    I just got done reading the book "the evil queen" the book is about how she became what she was and her life with snowwhite and the king. The queen was so in love with the king and loved snowwhite so much in the beginning and always did. Long story short her dad (evil queens) was in love and couldnt get his wife peegnant so he was visited by 3 witches promised him she would have his baby but he had to sell his soul. So he agreed and when the baby was born his wife died. He hated his daughter since always called her ugly useless and shed never have anyone bit she did, the king. So see when her dad died the 3 witches gave her the mirror and the slave in the mirror was her father and the "slave" would have to tell her the truth no matter what.

      Didi Luvs Wolfy Cortez the queen became evil becuz Snow White couldn't keep a secret that she told her. The Evil Queen was very heartbroken and then hated snow. Also her father did love her but was murdered by vipers that were from the evil queen. Snows mother died because the evil queens mother hated snows mother too and wanted her daughter to have the royal throne so she killed snows mother. That is how the evil Queen got power and became evil. (ONCE UPON A TIME)

    What if the Evil Queen is a Fairy Godmother gone rogue? She used her magic in selfish reasons, and other fairy godmothers or the fairy godmother boss, stripped her of her magic? But before all of her powers were stripped, she created a magic mirror, which would always tell her the truth, even when it came to the simple magic that was still left in her. I know there's plot holes, but I just think it would be cool if there were bad fairy godmothers, because not everyone can be born with a pure heart to help people when they need it most.

      That might have been a similar case. When the fairy godmother visited the queen after enslaving Snow White, she was told that she abused her powers of the kingdom. Feeling that her promised happiness was never fulfilled, she took the godmothers wand turned, her into stone (like in Cinderella 3), and created a magic laboratory in the castle dungeon were she would harness witchcraft to threaten those who oppose her.

    i like the idea that even the "villains" were also watched by fairy godmothers, at least at some point in their lives - it makes the point that it really ISN'T "who you are" that makes you evil, but how your environment shapes you. the unfortunate consequences of the beast's "gifts" and the futility of the "evil" queen's gift show that not even magical fairy godmothers can predict how the outside world might affect you.

    According to the book Fairest of All, she was a peasant that grew up with a cruel father who hated her because his wife died due to giving birth to her. In addition, he was a maker of mirrors and her resemblance of her made him resent her. A widowed king fell in love with her, they got married and she became the step mother of Snow White. After the king died in a war, she became more and more cold. In addition, a group of woman related to the king gave her the magic mirror (the spirit of her father) and magic spell books.

    They're not "godmothers." They're fairies. They only become godmothers when charged with watching over or taking care of a child. Fairies give gifts to people when they're treated well, hence Sleeping Beauty's gifts. It was considered polite to invite fairies to a child's birth day. Maleficent was the only fairy in the kingdom not invited, so she cursed Aurora as a punishment for the king and queen's rudeness.

      GirtheAlienGoldfish ummm, Have any of you here read Cris Colfer's "Land of stories"? in that book it exlains how the evil queen got the mirror, The mirror is actually the evil queen aka Evly's first true love, the enchantress cursed the magic mirror aka Mira(Evly's first true love) to become a mirror because Evly was the enchantress' slave but she found out that Mira and Evly are sending letters to eachother so she cursed mira inside a mirror and Evly was devastated and her heart turned to stone thus making her the heartless evil queen in the snow white movie.

      +Arikm7 *I* can imagine why the Queenwould choose such a grotesque disguise...Given her vanity, just about anyone in the kingdom -- probably even Snow White -- would have expected a more appealing and ostentatious disguise (like an alluring Gypsy songstress, for instance). Thus the form of a beldame seems out of character for Grimhilde. Sinister as the old crone looked, I doubt the dwarves would have realized the old hag's identity on their own (thank you, forrest creatures)!

    @catspaw3092 Před 7 lety +27

    I'm guessing the evil queen probably did have happiness in her life but it was taken from her therefore she turned to dark magic & being evil. That's what happened to Regina in Once Upon A Time she had happiness & love but her mother & Snow White ruined it for her. Although you can't blame Snow because Cora Regina's mom manipulated Snow into revealing Regina's plans.

