Not to be that guy but GTA 3 was actually the first game in the series to be connected to a larger landmass, you just couldn't access much of it but it is on the map.

GTA IV's map was smaller than SA but it felt so huge

I watched a video of some guy counting how many people lived in each GTA game and Liberty city due to the sheer scale of the buildings and stuff was significantly more. I think when you were driving through manhatten the concrete jungle of the city just made it feel massive.
The new Vice City alone is already 2x bigger than Los Santos, but remember, Vice City isn't the only city coming to the game, the everglades, some parts of Georgia,etc. Are also going to be in the game/part of the map

One thing I wanna see with this updated AI system, is NPC's actually driving recklessly like we do. See them speeding, drifting in traffic, major crashes etc. It's always 1 thing about the life and world of GTA I have wanted, have more than just *us* the player be the criminal in the city, have cops actively searching for wanted people, just have a full functioning NPC criminal underworld separate from our story.
Would also be cool to see more advanced cop behaviours interacting with other NPCs. In V, cops basically only interact with peds by shooting them if they get aggro'd by the player, or the occasional pre programmed car chase.
this would naturally happen in gta sa or with YLTEICZ pc cheat
now that is a unique usa experience. they should do that. i want to watch chases on the tv.
That’s one of the features I most loved about GTA San Andreas, seeing the gangs cause havoc in the cities & streets was so cool
that might actually happen. There are a bunch of world events (random things that happen) that were leaked, and some of them pertain to car meets and cars doing donuts in the middle of the road, like in the trailer.

It will probably feel more alive than V bc after you leave LS, the map really becomes stale. I would assume in VI that even tho it only has a 60s addition from S-N, it would feel more alive from beginning to end. Plus the width of Leonida would still cover a lot of ground itself.

That excites me bc that means we might get R*s rendition of Atlanta, a city we haven't seen before in GTA. Im aware it was in MC3 and the partial inspiration for Cottonmouth in Manhunt 2.
Maybe a mission takes place outside of Leonida? Similar to Gta 5 North Yankton. I would love to see Atlanta and other cities in the southern states in the Gta universe
in the LEAK you can see a prison and it looks a lot like a real prison in Alabama
Not happening, at least not at launch. It might borrow a bit from nearby areas, but this game is Florida.
@@ACBYT Leonida is a Florida and Georgia mix at least. They are Mountains in the leaked clips and Florida not have Mountains. Maybe we will see Alabama and South Carolina places in Leonida too.
It's worth mentioning that the majority of GTA V's map was full of mountains, reducing the actual playable size of the map drastically. GTA VI's map looks significantly more accessible. This makes the difference between the two massive.
To give you an idea of just how big this map is going to be, the Florida Keys portion of the map, from bottom island, to end of the bridge connecting the mainland, is rumoured to be the same size as the whole of Blaine County ALONE
Hot take, but GTA V's map is probably the worst map in all GTA games. I get it that they were trying to expand on Los Santos and focus on that as a city, excluding San Fierro and Las Venturas, but damn, man, there's zero interesting stuff to do in the GTA V's wilderness. Anything north of Los Santos is not only a chore to get to without a flying vehicle, because of all the twisty roads, but also there's nothing interesting. Chumash has nothing interesting. Sandy Shores is just a respawn point in case you die nearby, and use the airfield. The Mackenzie airstrip is also weirdly located, with two airfields located one near the other, with a lake (sorry, Alamo SEA, a sea with the size of an average lake) in between. Then there's a whole chain of mountains that's super difficult to get through, a canyon that people barely remember and Paleto Bay, which is another respawn point and served its use during one or two missions, but that's basically it. Even the GTA SA wilderness looks better (and creepier) than in GTA V.

This tends to happen in real life too when you're speeding down a lane. It's just like how he described the GTA IV vs. GTA V driving physics: speeding is effective to get to places faster, but you need to be prepared of the possible consequences of speeding. And this is GTA V we're talking about, you barely even get launched off the windshield anymore.

