Thank you. Your show is great. You tell it like is. Learn a lot from your shows. Thanks again.
I love the photos. Good idea 👍
I really like the still shots!!
Just excellent bud - that was a proper wander !! Them BW images, like all of those you have shown absolutely 100% nailed on capture the essence of SE Asia - Nat Geo aint got a tap on you mate. They are always very, very emotionally evocative. Hats off to ya.
The black and white photos really capture the life of the people from Laos. Well done in illustrating the simplicity of things in LuangPrabang.
Thanks Gerard
Yeah, I really liked that bit at the end, very nice
Welcome back to LPQ. A very moving piece of music at the end 🙏
Love your videos. I almost feel like I've been to many of these places before though i never have. I love how you stop in towns that the average person would never see in their life time. Then try chatting with the locals. It's so funny! I love when the pretty ladies invite you back to their villages in the mountains or off the beaten path to have a beer and talk. Amazing!!! Keep doing what your doing...
Good to see so many people without the face nappy!😁😁❤🙏🏻❤🙏🏻
Great vid mate.I was there in 2016 and loved it. thanks!
Someone tried to smoke in the toilet and the alarm went off and the booked??? Just asking ?? There is something about black and white photos that bring a different reality to the subject. I love how excited you get about Lao. Lao and especially Luang Pra Bang which a magical city and I have never tired of going there. It is the heart and soul of Lao. Thanks I'm trying to get back there soon.
That was guess John.. a smoker and bolted as soon as the alarm went off. Never heard anymore after that..
Yeah, Luangprabang is Laos' jewel 👌
Black and white is always the best. It let's the view focus on the subjects and not get distracted by vivid colors.
Vlogg Legend Todd Hales.
Great stills!
sok dii der
Cheers mate
Wonderful views…glad the moneys coming back into LPB🙏🏻
Hey mate 👋
Awesome video…I Love Luang Prabang and I’m happy to see it coming back to its rightful place as a local destination for peace and respect, though I hate crowds…I wish I could’ve been there…I love the morning market and eating the Mekong seaweed
Mekong have seaweed? Interesting
Another fantastic vlog, good to see so many enjoying beautiful city.
Loved the stills at the end of video, mate
Thanks John
Hey Todd, Didier from Perth. Beautiful video, you are my intro to Laos. My partner Wendy will be talking me there for my first trip, she's been there several times to teach and for weaving.
Thanks!
Todd,,that UNESCO site was beautiful! The woodwork? Phenomenal! What a large variety of beauties stepped out on this day. With the gun,,I guess that whomever came closest to farang tagging,,,won the day. Should have asked to check it out for a minute,,,cocked it and said run,,,run you little fuckas! I joke,,,kinda,,,gets irritating though. Looked like a fun day in L.P. Ttyl,,,Marlon
Once again LP , even though the festival is on , is a happy place - nice editing touches also - Enjoyed - Thanks Todd 👊👍👌🙏😄🍻
Love the black n white montage Todd. Bushyboy Oz.
Thanks Bushy 👍
What a fun time to be in Luangphrabang. So many people enjoying the festival's treats. Inexpensive and beautiful accommodations make it so worthwhile We plan to visit. The still photos of the
Lao People done to a beautiful music score is Simply Beautiful. Love this video. 😍😍 Jim and Harriet. P.S. What is the musical title and artist ?
🛁❤❤
Love the black-and-white photos. Adds sazon to your videos!!!
Thank you 🙏
Hi again l really like your videos and the places you visit..one tthing tho, guess no fines for litter, unlike Thailand 😢...lol!!
Oh i now miss LP even more, been there several times last was dec 2016.. Not so much changed except for the new train. Its so nice to strawl those streets. Watch the buildings and mehkong river.
we were just there , Luang Prabang and Vang Vieng from 27 th august to 30 th august , best stay yet , great bed s and showers , it was more exploring for next time we go, Train was impressive, new clean and ontime. It was a tour group and they made it so easy for first time, we might go back later in our RV - Monte Triton truck.
Excellent job! You really did Luangprabang justice.
Stunning illustration of Lao life, thanks for taking the time and trouble to share this Todd. It really is appreciated. Stay safe and well.
Thanks Phil.. hope you're well mate 👍
You're video production quality is excellent. I like your music derivations of popular tunes.
Thank you 🙏
A lovely watch Todd and Neenee, the back streets as well as the market. Interesting to learn about the different festivals. Loved the black and white photos too. Great work!
Glad you enjoyed it Carol.. Thank you 😁
Another enjoyable episode! Todd, pa sa 'English' is pa sa, and then- (sounds like) ann grit
Thanks Todd and NeeNee! It’s great to see a favourite destination of mine 11 years on - I spent a brief vacation in Luang Prabang in October 2011 after attending an international conference in Vientiane. Now that 2-3 years of health clampdowns just ended it’s understandable that Lao and farang visitors swarmed to picturesque Luang Prabang to enjoy its 3 festivals “jamboree”. The impressive new railway of course facilitates tourism and commerce. The old cultural and spiritual centre of Laos astride the Mekong used to be a quiet, fascinating getaway that one could easily explore on foot, bike or tuktuk. There was the exotic architecture, 30+ monasteries, Francophone guesthouses, interesting cafés and boutiques, even a number of schools of higher learning. Now Luang Prabang’s main road was transformed into a nearly unrecognizable morning market teeming with a sea of tourists, pushy commerce and blaring music. Of course, it’s important for locals and hill-people to have such livelihood opportunities. Yet I hope that Luang Prabang’s local traditions, charm and serenity of will not be lost through excessive tourism, commercialism or materialism.
I hope so too 🤞

