks additional felony charges on them, it’s more of a meme tbh in the Houston graffiti culture
My personal fave is TOEFLOP painted on that bridge on I10.
That's Texas y'all 😅
Honestly, I just love what I personally call "mural cities", which are cities where the government doesn't paint over artistic graffiti, only things like names by themself or offensive slogans. It leads to a city culture where people stray towards street art and away from pure graffiti, so there arent many names to cover up in the first place. Nearly every building end up having a beautiful mural on it. I don't know if these cities exist outside of the USA but there are a few cities in the USA that are like this.
Yes! I was always rather awestruck by the amount and variety of artwork in new orleans.
Hey, 20 years painting graffiti here and just wanted to chime in. In the US there are cities which encourage murals however it’s a bit of a tricky subject. I lived in one for about 6 years but could never seem to get a wall for their yearly festival. While I did love that they embraced art, the city also got to decide quite subjectively which art was valid enough to get their stamp of approval. At this point it becomes state approved art. Because of the very nature of graffiti and it’s culture it left me frustrated and disillusioned that a local couldn’t get wall space just because they didn’t approve of my work for one reason or another (mind you, I never submitted anything offensive or taboo). The city went further than this and even made it illegal for private businesses to have their own murals painted so I didn’t even have recourse to reach out to local contacts to paint their walls on my own. Again, it this level of control is not conducive to promoting art from my perspective. So yes, it was nice seeing all the art in the city, but I got the impression it wasn’t encouraging artist like they thought it would.
State sponsored art can be great, but there’s something to be said for being more hands off about it and my experience is US cities seem to have a problem with that. Hopefully there are others who take a more inclusive approach.
@ImaginaryAudience oh, no I don't mean that. There are a few cities where unauthorized murals won't be removed. Where basically the rules are like any other city, but the authorities just ignore artistic graffiti.
Check out Valparaíso in Chile, some amazing art.
I agree, I love to see graffiti, all types of it. My appreciation started when I was a 7 year old kid in the 80s. There was a dark concrete underpass I had to walk through to get to school and one day some older kids had started to graffiti it and the murals got bigger and more colourful over time and it transformed the dull and depressing tunnel into a cool and interesting space which cheered me up. Every Monday morning I'd look around to see what was new from the weekend. I'm now 45 and still whenever I see a cool bit of graffiti it makes me smile. It also appeals to my rebellious nature.
Stellar writing on Danny's side. Its really inspiring to witness his talent doesn't end on BB script lunacy, but can be serious and thought provoking too
His casual criminalist scripts are the best!
Sack swinger.
Danny, hands down produces the most entertaining scripts.
Simon cheering on the little guy in a David vs Goliath battle is a Hallmark of this channel and I'm always here for it. Also, Banksy is one of my favourite shotstirrers in the art world so I'm loving this video (not finished watching yet- paused to make that pun before I forgot)!
I see what you did there. ;)
😂 in what world is Banksy the little guy? Hes one of the most famous artists in human history.
My personal fav Banksy gimmick was when he made several small paintings and set up a street seller spot and sold them for a few dollars/pounds a piece. He didn't even sell most of them if I remember correctly and it made a millionaire out of one person who purchased a few of them just to fill out a wall and liked them.
If I remember correctly, wasn't Banksy trying to sell paintings on an London auction house tv show?
They weren't very popular unfortunately.
Not a few dollars, 50 dollars a piece. Waaaay to much for anyone just buying it out of a mood (since it was just an old man selling some stencil paintings, nothing hinted at it's legitimacy) and way too little for anyone thinking this might actually be worth something
I like the painting that shredded itself as soon as it was purchased.
This was in NYC. He hired an older man to run the stall and sold dozens of canvases for $60 each. Some of those are probably still out there on people's walls and they have no idea.
Also, he's allegedly sold work on eBay for almost nothing.
This is an interesting concept, because it goes back to the purist notions of art. People are buying it because they like it, not because of who created it. Then, in maybe 10 or 20 years they'll perhaps discover that the painting they paid $40 for is actually worth a hundred grand.