When you named all the type of buildings around 4:50 and when you said mall, imagine being able to go inside a whole working mall with interactive stores to get clothes and stuff. Maybe get cheap jewelry from the people in the middle of the walkways. Idk a mall would be dope
Saints Row 2 did that 15 years ago. Even Vice City kinda had it back in 2002 altho not all that interactive. It's honestly crazy we haven't seen a mall in a modern GTA game

I will never forget the time I had a dude who got ate up by an alligator in RDR2 and tried taking him to a clinic which suddenly, I got knocked out by the first ever TB coughing fit. Outstandingly, the dude I was trying to rescue was in the clinic with me, and the doc was fixing him up and told me I was out due to TB, and found the other guy with me, so he took us both in. I dunno if that was scripted, but the thought that this happened so organically and unexpectedly has got to be one of the most realistic things that's ever happened to me EVER in all my years of gaming.
It's wild that they actually thought about side quests like that when the Tuberculosis event happens. The fact that they developed different scenarios depending on stuff like that is just astonishing.

when we look at RDR2 map, we can see they've spread many cities all over the map giving this map more life than GTA5's map. It's obvious they'll do the same for GTA6 because they know a lot of people don't like GTA5's map
Wrong. The only city in RDR2 is Saint Denis. All others are either towns or villages.
@@EarthIsFlat456 yes but there's more of these villages on the RDR2's map than there's small town on GTA5's map and it brings more life (basicaly on GTA's map there's 3 cities + the military base and on RDR2's map there's Rhodes Valentines Strawberry, blackwater etc...)

This might be common knowledge, I don’t know, but I noticed the other day watching the trailer that their is a car doing a u-turn on a freeway during the cinematic shot of the Florida Keys. Perhaps a showcase of the new AI patent?
I hope R* adds a paved racetrack instead of a dirt track to race the hotrings on. since VC is based on Miami, base the Vice City Speedway (concept name) on the Homestead-Miami NASCAR Speedway.
also the mountains took much of the space away from the gta 5 map because why would you be on a mountain except mount chiliad

I agree! Better than GTA V. In SA you get such varied biomes: three large cities with a desert and a forest with Mount Chiliad.

GTA San Andreas feels bigger than gta 5 for some reason, having multiple big cities is wayy better than everything being in 1 area and the rest of the map is dead, rdr2 brought back some of this, and it also feels bigger than gta 5, hope they continue the trend with gta 6

Starting the game in a smaller town then going to the bigger vice city would be so sick. I remember the feeling of going to the middle island in gta 4 for the first time and it was incredible

1:45 Games that did this before was GTA 3, Red Dead Redemption 1 and recently Red Dead Redemption 2. Rockstar never from what I learned never wanted to have an end to the on going water mass of oceans with any of the games except the ones I mentioned.

The only thing that seems off about the supposed map is that it is too plain, there is no verticality, the cool thing about RDR 2 was how massive and far away certain places looked, if this map is accurate then it will give the impression of being smaller

This is awesome. I'm curious to see what will happen in the middle of the map itself, whether it's wilderness dotted with farms or something more. It also seems like there are going to be a lot more longer stretches of road in GTA 6 compared to other games connecting everything together

I just paused it at 13:07 and traced my finger along the road from the gator keys to the very top at around about the same speed as you would see a car travelling at from this distance. I know it's not accurate and I know it's not perfect, but guys, it's gonna take us about 20-25mins to drive from one end of the map to other.

@@Elmasvergon highway cruising speed for the most part. Bare in mind you'll hit traffic. That'll slow you down. Constant speeding all the way there might take about 3mins off your journey. That's how big this map is gonna be

I would love it if they made an open world rpg fantasy, the way the world would feel so alive but applied to a fantasy world would be sick!
i think having interiors would just cause the same problem we have with gta 5, but instead of being a big portion of the map that doesnt give you reason to explore it, it would be indoors, like what would be the point of being able to go inside every building, besides that alone increasing the size of the game by insane ammounts

There’s a Airforce base at the end of the Keys so I know where to get fighter jets in GTA6.

I know it's crazy but GTA games which occur in West coast are more than double the size of East coast eg
GTA San Andreas map x2 size of Vice City and GTA 5 map x4 size of GTA IV's Liberty City.
It is speculated that if GTA VII takes place in Los Santos the map size will be about 30 times bigger than GTA VI's map (based on a rough calculation only).

More interiors seems like a great idea but I don’t know how well it would work in online when that is released imagine someone killing you then running in to a building to hide around a corner with a rocket. GTA players will always be gta players
