hi fam!!! enjoy the reaction to this crazy ass episode!!!! it's a wild one. just an FYI, we will be streaming tonight, should come by and say hello: www.twitch.tv/stikkerg
What time will you guys be streaming?
Sorry guys I went on your twitch account and found what time you will be streaming. Sorry about that
Poor Elizabeth Shue dies in the end
One of my favorite shows
Homelander's actor really nailed the plane scene.
He nailed all the scenes man xD
Eric Maddox most underrated show ever.
Anthony Starr deserves to be known
@@chadmunk11 Antony deserves to be known by his real name
Eric Maddox And Outrageous Fortune. He was great and funny in that
That dolphin scene is legendary LMFAO
I know, right?! It was like something out of The Tick!
The Deep is a asshole but he does have some funny scenes tbh lol
Adam Olufson its just like joke in interview with Elaija Wood
And with the spice girls playing in the background just adds to it 😂
yes
A moment of silence for the scene we've all been waiting on for them to witness.
FINALLY
Do Dolphins fly now?
@@claudiaakosta Give them some Compound V and we'll see...
since episode 1 man
The Spice Girls monologue? It truly is the best part of this episode.
The real horror of the plane scene isn't that Homelander can't physically save everyone, it's that he genuinely doesn't give a shit if they live or die. Maeve is desperate and she literally begs him to at least TRY to save some people, as much as he can, but he doesn't even bat an eye at a hundred or so people dying. After that Maeve is the one who is traumatized and keeps having flashbacks of those people begging for their lives, while Homelander just goes on with his life . He even says later "I'm the one who turned this whole plane thing around in our favor" or smth. He casually mentions the death of a hundred people as if they're nothing but a stain on his shirt. That's what's scary, that's what's truly horrific about his character. He could wipe out so many people and not even feel an ounce of remorse.
Just like a Psychopath
@@janemary8339 not just he is definitely a psychopath because he has no remorse and emotion
Nikki "Inappropriateness"
Steven "F***king Awesome"
Well, as long as everybody is on the same page 👍👍👍
sounds about right
The spice girl pep talk has to be one of the best and weirdest pep talks ever , butcher is great ^^
In an interview, Butcher (I forget the actor's name) said he read the scene and it only had a few references to the individual girls of Spice Girls... So, he wrote out stuff (I assume what we saw in the show) about each girl and asked the producers if he could riff like that... The producers loved it and he was given the green light to do it...
@@billstephens396 Karl Urban
The whole failed plane rescue was actually much worse in the original comic; the hijacked plane in question was one of the planes hijacked on 9/11, the only difference is Homelander actually did initially try to save the plane but failed miserably. He really did try to do the Superman catch but ended up flying through the tail of the plane, which sent it crashing into the Brooklyn Bridge instead of the World Trade Center.
Yeah Superman can do that with his fircefirld aura wrapping itself around the plane, but a regular super strong flyer cant. You'd fly through the hull.
@@michaelstarr7717 Yup. The bio-electric aura that makes Superman invulnerable expands to surround anyone/thing he catches to avoid bloody splatters or ripping it apart. Homelander is just a strong guy who flies. No field to protect anything he catches.
Not before destroying every persons eardrums on the plane and killing marathon when he flew into to try and change its course lol
I think the way they make Deep look pathetic is a kind of meta joke about how people (used to) make fun of Aquaman, before Jason Mammoa, of course. 😁👍
Well it's part of the point with him sexually extorting Starlight to gain more self-respect since he's the weakest link on the Seven.
Garth Ennis who made Preacher and The Boys hates superheroes. Every character is a meta-commentary on his hatred of popular comic book heroes.
Yeah, AquaBro the Bro-Man really fixed the role with his cgi shitfest. Lol
@@jared3868 You're an idiot. They understand them, which is what you need to do in order to make any commentary at all, especially meta. The creators of The Boys are a comic book artist and comic writer respectively.
@@erikjohnson3859 What the hell man? Seriously. I never said they didn't understand them. Where did that come from? Just because you understand something does not mean you have to like it.
Dude look Garth Ennis up. He doesn't like superheroes. He wrote Preacher and The Boys to be counterculture to the traditional superhero comics of Marvel and DC.
Don't call someone an idiot when you don't know what you're talking about.
