- Make with Me! Stripes from scratch!
Statement Earrings using this fun pink and red slab with white polka dots which I already had lying around in my studio! But the fun part is that we will make a black and white striped slab from start to finish, I talk through the whole process and let you in on a few of my best hacks!
Although we go through the whole making process from start to carding just keep in mind this would have been a 4 hour video if I went into every single detail - so I am saving certain parts for future videos, such as - slab making with layering and texturing, colour ways, finishing - sanding, prepping and gluing and more.
I hope that what I do share inspires you to make some fun statement earrings, Im so excited to share more tutorials. But if you can’t wait remember that I teach workshops in Australia where I teach everything I know about Contemporary Polymer Clay making!
You have a delightful voice, its my first time here I know i am to enjoy myself.
Thank you for watching xxx
A video on cutters would be awesome. I’m finding it very difficult to find the right ones and where to look online. Thanks so much for sharing!

Oh for sure! 100% transparency on this channel - I find reels and tiktok the absolute worst for false hopes when it comes to clay techniques!
Thanks for the video! I’ve been sitting on my collection of clay since last year and finally pulled it out a couple of days ago. This is exactly what I needed to see.

Um don't use Fimo leather effects unless you are going for busted Party Zebra look. Was the only black & white I had...Definitely took me on a journey...
Like your bold colors and selection. The techniques have been great! My favorite clays so far are Cernit, Kato and then the others - not a fan of Papa clay...Haven't tried Pardo, yet but on the list...
I love this tutorial. I have seen others "squishing their layers through the pasta machine. I also like the thicker stripes... The rectangle cutter is a great idea, I wish I had one...
Love how they turned out. Top notch!
I must do a remake of these!
Love your tutorial. Love your commentary. Just love love it all. Thanks for sharing 👏
You are great and your tutorial is fantastic! I love the “indentations for future jump rings” tip- I find that I lose track of which components go together after baking and this is such a help. Your entire video is funny and packed full of information. Thank you so much, and I subscribed, of course!

