    This is the first video I have watched on utube that shows clay actually cut from the block. As someone who has never used clay, I wanted to know about how many projects I could get out of a 2oz clay. But no one shows how much of the block they use. Thank you for that. Subscribed!

      Fiona Abel Smith is a polymer clay artist that gives the amounts of clay she uses in her projects. And really depending on how you work and the types of projects you do will determine how far your clay goes. Various techniques will use different amounts of clay as well as whether you are making jewelry, making canes, sculpting figurines, etc. If you are new to clay, you should give yourself leeway to experiment to find your preferred way of working and not be afraid to have some failures that "waste" clay.

      Yeah, some colors like purple and pink tend to darken when they bake. Especially when they’re combined.

    Omg those are so fun!! and super helpful video :D question - would u recommend any sort of sealant for the clay after the baking or are they fine without? thanks in advance!

      @greatestoftheseco7473  Před 3 lety

      Hi! Thank you so much for watching. You do not have to seal your clay, unless you add glitter or paint. You absolutely can use Sculpey glaze if you want though. ❤️

    These are so pretty! I'm definitely going to try some swirl earrongs now. :) but E6000 is a terrible glue to use for earrings. It will pull right off! Gorrilla super glue gel is the best I've found.

      Hailey Radigan There are guides you can buy, but I pretty much eyeball it. Or I’ll use my pasta machine and run it through, to get it even.

    I struggle with marbling. My colours keep blending and making a new colour. Any advice?

    • @greatestoftheseco7473
      @greatestoftheseco7473  Před 3 lety +1

      What colors are you using? You may have to twist a little less, or add a white. If I’m using colors that can bleed, I try to add white in between those. You also might be over conditioning your clay, and mixing too much. I hope this helps! It’s hard for me to know exactly when I can’t see your technique.

    I purchased the sculpey lll ...do you think that l can do earrings and rings with this brand?? People been saying is not so good l having hard time to understand the difference between Clay's brands and names...please anyone can answer my question please!!!..l need help to start and l do not want my pieces break..thanks..love it

    • @greatestoftheseco7473
      @greatestoftheseco7473  Před 3 lety +1

      You absolutely can! It just takes more work to get it to bake without bubbles. Sculpey lll is a lot softer, which makes it harder to condition because the more you handle it, the softer it becomes. Sculpey soufflé and premo are my favorites. I hope this helps! Good luck with your jewelry! ❤️

      I use sculpey III too, I do hear a lot of people saying it’s not good to work with but mine is fine. It is really soft but usually I make it work. I bake mine at 275 for 20 minutes. I’ve found that the shorter I bake it for the more brittle and easier it is to break after cooling. Hope this helps!