@@ct5625I'm pretty sure he only sold them to like 3 people all day. If I remember correctly, 2 bought 1 each and then there was the lady that bought them to "fill in" the wall in her son's place or something like that and bought 3-5 or something.
It was amazing to realize just how little value art REALLY has. It's only has the value we perceive it does, which is kind of been his point through his career. Art isn't worth all this money to lock away, it's supposed to be experienced. It's experiencing it that makes it worth something, not it's existence.
Last time I was this early Simon only had 12 channels

When graffiti is done well i think it adds to the city or big town, specially ones that lack green spaces.
I wish there were regulated places for artists especially teenagers to learn to do it well and places to teach them. Imagine going through a city with real artwork on each corner of the street.
I think we miss an opportunity to both get kids off the street and make our cities a bit nicer to live in for a reasonable price.
But it only works if it is decent art and not an angular S or whatever
A steady flow of blue sweater episodes! These are always the best.
Simon, you should always make it clear in the title of a video written by Danny that he wrote it, because I will always watch it immediately. I’m still kind of mad about the times you skipped his introductions, but if you actually give Danny some degree of artistic license, I will watch every time, no matter the subject. I would watch a nine hour video about the social life of a slug if it were written by Danny.
Is that a request?
@@DannySalter if you write it, and Simon reads it, I’m gonna watch it.
Yeah I clicked not planning to pay much attention, but as soon as I heard it was written by Danny I was on board. Started thinking there should just be a channel written by Danny, which kind of was BB, but now it's different, with almost no Danny scripts? And Simon doesn't walk around and smack a script so I smash the dislike button.
Danny tried to get out of the basement, which is why he wasn't credited for awhile.
Danny is the GOAT of scripts
Is something a crime or a work of art? Sometimes a thing can be two things.
And all art is doomed to obscurity "on a long enough timeline". Art that embraces that fact is some of my favorite: Street art, sand sculptures, snow art... these works are no less valuable for their temporality.
I just saw the touring exhibition with his work from private collections. A big chunk of profits from the exhibition get donated to fund art schools and art based organizations. The whole experience was absolutely unreal.
Simon “This script is so long! Are we going to be done by lunch?!”
Me *grabs cheese crackers, a cocktail and a blanket* 🤩👏
Simon asked how much we think "Love Is in the Bin" (the re-titled post-shredding "Girl with a balloon",) was sold for, but he didn't actually say. It sold three years later for 25.4 million.
He did. He said "18 million quid," he just said it kinda quietly white still half laughing.
The real twist is Danny is actually Banksy, and isnt really locked in the basement it's just where he keeps the stencils and paint
Great video! I think Banksy is a collective, tbh. Also, I'd love to see you guys decode the Toynbee Tiles.
Sure, but Toynbee is essentially proven. Interesting story for sure, though...
I don't think so. Someone would eventually leave and decide selling his Story is worth breaking an NDA
So basically Danny’s goal is to slowly lengthen his scripts on every channel. Great plan!!
"So, you won't accept my two page intros? OK, here, have a thirty four page script you baldy gi- NO TURN THE BLAZEMENT LIGHTS BACK ON"
Would love it if the real Banksy was sitting somewhere watching this and laughing right now.
I'd bet he is. Or will be.
I always picture Banksy laughing. Laughing and counting his money. As a struggling artist myself I got to admit he is genius. I'd be laughing too.
He is😊
Unless Simon is secretly Banksy...
And he could reply to this comment with some very nondescript reply.
The Margate comment @ 16:10
Where I used to live, there was a water leak at the end of a street. There was a constant foot deep puddle that, despite numerous complaints over several weeks from the residents, the city just ignored it, blaming it on recent, yet nonexistent, rainstorms.
One day a mannequin with a lawn chair and fishing gear appeared on the corner beside the puddle.
The leak was fixed just 2 days later.😂
Driving around Seattle, WA made me wonder why Banksy is art while the graffiti I saw was illegal. Honestly, a lot of the stuff I saw was amazing. A couple of roads I drove down was like driving down art show but for the community. Looked better than a lot of the stuff I saw in museums.
