An intrepid solving session Doc. You refuse to give up and keep going where other people would surely abandon the puzzle. Thank you.

Put the magnets into the other hole, then put the lid back on.

If you would have pulled on the lock while twisting the barrels, you could have opened it.

You have to use the lock with the magnet to get the little hex tool out!! Had me stumped for way to long also

I'm ok with being stumped...but I was able to solve without it, so that kinda is a design flaw maybe 🤷

Kudos to the designer for the precision mechanics. However, this one has 2 of the elements I hate seeing in mechanical puzzles: hidden magnets and combination locks. As a designer, it's too easy to add those things in to make a puzzle arbitrarily more difficult without adding any real problem-solving steps. Just my opinion though.

Great solve. Thanks for the video. As mentioned, I was able to get the hex tool out using the large magnet and the lock shackle. But you really have to coax it out. At first it didn’t move. You have to keep tugging in it. I also got stumped on the combo until I got a hint. As far as pulling up the well, instead of using the hole in the brass piece, I used the groove to put against the rod and pulled it up from there.

Free the Willy is a ref. to the movie Free Willy. It isn't off color, it was probably what he was trying to name it to avoid a copyright issue.

I did solve it, so I did discover that...you just needed to watch a couple minutes more 😜

What year was the movie for Free Willy? It was a movie in 1993.

How did you find this puzzle?

The combo lock 'solution' was _really_ bad puzzle design. Any solution should be self-contained rather than requiring internet access.

I'd love to buy one and have a crack at it (haven't watched the vid yet) but f'uck paying half a grand for a small piece of metal. P'iss take.

The puzzle hobby is expensive...take a look at the Excalibur or blackjack videos...those are over $1k, and plastic