    There is a interesting tought i had:
    What if snow White is actually a magic being (or a magic echantet one). Like the beast, the fairy godmother wanted to teach the queen a lesson. The queen already had beauty and everything you cqan think of but she was obsessed with being the beautiest of all. The teaching was that beauty isnt eternal and not a contest AND not only based on your look. So she created a better version of her: Snow white. A "relative" taht is not only younger (and more beauty) but also pure of heart. But the queen, only concerned about her looks never tried to get WHAT actually made snoe White beautiful. So she rather wanted to get rid of her and destroyed her whole life at the end. Meanwhile, Snow white was such a important person for the dwarves (who probably where kinda misshaped for the queen and were kicked out of her kingdom) and the prince that the fairy godmother granted them a wish and brought Snoe white back to life (as blue lday brought Pinocchio to life and turnt him into a boy, even if he isn´t a human being) .

    Hi! I have enjoying your Disney theories especially these ones on fairy godmothers. I just wanted put this idea out there that I theorize that the queen in snow white is a fairy godmother gone bad. She was tired of giving others their happy endings and had the selfish desire force her own "happy ending". That is why she has everything a fairy godmother would have but magnified and twisted because everything is out of proportion.

    Also, she is a great powerful witch and was practicing the Occult. In ancient wisdom, a sorcerer/witch had the power to summon spirits and talk to them through various objects like crystal balls, incense, or a black mirror like the one in the movie. So, the spirit living within the mirror enhanced her powers.

    @Ketutar Před 7 lety +39

    Nah... I think you overcomplicate things. There's nothing to insinuate the evil queen ever was a peasant girl. In my mind everything in DIsney''s version says she studied witchcrafts and "dark arts" and perhaps created the mirror herself, by capturing a demon or a djinn or some other spirit in it. I think the jealousy was the same kind of jealousy beauty pageants show, where the girls do anything to be named the "most beautiful", as if that had any value. If high school girls are prepared to sabotage, poison, even murder, their equals, why not a witch queen, a mistress of dark arts? Especially, when in Snow White's beauty lies the danger of her losing the kingdom to the rightful heir, that is the princess and her spouse.

    • @daniellevinson6975
      @daniellevinson6975 Před 7 lety +9

      That sounds like a possibility--Malecificent *was* the sort of habitual yet spontaneous sadist who would corrupt a vulnerable young woman [as opposed to the sort of villain the Queen is shown to be, who is self-serving and has clear-cut motives ].

  • @disneyprincessintraining2725

    My theory is that the Queen was once a fairy godmother that has since gotten out of control. That initially perhaps, she was a benevolent spouse, ruler, and stepmother, but maybe by getting married she was exposed to mortality, something many fairies aren’t accustomed to. That might have made her have a breakdown and become envious of her young stepdaughter.

    My theory is that the evil queen was once a fairy godmother, but was jealous of the ones the fairy godmothers served. She was so jealous that she lost most of her power, but she could still remember how to make potions and magical objects. But hey, that's my thoughts.

  • @JacquelynB_
    @JacquelynB_ Před 7 lety +3

    One could argue that by giving Snow White the enchanted apple, the queen became a fairy godmother herself. For, the apple and deep slumber led her to her destiny of meeting the prince and formulating her own happily ever after full of companionship and a love that she had yet to experience. Undoubtedly Snow will take her turn in the natural transitional cycle from "in need of blessing-to blessed-to bestower of blessings". I think the true lesson to take from these stories is the idea that everyone has life experiences and none are completely positive or negative, but it's all a balance of give and take. Ying and yang. It is important to trust in a positive outcome, while being aware that you can never truly know. Who's to say that the queen did not have an explanation from her perspective or that she was evil. It was assumed that the apple was given for malicious intent(because that's the side of the story we've been told); however, even if that were the case, she should get some credit for the resulting outcomes(I.e. Snow's happiness in finding her prince).

    I honestly think that the evil Queen was a witch, that turned herself beautiful to avoid any detection. The Magic Mirror was something that she has created. She saw the Death of the King's first wife, then she made her move. The Skeleton in the Dungeon could have been the King and he died of thirst. As for her being abscessed with her beauty, that could be her way of making sure her magic is still working.