I got accepted an offer to work at what would be considered a Grade 1 historic property and musuem in the USA.
Thank you, Simon for all you teaching on historic stuff.
I work at a museum.
I definitely lean towards the collective theory. Imagine if the artist(s) didn't even travel, just partnered with local artists in different countries with explicit instructions and a provided stencil.
But in the end I fully agree, it doesn't matter. I am glad Banksy exists.
I think Robin Gunningham makes the most sense. Saw a reddit comment on the banksy subreddit that apparently Robin's real name is Robin Banks which is where 'banksy' came from. Who knows though lol, I doubt we'll ever know for sure.
Not gunningham. He is a decoy. Look at who the best old school wild style graffiti artists are from Bristol and there you go
Danny, love hearing your work on more channels. Always love it.
I love how Simon always bitches when he gets a long script, but then proceeds to double the length of the video with his rants, tangents, and personal anecdotes 😆
I've always liked Banksy's stuff, but I guess part of it was me making up a part of the "mystique". I thought part of the reason for the stencils was the fact that it would make the art inherently less unique. That if he did get arrested or something, people could imitate it pretty easily.
So in 2006 after hurricane Katrina, I spotted " banksy" while in the 7th ward. I still live in new Orleans to this day, and I'm a big fan of Simon's. When I showed my homie Matt the painting, which was a Morton salt girl being rained on underneath her umbrella, he immediately recognized the artist. After explaining to me who he was, I began to recognize other peices popping up, I began taking photos, and eventually put together a CZcams video w my homie Matt showcasing them. CZcams was brand new at the time, so as we found more we posted more videos. The person I saw that day looked incredibly ordinary, but also looked like 3d. I didn't see what the other "rob" looked like, cause ime too lazy to Google something you didn't put in your video. But our videos are still on CZcams. I will try to find a link
Found something?

Not saying I think Billy Gannon is Banksy, but doesn't passing out "I am not Banksy" stickers for people to wear while not wearing one sound like something Banksy would do?
It's Robin Gunningham - I remember reading the original article, and pretty much concluding that that was almost certainly him. I doubt that anyone in the press will push too hard on confirming that it is actually him, as the mystique of "the anonymous artist Banksy" will be far better for getting clicks than plain old Robin.
I'd also point out the Goldie's slip in referring to him as "Rob" pretty much rules out the whole "collective" idea, as he'd probably have slipped to "they" if they were, rather than a single name.
Also, as someone grew up on a council estate, and who has always found Banksy's work rather surface-level, gutless and vapid, I'm really not surprised that he turned out to be an art school posho, rather than someone with first-hand experience of the shit end of life.
Yes. I shared a squat with him in Bristol way back in the day. I have one of his sketches but no way of proving it's an original 'Banksy'. It looks cool on my wall though. I thought he was a bit of an arse to be honest.
Totally agree. 🎯
It's Neil Buchanan from Art Attack.
The cringe I felt as an artist when Simon said it wouldn't be hard to say Jaime did comics and musicians etc "and art" and I was like 'all those things ARE art. It's just now adding graffiti to it. LOL I know Simon didn't mean it that way but I'm so used to people being like 'oh your stuffs not in galleries? you don't make art that's just a hobby" LOL you're great Simon 🤣🤣
🎉
Love Banksy!! Have many reproductions of his art that my daughter does for me
Sooo . . . . . . You and your daughter are okay with mass starvation, class warfare, and gulags? Communism is a cancer wrapped in warm fuzzy feelings.
I love that Simon has contempt for graffiti. He’s right that it makes cities ugly. I do like city murals. There’s a big difference between random taging and a well crafted mural.
generally true, although some random tags have a beauty and elegance that's surprising. Also, real street art is a totally different thing, and also different from a preplanned, approved mural, but much of it is still absolutely stunning.
Well, allow me to disagree a bit - preplanned city-sponsored murals are often soulless and uninteresting. Sure, when it's just random letters written by kids on a wall it can be ugly, but most street art I've seen adds character to the city, even if it's small, done banksy style in random places, and in a lot of cities it is then used by the city as a point of interest. People just often consider it less worthy because it's not hanging in the art gallery.
