Moving to northern Nicaragua last year was the best thing Ive done. Canada is even more expensive than the US especially in Ontario which is completely insane now and where I was. I’ve never been happier and healthier than when I’m in nica and the people and hospitality are the best I’ve experienced in all my travels! Keep up the great videos! 🙏🤙
Dude that's awesome! I am glad you are liking it. Cheers brotha!
Yes sir, absolutely love it here! Cheers@@EmenseCoffee
I am from Estelí northern Nicaragua 🇳🇮
How do you feel about the government there and about your rights and safety from government harassment as a foreign national?
What do you do for income?
This is awesome…..it’s like a movie. Watching all the immigrants flocking to U.S. And Americans flocking to So. America 😅
I am 67, in 1977 my grandmother died. I was in San Marcos at school and flew home, Lares, Puerto Rico. During one of our conversations he told me…”when your hair is like mine you will flee to the south”. But, you should stay for now.
Here I am planning my exit.
I have been in the Louisiana since 2019, after Irma and Maria, change most, for me, I have two kids here, so I came to my mother’s state!
Any hoot, I have been stuck since…this little bird must fly…… 🕊
Looking forward!
😉🙌💕😂😂😂🍻
I live in miami and struggle to stay below $1600 a month on food lol
Expensive brotha!
😳🤔😂😂😂😂
My friend from Ontario Canada just purchased a large portion of a mountain and is building homes for Canadians. Im definitely heading that way soon.
sounds awesome! Good luck
Great video !
In the US we spent about $5000/month. Here in Matagalpa, with no budget my wife and I spend $1000-$1100/month !
Cheers my friends!
I'm a Nicaraguan born, I'm 74 years old, leave most of my life in the USA, as soon i retired came back to Nicaragua, so happy I did, trying to convince my grown up kids to come this way, but with so many bad propaganda about Nicaragua being unsafe, and etc etc they are not sure, other friends have come and frw have decided to move here, when they realize how nice the country is and the people, and loke you say, is improving a lot, I do appreciate your video, i have seen few of them before, again, thank you very much.
No more stress and running around. Merry Christmas to you and your family. 🌲🎉🎁
Thank you! I am glad you are enjoying your retirement. Cheers and blessings!
This is a beautiful country. I love the peaceful environment.
Yes!!
Thank you for loving my country I’m from Nicaragua currently living in California God bless you
Gracias! Thank you for watching cheers!
Another Nica here living in Cali. What part of Cali are you in. I've been in the U.S. since I was 6 and know little about the motherland. I wouldn't mind retiring there.
Toronto, I just rented my stupid basement for $2500. It’s crazy man.
Dam that's expensive my friend! You can rent a mansion here for that price
I realized you were canadian when you call things with no brains " stupid". I heard that in Canada many times. Thanks for bringing up the basemant. I paid CAD $400 a month for 2-brm. in 1988 with roommate I paid $200.
Hi
I live in Canada,
I’m Nicaraguan
I like your video is one of the few that I have enjoyed
I’m from Matagalpa.
Please tell me more about your farm I would love to buy coffee from you
I will be back home in Matagalpa at the end of this month.
Thanks!
Thank you so much you are awesome!
Great exposure on you cost. Why not do a video on your geographical area, and real rental cost, that would be interesting.
Good point I will keep that in mind. Thanks
Income is very different from US.
It’s my dream to take a sabbatical to Nicaragua for a whole year or if I’m lucky maybe 2 and just live happy , eat good and definitely hit the gym consistently with no other responsibilities
Cheers friend!
You’ll enjoy it. But as a Nicaraguan I would recommend you to watch out for the scammers at bus stops and restaurants 😃
I pay around 600 here in Kentucky west part 4 about 2-3 people but my daughters best friend she meet at work is from there and his family is there also still
Great info.. I never thought of Nicaragua as a place to retire in svrl yrs.. Thanks for the video

yes!
Northern would be which parts of Nicaragua ?
so helpful, thanks
I am glad you liked it!
THANKS BRO S IM FROM NICARAGUA IM LIVING NOW IN TEXAS
Goo Nicaragua!
I appreciate the channel and information you share. I’m from Seattle, Washington. I’ve been here in Managua for the last three weeks now. Many channels talk about the affordable cost, but I do not see it as a foreigner. Not sure where to find realtors that show local homes. I’ve only been able to find foreign realtors who charge american prices for the properties down here. Can you help provide resources to help people on your channel find accommodations as affordable as yours? Thank you!
And the internet has been amazingly fast year. I work from home. I can run multiple decides streaming without issue.
We found Nicaragua to be expensive as well! Basic food is OK if purchased from a market. You have to eat like a local. We found that most cafes & restaurants that had a menu in USD were expensive. Sadly, the problem is created by tourists & expats driving up the prices. It's the same in Guatemala. We are now in Paraguay and it's a lot cheaper!
Hi Jay! Facebook market place or encuentra24.com you can find local deals for places for rent or items for sale. Managua usually is more pricey, you would have to venture out and explore other areas.
Expat areas are generally more expensive, like in any other country. I found exploring outside of the tourist area you can find local prices which is fair. Cheers! Paraguay sounds awesome.
