    Was the bottom layer of the slab translucent clay? Could you have used purple colored clay instead of coloring the translucent clay purple?

    What you put under the clay on the tray before bake?
    And do you put also resin all on the back piece or around the earing piece only to contact well?

    • @TheCloverPatchClayCompany
      @TheCloverPatchClayCompany  Před 2 lety

      Thank you! We bake our pieces on a ceramic tile as they are heat proof. We add resin to the fronts of our earrings and then we also usually add a little resin on the back to help secure the metal backing. We do not add resin to the sides:)

    Hi can I ask when the alcohol ink is dry, do you mix that one sheet of colour together as it seems to be all one colour. Thanks you 💜

    • @TheCloverPatchClayCompany
      @TheCloverPatchClayCompany  Před rokem +1

      I'm not totally sure what you're asking but I *think* you're asking if I mixed the slabs once the ink dried? The answer is yes once the ink is dry I mix the separate little slabs individually to get an even distribution of color :)

      We buy from Etsy mainly but have also ordered from Ali Xpress, just be careful to look at the reviews on Ali Xpress since the quality can be a bit iffy. Thanks so much for watching!!

    • @marialicatese9838
      @marialicatese9838 Před 2 lety

      @@TheCloverPatchClayCompany ok,thank you! What quality should I be looking for? I’m kinda new at this. I’ve bought some at hobby lobby or Michaels and they usually just say nickel free. Would you be able to provide the Etsy link when you use that product for us?

    • @TheCloverPatchClayCompany
      @TheCloverPatchClayCompany  Před 2 lety +2

      Nickel free is a great thing to look for as well as hardware that claims it is hypoallergenic. Products from Michaels are usually totally fine:) Everyone's ears have different sensitivity levels so what might be totally fine for someone may give someone else a reaction so it can be a bit tricky, any hardware we get we like to test in our own ears (and keep that particular pair for ourselves of course) and wear it for a while to make sure its good quality. We bought all of our hardware in bulk off of Esty months ago before we started doing tutorials so unfortunately those listings are long gone, but in the future if we purchase more we will be sure to provide the links!

    Hi, I loved this tutorial! However, am I right to understand you ran your slab through the pasta machine after adding mica and gold leaf? If so, didn’t it ruin the rollers of your pasta machine? I’m worried it would with mine, but I’d love to try this out.

    • @TheCloverPatchClayCompany
      @TheCloverPatchClayCompany  Před 2 lety

      Apologies for the late reply! Yes we run it through after we add all the mix ins:) We haven't found that its made too much of a mess, nothing a quick wipe with a paper towel can't clean up.

    Does the resin not crack when you drill holes in it?

    • @claycutter
      @claycutter Před rokem +1

      a lil cracking might occur but i usually drill holes after resin dries and i use a smaller/thinner hole drill

    Can we use acrylic paint instead of that ink
    Thingy you use lol

    • @TheCloverPatchClayCompany
      @TheCloverPatchClayCompany  Před rokem

      Yes! The reason I use alcohol ink is because it works well with dying the clay whilst keeping the translucency if that makes sense. If you add regular colored sculpey its not translucent so it can effect the amount of light you'll have shining through.

    • @TheCloverPatchClayCompany
      @TheCloverPatchClayCompany  Před 2 lety

      We buy all of our cutters on Etsy. Most of ours have been accumulated over the years so unfortunately the listings to the exact cutters we use do not exist anymore, but if you search "polymer clay earring cutters" you will find a HUGE variety to choose from!