Khao Padub din is( Halloween 🎃)!🎃
Great photos and just watching this video makes me realize that some people are ungrateful for what they have now because as for some people are so unlucky to make it out to the United States and still live their lives and not worry about what they don’t have and live happily for what they have
Ah Louang Phabang ! On ne se lasse pas de son charme vénéneux .Toujours passionants les reportages video de ce sacré Aussie Todd. You and NiNi get acquainted customers of Lao "Lot Faï Fa" Vientiane-Luang Phabang "kab-ma" connection. The company should give you low payment tickets for your faithfulness.
Lakhon deu.
As always, brilliant videos that go beyond description and the photo captures are amazing. You are true to your craft, mate. Thank you always for sharing a part of the world few people see. Stay safe and healthy. Cheers.
You're too kind John.. thank you 🙏
Wow That Unesco accommodation looks sensational but do you know what is the difference in the rooms for "Modern family" and "Standard family" ? Once again the B&W photos are excellent ... they really capture a relaxed and friendly people. Keep Safe !
Great photographs in the outro montage. Well done.
Not a fan of the sterile Chinese style station building. Has the train trip to LPB become more manageable, easier to book and get transportation into town?
Thanks Michael. Maybe watch tomorrow's video for the answer to that 😉
Great video Todd. I missed all that market festival that day - the wife went there without me! Also loved the b/w photography at the end. Hope we'll see more of that in future. And special thanks to Neenee for her explanation of Bun Khao Pradap Din 9 fruit offerings - very interesting !
Looked like a really great day to be "out and about" mate! 👍👍
Always great in LP 👌
Happy festival time Todd !
NeeNee tongue looked interesting on the train lol 😂
Todd time to add that “ the food in this video will make u drool “ we advise eating before watching etc…😉
The black and whites are great additions to the vlog
Farang food 🙀 Todd just have a donut
Todd how does the saying go ? no pain no gain ?
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
well put together mate
Thanks mate
Dude looks like you got lucky with keeping your head when you stopped to talk to those 3 girls. They seemed like they weren’t friendly and wanted to take your head off😂 Other than that AWESOME video bro!😎
🙂🙂🤗🤗😉🙂🙂🙂🙂🥰🥰🥰😉
Hi Todd, thanks for the great footage of the market
Quick question, what happens to all the rubbish left on the ground ?
Is that left for Government cleaners ?
Yes. I'd say the Nai Ban(village chief) has a team organized to clean up afterwards because it was spotless later that night 👌
@@NowinLao 👍👍👍
Great video Todd! I cannot wait to visit the homeland. You literally have been bringing Laos to me in the states.
Thanks!
Bor pen nyang 😁👍
Hey Todd, when is this festival take place? Not sure if I heard you mentioned in the video. I am planning to visit in June, any festivities going in this month of June? Thank you in advance..
Love the music at the end. What was it ?
It's actually a remix of Chris Isaac's 'Wicked Games'
when was this video done sorry if it was mentioned already.. coming to laos around october thanks mate
It was captured last Thursday and uploaded today
Man, I wish the organizers would have the trash bin along the street especially during the festival. Its just sad seeing all the trash on the ground.
Can take bullet train from Vientiane to Laing Prabang?
How much and how long does it take?
Yes you can.. Vientiane to Luangprabang in less than 2 hrs for about $20 US
Do the train leave from Vientiane to Laung Prabang? How much did it cost? How many stop does it make? I want to tour Laos but not sure which way is more convenient or cost effective.

@@NowinLao thanks, I'll check it out later.
I have thought about selling out and move to Laos but can't seem to find information about Immigration or staying there long term I know Vietnam is not part of the plan because of Immigration

Todd, the boy monks, as you call them, are novices. In Lao, the full word is ສາມມະເນນ /sa-ma-nen/ or more often simply ເນນ /nen/. This should be easy to remember because your wife is Ne-Ne. The boys are Nen.
Thanks for that.
Nen sounding like en or een?
Just like the first syllable in your wife's name. Perhaps it could be spelled /nayn/. It rhymes with "pain," and "rain" in Spain falling mainly on the plain.
@@Allagiti Oh ok. That's why I asked, my wifes name is pronounced Knee Knee.
Cheers
Oops! You're right, of course. You ought to know. Sorry for misleading you. ;-)
@@Allagiti all good, we finally got there 😉👍
Actually, You don't ask people "penh jung dein?" when nthg happens. You do so when some kind of misfortune things happen like someone bumping his or her head onto sthg etc....
Pen Jang dai is slang for "how ya going?"
@@NowinLao Hardly anybody would reply you back cuz as you see nthg really happened.