The dolphin scene was both hilarious & horrific. I love this show.
Not gonna lie, the dolphin scene is one of the single most hilarious things I’ve seen on tv in recent years , can’t wait to see your reaction to that ^^
Edit: ok that was basically exactly what I expected, hope nikki is ok xD
They did that on porpoise...
the dolphin scene was sad for me but the plane one was hilarious xD "are you leaving us?" "what? no.. i'm just checking something in the back" 😂 "stay the fuck back or I'll laser every fucking one of you!"
During the dolphin scene I wanted to laugh and cry at the exact same time, and that's when I knew it was something special.
I had to pause the episode because I couldn't stop laughing. Even when he's trying to do good it always goes to shit for Deep. You're spot on: a truly hilarious moment in one of the best hours of TV I saw last year.
@@SuguRakuNiShiteYaru Since when Joker is sad? lol
The role of homelander couldn't have gone to a better actor. The way he can portray the most heroic person ever and the most evil person ever as if it's just natural for him to do. 😂 this show is a gem
Antony Starr, the actor who plays Homelander is AMAZING. You need to put his other show Banshee on the list of tv reactions. It's really good as well.
One of the best action shows in recent years
I love Banshee!!!
Amen we need more people to react to Banshee its in my top five shows ever
Wat wat wat? Another show with him in it......AND YOUR ONLY TELLING ME NOW?!? Oh well, I guess that tonight’s sleep gone...
Luv u ;)
Banshee is so badass~!
That plane scene with Homelander has to be one of my favorites from this season. So intense!
Homelander actor is frighteningly good, he can pull of the goody guy superhero look and change it to a total psycho in a sec, is acting chops are superb!
@@Neocoolzero I saw an interview and the Homelander actor said he didn't understand what look people were talking about and that maybe it might be something about him just being him...
True, he could have been joking, actors are trained to emote with their faces...
I love that scene but it's not even my favorite from this episode. For some reason Frenchie talking to Karen in the shop is my favorite of the series. IDK why it hit me so hard emotionally. I can't relate to either character never been taken or abused. Think it was Tomer Kapon acting as Frenchie. Mixed in with the fact that on the other side of him was a mute girl who probably doesn't understand english. Yet he was still able to connect with her for a few moments.
Edit: I saw now someone already said it. But I leave it here anyway.
Well, when Homelander said he couldnt carry it he was right.
We got used to see Superman flying with buildings on his hands, but this is not how physics works.
Even if Homelander has the strengh to carry it, his hands are still human sized, making a lot of pressure on a small point, tearing apart the airplane. He was accurate.
DC Comics or Marvel doesnt take physics in consideration at all when dealing with super strengh.
If three supes could get up under the wheel wells they could carry it but yea one guy? No
is is explained in the comics that superman also has a telekinetic touch that envelops whatever it is that he is holding ,so when he holds something that thing keeps it's form and he is able to carry it without breaking ...homelander doesn't have that.
True, but he probably could have just guided it by the tail. Landing it? Difficult. Also the evidence of him damaging the cockpit could be a problem.
Well that's true, but if he wasn't a psychopath he could at least try
@@Thorvir Superman does not have Tactile Telekinesis, Superboy (Kon-El, not Prime) on the other hand does.
One interesting idea I heard about Deep is that he used to be a really nice guy before he joined the Seven and then wound up getting corrupted by them. It adds an interesting angle to his “sympathetic” scenes. He’s a pathetic monster who used to have the potential to be so much better.
If Homelander tried to support or lift the plane, he'd either go through it or buckle it. No one part of the plane can support the rest of the plane, it would be destroyed if he tried at any one point.
1000thson agreed. Physics in Superman are bullshit. And there is no way to rescue too many people. If homelander flys super fast the people will be dead since the g forces would kill them. So if he flys them gently enough to allow them to survive he won’t be able to rescue but a few. This show is realistic if superpowers were real.
@@justin3594 fun fact, the physics in superman work now because they added a new power to him a while ago, he basically has a force field a few milimeters above his skin (so his suit takes alot to damage) and he can extend that force field to other people and things so they can withstand a fraction of what he can
@@Fatalbeast22 Honestly, they just used that 'new power' to explain his invulnerability and how he doesn't destroy anything he catches.
@@TimedRevolver yes, yes thats exactly why that added it.