So Nice
Fun and fresh designs!! You make it look super easy...I'm really tempted to try polymer clay even though I've never worked with it before! Love your video 😍😍😍
Thank you that means the world!
absolutely loving your content! X
Such an amazing video, thank you for sharing! I really love the way you go through all the steps, with your own personality! It would be amazing attending one of your workshops, but as you are at the other side of the world from me, those videos are a great start! :D I would LOVE watching a video about the sanding process! I found it the most difficult so far and I always finish up with some really annoying micro scratches! Anyway, I hope to see more videos from you. Have a great day!
So happy you enjoyed hun!
Love love love!! I'm just starting out making these and i'm so excited! love you earrings and your video ;)
Thanks.
just found you and absolutely love your channel! being funny helps! :)
Cutters, definitely
I’ve used the sculpt promo and have my thickness on 3 for my earrings and I have baked on 275 for several hrs and they won’t get hard still bend. First time in working and baking help
All polymer clay will have flexibility when its cured properly :)
beautiful!
🤯 I apparently have been doing this the hard way
I loved this! Could you do a tutorial on what you do with your left over pieces, I cringe at all the waste I make! Thank you, will definitely subscribe!
Love this😍😍😍
This is the first I've seen one of your videos and I'm hooked! Subscribed 😊 I would also love to know how you did those PERFECT polka dots!! 💖
Sherri Britton Ha they are so not perfect just cut from a snake of clay
@@pollycollective Well they look fabulous 😊 Thx!
I’ve been making some other kinds of earrings and have been interested in clay earrings for some time. I just put it together this evening that polymer clay (duh, polymer) is plastic. It’s nice to hear you talk about waste throughout the entire video. Realizing that makes me want to reconsider... or maybe just reconsider the methods I use to make earrings. I do love that scraps don’t cure on their own & can be used on projects later, so there are upsides. Anyway, this video was incredibly helpful, so generous, and your personality is fucking awesome. Thanks for sharing your craft!! xo
Caroline Moon Yes it’s a hugely important decision to make. Maybe you could focus on using just scraps or find ways to use clay minimally. At the end of the day lots of mediums we use to make Jewellery are plastic or versions of it (Acrylic, Resin, Polymer Clay) it’s so important to be aware and really think about mindfully making.
👍👍👍
You are an amazing artist, thank you for these videos! 😍 Could you please explain why you prefer to drill a hole after curing rather than poking a hole in before hand? Thanks again
Maybe the hole tightens while baking the clay
woa such a very informative video, thanks for sharing. hope you keep make a good video. xo
Thank you 😍😍😍😍
Thank u for the inspiration :) one new subscriber here 😍
Thanks Pearl 💗
I love the F-bombs dropped every now and then. Never heard it done before in any tutorial. Everyone is so proper. Subscribing!
Possibly I’ve offended a few people but I’m just being me :)
Hello! Thank you for the useful video. I'm full of inspiration! please, share with us, what kind of gauge of jump rings do you use for secure connection? ♥ ❤ ♥ Thank you one more time!
Helga Richie sorry I’m not up on gauges 😂
Thoroughly enjoyed your tutorial...very entertaining as well. I look forward to the next one. Could you please tell me where you get your cutters from ?? I'm a newbie at this and don't have all the cutters yet. Thank you
Thanks! I’m going to do a cutter review and chat video very soon! I will talk about all the different types!
I love it! I just started to work with polymer clay and I love it! Can I ask what kind of surface (if that's the good word) you use? I was using a glass plate, but it was so sticky and hard to get it off. Hope you can help me!
Fleur van Snippenberg Hi Fleur, flat ceramic tiles are good.
A women obsessed with stripes, makeing stripes all while wearing stripes! Ha Ha
Love your video! I'm also a big fan of stripes and pock a dots!
Yes please for more videos about the cutters, I find finding ones without ridges very difficult! I also currently cut with gladwrap to get “pillowy” edges but maybe it’s overkill, at any rate, it’s super fiddly and I think it’s time I should stop... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I definitely will! I’m super passionate about quality cutters! It’s never over kill babe if you love it!
Wonderful tutorial. Very nice jewelry. Where did you have the earring cards made?
Elizabeth Ferguson vista print
I've just found you and your tutorials! Amazing! I can't wait to see more, especially to do with sanding. Can you please tell me what size cutter you are using for the white and black clay? Thank you xx
Amazing! What type of oven please ? .This is seriously the best stripe tutorial I've ever seen ❤ I love you don't speed everything up x
Miff L Just a bench top oven you can use your home oven too!
More videos please
On it :)
Would you be able to let us know where you buy some of your supplies from such as the drill and the metal pieces? Really enjoy your videos
Suppliers in Australia - Over the Rainbow, Jewellery Supplies Co, Bunnings (Hardware Store)
Hello, may I know if it is normal for the clay to be rubbery after baking? Thank you! 🤗
Polymer clay will generally be a little bit flexiable if it is cured well!
hahaah "they look f-in amazing" .... hahaha
is it possible to roll both sides of the clay with the stripes without staining the white with the black colour?
Hi darling! Love your videos ❤️
I looked for your video on cutters but didn’t see anything. I’m infested in learning more about where you get your cutters from. Some are just awful! TIA
Please please, when you can, please link your supplies, it helps so much! ❤️
If I missed it please disregard. I would love to know how you make the dotted clay also. Are you going to do a video?
Polly I love all your designs! I follow you on Instagram and your amazing! I'm just starting out and am struggling to find the best way to attach earring post. Could you make a video showing how you do it or different ways you like to? Any feedback would be awesome😁
I have the same question, I’m new to it too and I put them on with the sculpted bonding solution but they fall off. Thanks for asking this.
why didn't you show how to make the the first clay cutting? I love those earring with the first 4 colors.
I had already made it 🤷♀️
Nice! Do you use any type of varnish or would you recommend applying this?
Hi Polly...these are amazing! Where can I get the spacers you use. I haven't been able to find them.
Depth Guides - I designed and developed them, you can get them from Blackbird and Violet
Hello, which brand is your oven?
It’s a crap brand because it’s now at the tip 🤭 it was from Kmart. I now use my home oven!
❤
I made a bunch of 16mm beads and when I drilled the holes, they split. Help!
I don’t drill holes I always add them before curing.
Hoping for more vid