I live in a small city where there are a lot of murals in different styles, most of which are quite nice (there’s a bigger city about half an hour away and I hate to say it but a lot of their murals are kinda creepy. I’m guessing the images looked better in small scale), but someone has also taken to doing little chalk drawings of a robot as street art which feels like a great compromise. It’s not meant to be permanent so they’re not harming anything and it’s fun seeing where their little character will pop up next.
@@juliadagnall5816 that is cool. I go for walks in the early morning and its always fun to see how the chalk on the sidewalk changes every so often. When it rains theres a full reset 😂

Simon: So when I was in school...
Yay a script from Danny & over an hour long video from Simon. Time to pack a bowl and enjoy this one!
A bowl of magic spoon I assume? 😂
I think people in the know don't reveal Banksy's identity because they understand his anonymity is a big part of his success.
I really enjoyed this video. Ultimately it doesn't matter who Banksy is, as part of the allure of their art is the not knowing. It would take so much away from the allure of the work if we knew for sure, it is fun to speculate though.
Love these videos and so glad you did this one!! I suggested this on one of your earliest DTU videos!
I always think is funny that people never ask the real question: Who ARE Bansky? 🙂
Or if it’s a female
No one ever asks HOW is Banksy.
I'll raise you one more, Why is Banksy?
It can't be a female. They lack the upper body strength required to hold a stencil,AND paint at the same time.Thats a fact...RIGHT PETER¿
I would personally like there to be some public register where people/companies/entities give permission for specific buildings/structures to be graffitied to encourage art in some areas. And of course anyone would be allowed to paint over anything that looks offensive or shite 😂
So in effect, anyone can paint over paintings with white...
Turtles all the way down.
there is... its called the building owner... if they want to allow artwork on their building (at least in the US), then thats up to the property owner or the city governments laws and regulations
@@jormungand72 most big cities in the US have specific ordinances against street art, even on privately owned properties, because they want to maintain a "look". Like a lot of places won't let you paint your house certain colors and commercial properties have to be painted with a certain color pallet.
They have that. Its currently used for advertising space, which ultimately helps way more humans then Banksy art has,or ever will.
I love this story and the ongoing mystery. At some point, i feel we may learn his identity, but hope it is a long way off.
Yayyy a long dtu video to keep me company as a recover from this lupus flare

This is truly exciting to see what Simon thinks about it
i love how little simon knows about everything :)
I think Banksy is a whole team.
Yay! A long one! Thank you, Danny. 😊
Im like halfway through the video but heres what I'd do to devalue the art being sold against Banksy's wishes- for every piece that sells, hire a team to paint 50 more of that exact piece on other buildings. He does 1 or 2. Nobody knows which of the new Banksys was painted by banksy and the original work is now worth less than the buyer paid for it.
Everyone asks who is Banksy, but no one asks how is Banksy. Smh.
Always listen to any of Simons videos that come across my feed. Great way to keep my mind occupied while working under cars. Always makes me feel like I’m just chatting up a buddy.

You should really do a video on Don Henry and Kevin Ives (the boys on the tracks) it’s a really interesting topic and think you would like it!
My coworkers always get a laugh when I abruptly answer the phone from having a conversation because my presentation voice comes out and is very much something I do subconsciously. after years of theater, telemarketing, and a brief stint doing interviews for a “radio” broadcast it is just second nature. I’m sure it’s much more pronounced for yourself as you do presenting for a living. Plus the magic of minor audio editing to clean things up is always under appreciated in the difference it can make
Oh, yes, phone voice is definitely a thing when you answer the phone as part of your job. I used to switch it on and off constantly.
The video I've been WAITING FOR! Never clicked a video so fast. Thank you!!!!!