  • @moyyzz
    @moyyzz Před 7 lety +2

    This is a very interesting theory! And as an addition to this I would like to add that this may be an explenation to why snowwhite didn't get any help from any fairy godmother as cinderella or aurora did. Because the fairy godmother looked upon how hard she failed with the evil queen and might have been to scarred of making things worse to help snow.

    • @IsaacCarlson
      @IsaacCarlson  Před 7 lety +1

    Assuming we dismiss the allegations of Fairest of Them All, only a remote chance exists that Grimhilde ever crossed paths with a fairy godmother. Queenie's character, motives, and moda operandi clearly show rancorous self-reliance, especially considering her determination to murder Snow White directly when oblique methods failed. Don't forget that her behavior and interests are narcissistic rather than borderline [the latter being proposed by Fairest of Them All].
    Grimhilde is widely understood to be a sorceress, you know, and that concept more than sufficiently explains why she possesses that terrible mirror.

      Her Mirror is surrounded with the signs of the zodiac ( if I caught it correctly in the video ), and she did make a magick potion, enchanted it, drank it, and it enabled her that transfiguration .

    Laura Catania had a good theory that maybe the queen was a fallen fairy Godmother.
    Maybe the evil queen is a fallen fairy Godmother just like Maleficent is a fallen or dark fairy. Perhaps the death of her actual true love turned her dark but she was supposed to be Snow's fairy Godmother. Instead of helping her she became jealous of her Goddaughter because she was going to have the happy ending the queen felt had been stolen from her. So she married the king not for love or power but to make Snow's life miserable. All the while she still thought of her true love. Maybe it was him that used to call her "the fairest in the land" and that is why she is so obsessed with the title. And with the king always pointing out how beautiful and perfect his daughter was it only added salt to the wound. So she made the magic mirror to remind her that she was truly the fairest in the land. That title was all she had left.
    Then as you say when Snow's beauty finally surpassed her own she snapped.

      See what you just did here is what the movie Maleficent failed to do. You managed to show us the backstory of a villain and make us sympathize with them. Where the Maleficent movie failed in making the same argument you just did, was that they tried to justify Maleficent's actions by putting the blame on everyone else. This does not make us sympathize with a character, it just makes us hate all the other characters. Your argument doesn't try to justify the Queen's actions, but instead shows us the motivations behind them. By your argument, the Queen is no less evil, but her evil comes from a very honest and very human place that lets be honest any of us could make the same mistakes. She kind of reminds me of people who dream of becoming celebrities because they think they will have true love and happiness, only to be disappointed when they learn that fame and fortune does not bring those things at all. Well done.

    I think the queen made the mirror herself. She proved she could do magic, why wouldn't she create the magic mirror? The queen may have her bitterness from the reason you gave, but the mirror was her creation to keep tabs on everyone so she could stay the most beautiful. Maybe it's because appearance matters and a prettier person would be more likely to be followed instead of the queen and she was power-hungry?

    I seriously love this theory!! Plus, I don't know if you watch ONCE UPON A TIME, but interestingly enough there is a Season 3 episode, "Quite a Common Fairy," where Tinker Bell (a fairy) believes she can help Regina (the Evil Queen) by leading her to her happy ending; but because it has to do with love and Regina is afraid of it, Tinker Bell fails and Regina goes on to become the Evil Queen. Sure, the magic mirror isn't in this episode, but...it shows that there is a link between fairies visiting the Evil Queen in her early days...

His words just as clearly explain the villagers' lack of visibility.

    Great theory! Makes sense!

