You get right to the point without a 5 minute preamble. Good job!
Agreed, good video
Can't tell you how many clips I've broken over the years of removing panels on my cars. I could have used this video 40 years ago. Thanks for sharing.
Had to replace a seatbelt in my car, this video helped a lot in locating the connection points and possible set screws. Thanks!
Thanks for the nuance. Now, for everyone else, get your panels and trim off and take a damn picture either for you or the next owner. What incredible value to know exactly what's behind the curtain.
very nice, thanks for not wasting 30 minutes telling how you grew up ... straightforward, excellent examples, good camera work and sound was good. Other examples like getting into a dash, instrument cluster, radio/infotainment, etc. would be great!
Thanks! Straight to the point! No rambling!
Exactly what I was looking for. Great video, thanks! I have my trim tool removal kit, now I'm ready to head out to my car.
I feel braver now. I hate it when I break stuff when I'm trying to fix somethng. Thank you
The best and most intelligent way to use panel removal tools video I've seen.
I love your heart dude. What you said at the end about sharing knowledge and helping each other out is awesome. Keep it up man
This is such a professionally made video, with excellent narration easy to follow, which takes the mystery out of removing panels. Most people take one look at panels and feel defeated before they begin, wondering how the heck are they put on and how can they be removed? Obviously, when no fasteners are visible, the panels must be held on by internal clips, but knowing where to pry is the question. This video removes much of the mystery and is exactly what I was looking for!
Very useful and professionally done video. I am soon going to remove many interior panels on my MX-5 to replace Bose amplifier. I feel a bit more confident now.. Thanks!

Do you use panel pops?
Yes i picked some up but the door panels have the longer clips and sometimes i have to use a needle nose for 1 or 2 of them..
Fantastic video!!! One of the things that I like about your channel is that you don't use PROFANITY like others You-Tubers. Buen video!

I was trying to fix a leaking in the left roof rail and a holder for the back part of the roof rack felt inside the rear panel.
Thanks
Thanks for the video.
Nice job, thank you. And if you don't have panel pops, two flat head screwdrivers, one either side of the clip, do a great job.
Professional presentation.
Nice video any idea on removing a hand for a Window winder in a Hyundai excel. trying to take to trim of to fix a window thats not going up. Properly
U seem like an incredibly nice guy 👍 Good video, Thk u
Great video.
Very good advice - inspect, feel around and simply try to pop it without breaking it.
Proper tool for the proper job!
Good vid, man.
Great video thank you. I recently replaced my dash on my 2013 Chevy Avalanche. It had cracked over time due to sun exposure. When replacing the new dash and having new clips installed, I noticed that the 5 clips that lock into place did not stay in place. I triple checked and made sure everything lined up and it did. The clips were new and properly inserted. However no matter how much I tried to get the clip to stay inserted it would pop up. Of the 5 clips, 2 stayed in pretty well the other 3 wouldn't. Any suggestions to this issue?
Just watching this video has been the most helpful 8 minutes of any youtube video I've ever watched(which is a lot). That's because, take a Hayne's auto manual for instance. Step 1 will say, "remove the rear console cover." Oooooo K ... easy for them to say. Not so easy for dumb me to do. Now I'm a retired electronic engineer and am an OK but not great mechanic, so understanding what to do is usually manageable for me. But what always gets me is "how to get at things in order to fix them." After watching you it all kinda makes sense, but before watching you ... clueless. Popping stuff off that I can't see how they are fastened really scares me. I wish things just used good old fashioned screws, but I guess they would have a tendency to vibrate loose over time, so that would be an advantage for pop-ons. That being said, I'll never get used to the fear of breaking things by prying on them.
It's a great video. If you would, I'd love to see how you approach the ceiling in a Hyundai.
Thank you!
Perfect :)
This is really a good video thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very good
I just received my panel popper kit. I have a Buick lacrosse 2012 and I'm trying to replace the 6x9's in the back. How do I know which poppers to use for each panel!?
Two thumbs up.
Loving the intro lol

Nice guy, nice vid :)
thx
Thanks...
Nice intro video!
been missing u bro
Great Video. It saved me from destroying my wife's car attempting to install a dash cam.
Hi Ed, just wondering where I can purchase panel pop tools as shown in your video? Thanks, Kim.
Any tips on working on a vehicle that is almost 30 years old (93 ZJ) - some of the clips are brittle, etc. Always concerned if I break a clip won't be able to replace. Is there anything that can help 'soften' the clips so they aren't so brittle? Thanks
Nice video. Right to the point without abrasive electric guitar riffs. All of this is impossible though. It's best to throw out the car and get one with what you want already done to it.
thanks buddy i used this on a vauxhall van. Used a phone repair plastic tool
I lost my USB in my dads Van that has allll my work on it and it’s due on Friday so thank you I hope it works
So I'm the elenrea near the gear shift that sliding door I think my bank card slide behind it. Any ideas on how to open that little door ams get back there ?
Hey man I've been going through your channel watching alot of your HHR builds I was wondering how reliable this car is since I plan on buying an 08 HHR SS also did the sound deadening reduce road noise and would it be possible to sound deaden the firewall so you don't hear the engine as much? Personally I don't mind hearing the engine but the family might lol
I just had my first issue ever with my 08 SS. Has 96,000 miles and had a leaky rear brake caliper. My 07 HHR 2LT had 120,000 on it and only ever had a rear wheel bearing go out. I sound deadened my firewall and the whole car and it sounds great. Though I made a hood vent and love to hear my turbo spool. These cars arent loud, factory exhaust sounds nice.
Awesome thanks man I plan on doing some cosmetic modifications to my SS when im done maybe i'll send some pics.
cheers bud
SparkedEd, any chance you know how to remove the silver molding piece that runs across the whole center of the dash ? Its shiny enough to reflect sunlight and blind me. I'd like to take it off and plasti dip it.
Depends on the car. Best thing is to look up Metra guides or join a forum or FB page for your specific car.
Thabk you
I'm not a professional car repair. Just need sometimes to fix my car. Just think which one should I buy, the metal one or the plastic ones? The metal ones 3 times more expensive. Any advice?
Hi, what is the name of the interior panel in the footwell that you remove at 7:36?
bro.... the side panel that the seat belt comes out of is detaching ... can u use a mallet??? if not, what can i do
I have an 07 Hyundai accent 3-door hatchback ........there is NO info online how to remove the side panels, thats where the blown speakers are. Ive tried pulling them and theres no screws or grommets at all. - Just about desperate and feel like giving up kinda. - Anybody have any advice. 3 door Accent hopw to get to the backseat speakers, anyone?
Do you have to use a Panel wrench like you have? Or can you just use hands and pry at the spots
Pull it the best you can, just be careful of cracking sounds.
Can you please show how to remove steering wheel for Hyundai Accent, it doesn't have any screws..
I needed this to stop breaking lock tabs...
Can you please make a video on how to put the panels back on?
I'm a certified panel popper now.
I need that “door well panel”, but for my car, mine is also attached to the outside “kickstep” with the metal Hyundai plate insignia on it. Whats the general name for that panel on all cars so I can find mine? Floor panel, door frame panel etc...?
Need to know the section after the kick panel(moving towards the back of car), and mine actually goes from the inside and wraps around and clips to the rocker panel.
Door sill, or sill panel
Who remembers the Hummer build wit the Rockford amps on the roof
I do