The thing with Gunningham is, Banksy does his stencils at night, and the picture was during the day. Another thing, based on Exit Through the Gift Shop and a picture of Baksy, if it is Banksy, getting his portrait drawn while wearing a ski mask, Banksy is on the tall side. Gunningham doesn't look tall enough or slender enough. And as for the hot spots, the issue is assuming Banksy would put up work near where he lives. The one thing Gunningham has that del Naja and Hewlett don't, is age. They're too old, and Gunningham was born in 1974 and Banksy was pretty certainly born in 74 or 75 based on some comments and his history.
As for the thing with Gunningham's parents, if he knows Banksy, knows they're the same age, from the same place, and they both did graffitti, well odds are his parents would know who Banksy is too. And don't have to be a genius to realize that if you share so much with someone, people might think you're the person. Easy enough tell your parents to put on act if they're asked anything.
Also I always find it interesting how Banksy's stuff that isn't stencil work largely gets ignored. Because there's a fair bit of it and some of it makes it pretty clear he has a pretty big place to work. Also he's pulled off installing a few pieces in public places, which couldn't be done quickly. Plus there was Dismaland, which the fact that he did that without his identity being leaked, just how?
Few years back the trend among insufferable UK internet people was to go "oh yeah, Banksy's identity is pretty widely known..." whenever given the chance.
To be quite honest, with the way alternative subcultures tend to work it is entirely possible that the identity IS widely known. There's a culture of secrecy.
In England we all know. We just keep it secret from you yanks.
"Banksy knows who Banksy is." But what if "Banksy" is an alternate personality, and the real person is entirely unaware that he's also a world-famous artist?
"The first rule of Banksy is you don't talk about Banksy"
Very fascinating,thank you Danny❤
Simon's offence that someone else was voted "Greatest living Briton". You'll get your chance, dude!
Part of the nature of street art is its impermanence. I doubt that Banksy really cared whenever their works got vandalised or removed, certainly initially. In fact, in some cases that's been blatantly an intentional part of the whole deal.
I've thought for years now that Banksy is Jamie Hewlett, and I still believe it. Banksy pieces in the past have also happened to pop up in places where The Gorillaz were on tour. Jamie RARELY comes on stage and he isn't at all of the shows. Also I'd like to note with the older artist 3D, the character who's the singer of the gorillaz is named 2D. Might just be a coincidence, but still something to chew on.
Thing is Hewlett doesn't really have any connection to Bristol and the first Banksy stuff was in Bristol. Also from the history of Banksy's work and some comments, he was pretty clearly born in the mid 70s, and Hewlett was born in 68.
Nah. Not him.
@Lauren MP74 very fair. Although if Banksy is a collective, wouldn't be shocked if he was part of it. Either way! Still fair points.
It’s not him. I know a very prolific person in the street art scene. He’s written books about the subject & owns multiple galleries & a museum. He told me who Banksy is one day when I showed him a picture of who I thought it was (an art dealer friend of mine took a pic of him & claimed it to be Banksy, so I wanted to confirm with the other guy since I know for sure he knows Banksy) & I can assure you it’s not Jamie.
@@RyanAnthonyDigitalMedia I wouldn't be surprised if Hewlett is, at the very least, acquainted with Banksy. They seem like their circles would definitely overlap, which would make it a lot easier for people to draw a parallel between the two.
Maybe you could argue Banksy is a collective, but only in the loosest sense, cause I'm sure the guy has some kind of help since he's gotten big, but likely still does all the art himself.
He's just a dude that's buds with at least 3D, Hewlett and Goldie. Maybe Rob, maybe not. But i agree with the video that it's more cool if we don't know, though it's also kinda cool if you do, tbh.
Finally ordered some Vessi! Used Unknown and it actually saved extra on top of the Memorial Day sale!
Audio is a bit off. Simon is fairly quiet compared to the music and sound effects.
I've had this problem for a while. The annoying, vaguely related but more trying to be cool, video clips are way too loud. Still love the uploads but audio needs fixed, horrible to listen to in bed at night.
And so quiet on the podcast versions too.. they really need a good sound engineer and some new kit..

A+ video!
What a mind-blowing video!
This was such a great video.
The search for the real Banksy is like the search for Big Foot. Many supposed sightings, many false alarms.