@@Fatalbeast22 that is fucking lame, superman is lame.
I think of The Deep as kind of like the Jamie Lannister character in this series... right out of the gate he is a complete ass and does something unforgivable, but as you’ve seen from this episode the initiation of well executed redemption arc, but you still don’t know whether you can root for the guy or not because it’s not black and white.
agreed. i like characters like that. cause in other movies or shows, these kind of characters SAID they did something bad. but that bad things they did was just them probably killing evil people and feeling guilty about killing or something tragic. both Jamie and the Deep are genuinely horrible people who did something truly unforgivable. but they are still, whether we like it or not, human underneath. they can still do other stuff other than that horrible stuff they did. even good stuffs. iam not asking people to forgive them, hell no. i mean, iam not. but they both are great characters.
Some say he was molested by dolphins as a kid
the deep is trash
@@NikkiStevenReact "Someone's trash is another person's gold".
what redemption arc did you even watch the first season
the dolphin scezne still cracks me up, comedy gold
Homelander nails this role like no other. Simply amazing performance by Antony Starr this entire series.
This is the episode reaction I was waiting for.
The plane scene in the comic is far, FAR worse since it happened on 9/11 and in their world it was the Brooklyn Bridge that was destroyed not the Twin Towers.
The attempted rescue in the comic was equally as bad as on the show since it proved that while they had incredible powers they had no level of experience or clue of what to do in a major crisis situation.
I thought you had a plan!
Well, I thought YOU had a plan!
damn!!
Not to mention that in the comic version Homelander just straight up murders everyone on the plane
Regarding the airplane scene, the physics in The Boys in much more accurate than DC. Homelander has the power to lift the plane, there is no doubt about that, but considering how small he is, and how big the plane is, and also the speed of the plane he would just go right through it like a bullet. Doesn't matter if he has infinite strength, all he can do is just pass through it.
You know a character's a menace and no joke when someone decides to shoot themselves in the head rather than go through Kimiko's wrath.
Great reaction, as always. Thought you might like to know that the actor who plays Mother's Milk thought of The Boys as a modern A-Team, so he asked if he could wear a gold chain as a little nod to Mr T.
That Dolphin scene almost killed me hahahahahaha
Chinaski I love dolphins but I couldn’t hod myself and I laughed as hell
19:44 I think Nikki still doesn't a grasp on what is Dark Humour. You're supposed to laugh to how ridiculous the situation is with The Deep and this Dolphin XD
being a sensitive person for animals I was surprised she wasn't laughing, I laughed so hard during this scene I had to pause even if it's sad, it's the whole context is hilarious especially with the song Spy girls in the background it makes the situation even funnier and Deep's face is legendary.
When Steven said, “we got our first TASTE of what compound V is”
Nikki you should have said, so did that landlord wink
The odds of them finding the plane is highly unlikely, it crashed right in the middle of the ocean and probably sank to the bottom of the sea, Homelander i'm guessing knew this so he's got his leverage.
Yes! I have been waiting for you guys to get to this episode since you started watching. That plane scene is the coldest scene ever.
I *NEVER* get tired of this episode!
No way he'd be able to lift the plane. If you were Superman or Homelander you'd have to match the plane's velocity in order to travel fast enough to catch so it would be two objects traveling at hundreds of miles per hour colliding with each other.
This is the episode that Frenchie became my favorite. I just love how good hearted he is. That scene when he's in the shop talking to Karen really got to me. I'm also not sure she speaks English so Frenchie actually getting through to her even for a bit was amazing. Was the most emotional I got during the entire series. And why I love Frenchie as he could do it like anybody else and grab her in a violent manner. But he connects with her knowing what it's like to be taken and want so bad to go home. And wants to help her.
homelander trying not to laugh while talking to the reporters is very subtle but is insane and brilliant
New here. What I really like about you guys is that you're genuine. No attempts at lame humor, no forced banter, you're just being you! I had decided to watch Game of Thrones again and come up with my own season 8, but instead of actually watching it, I am watching it through your eyes now, and having a lot of fun doing it
Nikki and Steven I just want to say I really appreciate your guys videos and I always look forward to new videos popping up thanks for everything guys seriously
honestly I can't blame homelander for not lifting the plane, he knows his physics
You guys are the only reaction videos I ever watch. You seem like the type of people I’d like to go for a drink with. Keep up the good work guys.
the most funniest thing in entire series lol
FINALLY this is the episode i've been waiting for.
