It’s a copyright thing. Copyright owners flag videos and force channels to either remove the video or remove the copyrighted content from it. They likely edited in the blurs after the video was uploaded because they got a notification from CZcams saying that the content from x time to y time violated someone’s copyright claim.

Refs have been really effecting the outcome of games since fantasy football got popular. There’s a lot of money in fantasy sports and since it got popular offenses seem to get bailed out constantly. Before fantasy football defensive holding was almost unheard of but now it’s called all the time especially on 3rd downs that aren’t converted when a big name like Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady are involved. Fantasy football has hurt the real game and I see it as an abomination!

The Chiefs-Eagles call: You showed the latter part of the play, AFTER the actual grab that held Smith-Shuster up. Like the official in the booth said, "If you could see the FIRST PART of the play, you will clearly see the hold." He was cut off after that, and Greg Olsen Only was heard thereafter to villainize the referee. One step was enough to catch that pass, consider where the ball was thrown, S-Shuster's angle and height to reach up and catch the pass. Two TD's by Kansas City, UNTOUCHED BY 10-15 yards of that vaunted Eagles defense, you'd think would make us yell about the holding call a bit less loudly, and less ignorantly. You would think.

That is true, I noticed that error as well. However, there’s a more important point to be made there. Defensive holding is only a foul if it occurs 5+ yards beyond the line of scrimmage. And neither of the two points in that route where people who defended the call say Bradberry was holding are beyond 5 yards. The angle they showed in the replays where they zoom in on Bradberry’s hand doesn’t make it obvious, but if you watch the all 22 angle you’ll see pretty clearly that at that point in the route they are still 2-3 yards short of being 5 yards past the line of scrimmage.
And even more importantly than that, let’s just be honest, it had no effect on the outcome of that play and should not have decided the outcome of that game. It completely ruined what would have been one of if not the single greatest Super Bowl of all time. One official threw the only defensive holding call of the entire game, breaking with the precedent he had set throughout the game of letting the receivers and corners play, and at the only possible time where he could throw a flag that would guarantee the Chiefs a win, he threw it. That is beyond suspicious to me. Someone should be investigating that son of a bitch to see if any of his friends just so happened to be betting on the game or something, because there’s no rational explanation for his behavior other than malice or stupidity. He should be fired.

2:00 "What kind of reform would you like to see..." In the XFL, this play would have been reviewed by the offsite review ref and overturned. What I would like to see is a combination of the XFL and USFL rules for reviews:
1- *ANYTHING* can be requested for review. (XFL)
2- You get one review for free, right or wrong. (USFL)
3- After the first review, if you request a review, and the call stands or is confirmed, the team that calls for the review gets a delay of game penalty. (USFL)
4- inside the two minute warning of both halves, all reviews are booth reviews, but can be *anything.* (Both for the timing, XFL for the "anything")
5- Booth reviews can be initiated without a challenge at the discretion of the booth reviewers. No penalties are incurred for booth initiated reviews. (Both)
This rule set would have definitely gotten the call in Rams-Saints overturned, the D.P.I. called (at the least) and gave Saints a new set of downs on the spot, which would have been 1st and goal from the two. I'm not a Rams or Saints fan, but that call is just plain wrong!

Plus the Chiefs had a TD taken from them in that game when a fumble was ruled an incompletion and even despite that they still won. Mahomes never through an unintentional incompletion in the second half of the SB… the Eagles top tier defense was literally destroyed by Mahomes and Reid. They stopped NOTHING. That’s why they lost. It was clearly a catch, the announcers said it was a catch. Yet it was ruled in complete. So instead of getting a new set of downs inside the ten the Eagles had to settle for a field goal. On that KC vs PHL play, if you are going to try to claim the foul was "light", at least don't be a pansy and withhold the clip that shows the shirt of the receiver being pulled about a foot away from his body while trying changing directions. Without the hold, the defender is beat like a red headed step child and it is very likely an east TD. That play was an example of outstanding officiating, not bad officiating.

  • @samuelzuleger5134
    @samuelzuleger5134 Před 9 měsíci +10

The one call I hate isn't necessarily one moment or game, but a specific call/penalty: Roughing the Passer. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of targeting or cheap shots on defenseless QBs. However, after the bounty scandal and a few high profile QB injuries (a Tom Brady knee, BountyGate and Favre, Vikings/Packers 2017 when Barr fell on Rodgers, etc.), the refs now call Roughing the Passer for every damn hit. Hell, outside linebackers with sack lists a mile long became some of the most penalized players on the field because just touching the QB could be 15 yards for doing what they had been doing since the forward pass was allowed. The rule used to be unnecessary roughness or hitting a QB who didn't have the ball at all. Now, if you push a QB too much, even if they have the ball and don't fall down, you can get called. Just put them in red shirts all the time so everyone knows not to hit them before the line of scrimmage.
Just as bad is that they basically did the same thing for receivers catching the ball, but screw RBs. If a receiver gets hit a little too hard while catching the ball, its a penalty, but if you powerbomb a RB and then sit on them, no call.
Since you can't sack QBs or hit receivers too hard, but can absolutely destroy a RB, the running game is basically useless compared to passing, since sacks and hard tackles on perennial QBs and receivers could gain you 15 yards, while your RB is going to be hobbled in 3-6 years anyway.

Agreed!! My favorite one is where the Chief's D-lineman actually stripped the QB of the ball and then fell on top of the QB. The D-lineman even braced himself and didn't put the full weight on him.
Best part.....since the Chief's player had the ball, it was technically the QB who "tackled" the Chief's player. Yes, the Chief's got a roughing the passer penalty in favor of a person who didn't have the ball (ergo not the passer) and actually is the one who technically tackled (downed) the Chief's player.

Lesser known situation: Bills at Texans. Wild card weekend. 2019 season.
Bills kick off. The returner, in the endzone, just flips the ball away after catching it. The Bills recover it in the endzone for a touchdown. Correctly called on the field. Cheesy touchdown for the Bills, but correct by rule.
The returner was intending to "give himself up," but by rule, a player must go to the ground or take a knee. He did neither, so the referee on the field correctly ruled it a fumble that the Bills recovered.
Then, a random person from the sideline in a black coat (probably a substitute official) sprinted onto the field and talked to the referee. After the discussion, the call was incorrectly changed to a touchback. Direct rule violation, not even a judgement call.
Never seen an off field official come on the field like that before, much less to actually turn a correct call into a wrong call.
The game went to OT so this directly effected the outcome of the game. Being the Texans and the Bills of that time, it was largely ignored, but it is hugely scandalous.
    Edit: Rule 7, Section 2, Article 1.
when a runner declares himself down by:
falling to the ground, or kneeling, and clearly making no immediate effort to advance.

They need to completely revamp their penalty and enforcement system. Many of the penalties result in anti-competitive outcomes such as roughing the passer and accidentally grabbing the face mask are automatic first downs. A better system would be something like in football where they give cards, so an egregious penalty could result in that player being kicked from the game, and maybe play 1 player down for the rest of the quarter or something.
    Food for thought

It wasn't what you showed (and what they kept showing after the play). It actually took place in the same play before that, much closer to the line of scrimmage. A clear hold pulling back of the jersey. That's why the defender admitted it and expected the call. Watch it again - definitely enough to keep JuJu from making the catch.