    I think the reason the Evil Queen (actually named Grimhilde in the Disney version) is driven to treat Snow White cruelly and eventually attempt her murder is her fear of losing more than her looks. At that time, men were preferred to rule over a female heir. As the King’s only child, Snow’s future son, a male heir, would rule, and the Queen was likely acting as a sort of regent until Snow married. A sure way to guarantee that would never happen was to hide her away as a servant, possibly marring her looks and shortening her life through hard labor. As she grew more attractive and approached marrying age (then about 13/14), she became a serious threat. Once she attracted the Prince’s attention, the Queen grew desperate and had to act fast. Because she treated her cruelly, once married and free of her control, Snow would likely have her banished or locked away. She does in the Disney film, but in the Grimm version, the new royal couple has her punished for her shenanigans (and multiple murder attempts) by forcing her to dance in red hot shoes until she burns alive, so maybe her fears weren’t completely unfounded. By the way, Snow White was the actually the first Disney Queen. Upon the death of the disguised stepmother, Snow became queen by birthright of her own kingdom before ever marrying the Prince. I do like the idea of the fairy godmother giving the Queen the mirror. Like the theory that the Evil Queen survived the fall by landing near the healing flower and became Gothel, trying to stave off the old age her own magic created and living for centuries (Rapunzel seems to takes place centuries later in the same area...maybe the tower is all that’s left of the original castle), I wonder if all the fairy godmothers are connected. Like maybe the Blue Fairy is also the Enchantress who changed the Beast and gave him the mirror, also changing Pinocchio, maybe even the one that gave the magic mirror to the Queen...maybe the Beasts mirror is a piece of the Queen’s mirror? Maybe without the magic flower, the fairy godmother also aged and became Cinderella’s fairy godmother, getting forgetful as she aged. Or maybe she aged as people stopped believing in magic.

    1-Your theory makes a lot of sense in my opinion.
    2-Snow white is the most boring and annoying princess ever still my opinion hhhhh.

      I'm happy you agree! In Snow's defense, she is one of the youngest princesses Disney has created which makes her one of the most innocent and naive princesses. Thanks for watching.

      That is true but this was made in 1935 so that kind of princess was the kind of female that was most prevalent back then so her getting saved by the prince was what happened to most women back then they found their man and got married but it's sooooo different now that this story falls flat for many women.

      If you ever seen other movies from the 1930's women are annoying on them too.

    Love all your videos! Just a random thought. As you were explaining that the evil queen might have had a fairy god mother herself - what if that fairy god mother was an evil one which explains the evil queens evilness? The one character that comes to mind would be maleficent as she is also considered a fairy but is evil. Also sleeping beauty's story take place between the 1400's and 1500's and Snow White is said to take place between the 1500's and 1550's so they're not very far apart in in time! Just a thought!

    What if the Queen was in fact Snow White's Fairy Godmother? In your previous video, you mentioned how they can sometimes act in unclear and convoluted ways to give their subjects their happy ending. What if the Queen wanted to help her out of her loneliness, and what if the "apple" was just another magical object gifted by the Godmother?
    If godmothers are capable of handing out magic mirrors, then it must mean they have similarly functioning magic mirrors of their own. The Queen did use hers to spy on Snow.

    I actually liked Once Upon a Time where Snow White had attempted to help her achieve happiness, not knowing Regina (Evil Queen) mother was even more wicked, Regina had fallen for a stable boy, but her mother might as well be Lady Tremaine, determined to have her marry into wealth. Unfortunately her lover is killed by her mother, and she blames Snow White for ruining her happily ever after. I mean it got so dark Snow White’s incarnate used a death spell on Cora (Regina’s mom) because of how manipulative she was, and turns out Cora was a peasant who was constantly mocked, and even killed Snow White’s mother all because she mocked her when she was a little princess.

    In Serena Valentino's book "Fairest of All", It says that the 3 sisters, the king's cousins, gave her the mirror as a wedding gift. Queen Grimhilde was verbally/emotionally abused by her father, who blamed the Queen for her mother's death. Her father states that the Queen's mother was his true love, so when she died, he felt his life was over. He hated Queen Grimhilde because she reminded him so much of his wife. The voice in the mirror was her father, and he was the reason she was so obsessed with her looks and insecurities. It's said that the 3 odd sisters had spelled or cursed the mirror. After the king's death, the Queen went insane with the mirror, staying in her room all day, barely seeing Snow. I personally like that version better because it is so much like reality, where parents are the reason their kids think they're never good enough. I feel that way because of my mom.

    I remember Grumpy mentioning that the Evil Queen is a witch; I think the evil queen made the magic mirrior herself; like if she had the power to make potions, she could cast a spell is inslave someone and trapped someone in the mirror; could be one of her servents whom betrayed her. It could be an ordinary mirror before she cast a spell on one of her servents.
    I mean why do you suppose there was a skeleton in the prison cell? Could be one of her servents that have betrayed her. Like I remember the scene where she ordered the Huntsmen to take her out to the forest and then kill her. But when he tries to explain after being shocked to what she said, the queen warned him about the penalty if he fails.
    what do you think?:)