I've had a horrible Tuesday so it's nice to finally relax, eat, and watch this!
Steven: But I know it wasn't real so it was kind of funny to watch a dolphin fly through......
Nikki: No n n n no....No uh uh No ..I wouldn't use the word funny
Now that was funny
The dolphin scene is the one scene i will remember for years and your reaction did not disappoint lol..
That's my favorite HOMELANDER quote on this episode: You stay The F Back Or I'll Laser you Goddamit
Was Nikki even listening to the conversation between Deep and the dolphin? That dolphin was a freak. You weren't supposed to see that accident as anything but twisted humor.
This episode was fantastic. I was all in from episode 1, but this episode proved what a great show this is.
Realistically, there was no way Homelander could’ve lifted that plane. He also could’ve probably given the passengers whiplash if he had tried to fly them down at high speeds. He was also trying to conserve his image, so... obviously he didn’t want any survivors
realistically? Really? About Superheroes? He certainly could exert a LOT of force on the plane without harming it, he just had to rip the nose gear doors off and grab the frame of the wheel well. Planes land too hard and break the gear but the fuselage frame is undamaged. So if HE has the ability to apply the force, the plane can take it. But maybe he cannot generate the force necessary. I mean all he would have to do is press the plane forward fast enough for the wings to generate enough lift to maintain altitude.
The Homelander actor must be having a ball playing this role. And I just realized I know him from another show, called "Banshee" - where he was terrific too.
Between Homelander and General Zod, for niceness, I'd pick Zod
Homelander really couldn’t do anything with the plane but he also didn’t care much about it
First love you guys, Great Nails Nikki.
This show never lets you relax, but so worth it!
Frenchy, the assassin with a heart of gold ❤️
Kind of this show's variation on Leon from "The Professional".
I need you guys to get to episode 8. I really need your reaction. IT WAS AWESOME!!!
You guys are the best. Thanks for doing what you do.
Keep an eye out for the fly thats flying around in a lot of scenes. Idk what it means but I've seen it a lot.
The show is GOT of superhero shows 😂
Nah, dolphins just have good PR reps, they're actually pretty damn twisted. Now if it was a shark in that scene, then I would have felt bad. Sharks get a bad rap (and are actually in much more danger than dolphins are).
I have been awaiting your reactions to this, my favorite ep. so far. This show is bananas, lol.
No spoilers, but in the comics this scene is even more brutal.
The dolphin scene, absolute best!
Bro Popclaw was squatting a lot more than 500 lbs. At least it looked like it was more than that
well if i have superpowers too, none of the terrorists/criminals will be taken to court.. they will go straight to cemetery
Great Reaction as always ❤️
This is probably the best episode of season 1.
the plane scene shocked me so hard when I first saw it.
At this point in the series I was making the association of the superheroes being equivalent to athletes. While they have talents and skills that physically elevate them over the average person, there is always the younger, faster, stronger person eager to take a spot away. They are also like the professional athlete stereotype in that they may have started off their journey out of love of the sport (or a desire to help others), but once they reach the pinnacle, it has become about the fame and popularity.
Fucking love this show, this is the best episode so far, that plane scene is pure gold, Homelander is one of the best villain in the comic book genre.
That Dolphin scene was PURE Garth Ennis
When the dolphin launched when I watched it, I admit, that was hilarious and I got wheezy when it got pasted.
steven "he cant catch it and guide it"....
SUPERMAN:- HOLD THIS PLANE
Amazing reaction as always you guys your are my ray of sunshine that helps to go through this quarantine love you 😘
Also nikki said Highlander instead of Homelander in the end of last episode
🤣
Homelander loves to show that he's in control. He did what he was told to do but in his terms.
Liked before watching, oooh this will be sooo fun :D
Homelander is one of the best antagonists/villains in a series. Nikki and Steve's reactions to him is just what I expected. I love it!!!!
My significant other got me watching The Boys.. holy crap!
Enjoy the ride!
awesome
isn't it
☺
It is awesome!
Antony Starr just nails Homelander.