If Danny's here that means we come for the introductions
If an artist decides they wish to remain anonymous, that right should be respected. It's a choice that isn't just made for the artist's privacy, but also one that fundamentally changes the way we experience their art. Removing their identity from the art allows the public to focus on individual interpretation of the work.
I might be coming up to 56 years old. But hearing Simon talk about Goldie and various music genres in the tone he does make me feel like Simon is rapidly approaching his 180th birthday!
Decoding Through the Gift Shop
😆 🤣 that documentary was awesome
I've never heard of this artist. This is hella interesting! I'm going to do more research into this person. I love their style, both artistically and morally.
Around my area they cover the electric boxes by street lights with art work.
The documentary 'Exit through the Gift Shop' is brilliant, intriguing and funny. Heads up, you don't realise its going to cover Banksy till half way through but its worth the wait and gives you an idea at how crazy the art world is.
DismalLand was awesome.
Man congratulations to you I can’t believe that up to three months ago someone didn’t know who banksy is. Most people think he’s a lead singer from Rage against the machine, Tom something, but I think it’s a collective myself.
Simon: _Leave Banksy alone_
Also Simon: _Commercializes the investigation_
Anyone else immediately pause the video when he said he was on art attack, search for it, found the Reddit where someone found a Chinese translated copy, screenshoted it, and Simon replied, “wow thanks! Want a star bucks gift card?”….?
He could easily make the stencils and have someone else paint them.
Since Simon doesn't seem to know who mother Teresa was, something should create a script about her life for one of his channels. TLDR: she was a monster, not a Saint.
Yes!!!
Biggest fraudster of the 20th Century, no less.
This isn't a black and white topic, it's rather gray. But indeed I think that makes it an even better topic to cover
@@davidkimber4896 It really isn't grey. Christopher Hitchens' 'The Missionary Position' is well worth a read.
A monster is putting it mildly.
So glad someone else picked up on this. Whistler just whistles he does write songs.
I have seen several original banksy's in bristol. it was awesome. including the queen with the bowie lightening mark over the eye.
This is exactly the kind of video Banksy would make! Simon IS Banksy!
Nah, Simon freely admits his love of money. 🤑
I'm so confused how does banksy make 15 million pounds by being an anonymous graffiti artist?????? WTF
He larps as a commie of course. And its 50 mil.
He doesn't, I think the idea that he's rich is weird considering the way he works and sells things. I would think that he's just rich enough to be able to afford flying around the world to make art.
We all know Simon is secretly Banksy
Please, the extent of Simon's creative capacity probably only extends to trimming his beard.
I have a feeling that most of the people saying that Banksy should be arrested for vandalism would be ecstatic if Banksy would paint a piece on a building they own.
18:45 You would cave to the peer pressure in half a heartbeat, Brain Boy.
Banksy's real name is Wayne Bruce. A mate of a mate of my mate's cousin's girlfriend was told this by Batman himself. Allegedly.
"Contemporary Art" is less about the aesthetic, and more about the sentiment or inspiration. Often the intended interpretation is planted by the artist in order to derive significance because the aesthetic quality is too obscure to be immediately pleasing to the eye like more classical works.
Also Contemporary Art: "I could have drawn that". "Yeah, but you didn't".
Iffy.
Regardless, there will always be elements of good design to separate the good from the best.
Much contemporary art tries to ignore this, much to its detriment, and the best seeks to redefine this.
Saying a piece is about the struggle of man against eternity doesn't make it good art. It just marks you as pretentious.
Very elaborate way of saying contemporary art doesn't look very good.
@@eadweard. Haha yeah, though beauty is in the eye of the beholder...if I've dropped 7 figures on a wall piece, I'd at least want to look at it and enjoy it, but also when you have that much disposable income perhaps enjoyment comes from exclusivity of ownership as opposed to the more attainable yet subjective qualities such as pleasure of viewing.
My late mum was a Kent-born girl. Whittington-on-Sea. Nice little place, from the pictures I've seen. (Coincidentally, I now live near the Brisbane suburb of Margate). ETA: Also: Prahan is "Praan" :)
Please please please never stop ♥️