I have waited for FOREVER for you two to watch THIS episode. Got out my Michael Jackson popcorn and everything...
did you know, that dog that was showed in Butchers flashback is actually one of his sidekicks in the comics?
Really enjoying these in my The Expanse waiting days!
Aight mates, it's bloody time to confess. Who was your favourite Spice Girl back then? I vote for Sporty Spice, aka Mel C!
Ginger Spice is mine.
I have a thing for blondes...
The plane, the dolphin, The Female, the Spice Girls speech...this is the episode.
So did somebody really want to see a dolphin get run over by a truck and then they wrote a scene around that idea? The look on the dolphin's face while it was flying was just priceless. So glad that I decided to give this show a try. Cannot wait to watch the next episode.
Ep. 4 of Season 1 was legit hands down my fav. episode.
This to me is one of my favorite moments in the comicbook media era.
The whole concept of lifting a plane while in mid air in order to stop it from falling is physically impossible. It just can't be done. You'd go straight through it.
Jesus Christ, Nikki would cry if a dolphin decorated cake fell on the floor. That was a funny scene.
That airplane scene 🤯. The last time I freaked out like that was "Hardhome" from Game of Thrones.
Homelander here wasn’t a dick, he was just not interested in the people in the plane and lazy, physically he couldn’t lift the plane nor pull it back cause the plane would tear apart, the thing here is he didn’t care at all.
I think that Homelander went to the plane with the intention of saving the passengers. I don't believe that he meant to damage the controls, but once the plane was damaged he formulated a plan that he felt would be most advantageous for The Seven and the company.
Nikki & Steven reactions: Oh My God!
"What if she's a spice girl?" Had me legit dying.
The Dolphin scene changed me. I'll never quite be the same again. lol
How about the whale scene??😂
No he can not lift a plane. Force reauired to do that is several times larger than the pressure the plane can withstand (area on which fore is applied is sequal to Homelander hands)
This version of Homelander is one of the best, most believable sociopaths ever portrayed in fiction, imo
He'd be terrifying as a person, the fact that's he's effectively a god is HORRIFIC. One of my favorite parts of the character is that you get the sense that his neuroses are constraining him as much as they are driving him to do absolutely monstrous shit - he's physically able to do damned near anything he wants to do with basically no limitations, but his resentments and feelings of inadequacy more or less force him into this very petty, relatively low impact lane where he's doing shit just to thumb his nose at people like an angry, underappreciated middle manager. The whole plane thing and the aftermath, like "HEY, I'M SMART AND USEFUL TOO! I CAN DO THINGS," is RIDICULOUS when you remember that he's capable of wiping out whole armies.
The shit he's gone through has made him able to do the shit that he does, but it's also effectively transformed him into a meaner George Costanza in the body of Superman.
in real life he couldn't save the plane. It would break apart. but he could have grabbed a few to save.
Yes!!! The episode I've been waiting for. I stopped playing Call of Duty right in the middle of a game to see this.
If you did it on multiplayer, 2x the kudos to you.
@@nutella_drifter it was but on plunder
Damn
👍
I think Homelander was just improvising once he screwed up the hijacked plane rescue. I don't think he wanted to go against Stillwell, or was thinking ahead of how to spin it... I think he was just a bit lazy in the cockpit in getting rid of the last guy and then was like, "yeah, we're done here" and probably then figured out how to go on camera and emote. That actor is amazing, isn't he? The character is a monster, but the performance is incredible. Love you guys!
Another entertaining video!! Great comments! Kids and animals...stay strong, Nikki! Think of that woman (listed as "the Female" in the imdb credits) who got beat by A-Train as this world's version of Wolverine when he was running loose as Weapon X. Incredible regenerative powers? Indestructability? I agree with you, Steven. I too think she is the source of V. And the dolphin was asking The Deep to "touch" them (don't know the gender of the dolphin) in a very "special" way! Maybe they were a couple before? It would explain the prank the 7 played on him?
Stay safe and be well!
Thing about the plane was that the two of them weren't even supposed to be there. They weren't authorized to act outside the US. From their perspective saving "some" of the people would've been worse than saving none, the government would've rightfully blamed them for the crash and dropped the hammer on the company over the interference.
One of the great scenes put to film.
Frenchie is my favourite character, so I am happy that he is growing on you :D
Great reaction to an awesome show