I greatly appreciate this! This put me light years ahead in my search!
Hi! How you doing? Hey! You are in Esteli right???
Awesome video. You are living the dream!
I was born and raised my childhood in Nicaragua and raised my preteen and teen years in the states. I live in Florida with my husband and two kids. Florida is so expensive now it’s becoming comparable to California (no lie). I would say that it sounds so desirable to move there with the low cost of living. I work in corporate America. What kind of jobs would you say are available for people wanting to relocate?
Hi! Thanks for watching. I would suggest find a remote job based in the USA and move. It's hard to come find jobs here.
@@EmenseCoffee yes that’s the number one issue. If you don’t have a job going there you have no income. I admire people that make the move but you have to have something to back you up.
bro, ive been subbed to this channel for a while, in my other account, sadly this is my work acct. but ive been living in nicaragua for the past 4 years, since 2019. you should do like a podcast where you interview different expats (young or old, since im only 31). im down for an interview that way you get different point of views from other people living here...im from houston texas by the way
Good idea!! We can make something happen!
This is my personal account, but heck Yea brother.. whenever your down just reach out to me. I can take a trip to Matagalpa to enjoy the cool weather for a weekend.
Im from houston also bro wanting to make the move as well to get out of here. America is draining my soul and im only 30
@@stayingfitandfocused YOU WONT BE DISSAPOINTED BRO, JUST MAKE SURE U HAVE A WAY TO MAKE A STEADY INCOME, WHETHER ITS WORK FROM HOME OR WHATEVER IT MAY BE. I WORK FROM HOME FOR A U.S BASED COMPANY, I STILL PAY TAXES. I STILL GOT INCOME TAX, ALL FROM THE COMFORT OF MY HOME HERE IN NICARAGUA. IM FINANCIALLY FREE TO GO AND DO WHATEVER I LIKE ON THE WEEKENDS. NOT LIKE BACK IN HOUSTON, WHERE EVERTHING WAS HELLA EXPENSIVE.
@@felixmasis6919 100% bro and Houston honestly is getting worse, they're wiping out homes to add another lane to i-10 lol.
Never considered nicaragua before but im definitely looking into it now.
Just found your channel, interesting. Been to Nicaragua once on a tour from Costa Rica and really enjoyed it. Good luck on your ventures from Canada 🇨🇦
Thank you! Blessings my friend!
You can find good housing way under that, I guess depends on where you're at. In the touristy areas they'd be more expensive. We have some houses in Carazo (thanks to my mother in law) and rent them for around $100 but these are in the city and more like houses next to each other, like right next to each other. Let's say apartments but stretched out instead of up.
Good points mi amigo!
GREAT VIDEO BRO!!!
Thank you for the video it was very informative. With the economy going crazy this seems like a serious good decision to make.
Glad you liked it! Cheers
Thank you amigo!
Interested 👍🏼
Thanks for sharing!
You are welcomed!
Gracias por la información.
Saludos!
😊Muy bueno y genial broder
Gracias amigo saludos!
I'm a Nicaraguan born and raised in the Capital, Managua. I'll only ad that usually in the largest cities food might be more expensive, since you are in the North, you are so close to where food is grown hence it's cheaper and fresher. The opposite happens when it comes to health services, I use the public option always and so far I have no complains, my social security allows me to use a private hospital (Hospital Bautista) for me and my family, no hassle, no major issues, however, I obviously recognize that ouside the Capital city the services are not as good and they lack everything, it's unfair as the deductions we get out of our salaries are the same in the whole country, however, I recognize that someone from Siuna or the "Mining Triangle" have to deal with poor facilities, lack of personnel or lack of medicine, etc.
Good point Oscar, thank you for sharing you experience.
Con este frío que rico café
Lo mejor!
I hope to retire in about 18 months. So, maybe I'll be able to visit you!
Sounds good my amigo!
wow you are getting a lot of views, Hey I'm still intereseted in green beans! Are there any Mayan ruins up there in the north?
Any resources on where to look for good rentals
encuentra24.com or facebookmarketplace
Hi , I do wish you and your family all the best .
My wife and myself are both seniors and don’t speak Spanish. Nicaragua is in our thoughts.
Your advice
would be appreciated.
Don't get scared off by language - I'm a senior, arrived on Noca 1.1/2 weeks ago & the only word literally I knew was Hola (hello) we have stopped with 2 non-english speaking host families & 1 family with mixed English skills - the culture to help others is so amazing we have had long conversations into the nights, sometimes with long periods before checking Google translate - Never to late to give things a go :-)
Thanks a lot
Nice advice Bryan!
I get just over $2000/mo in social security. I pay for food, gasoline, electricity, water, Wi-Fi, cable tv, a handyman, a housekeeper, feed 5 dogs and still have money to save . I live in the Jinotega department and grow coffee as well. It’s a hell of a lot better than that sludge from Starbucks. I’ve found the health care system pretty adequate. I get all my drugs for free. My only problem is in almost 5 years, I’ve only met 1 person that speaks English and she was just visiting.
@@Sammiejomitchell the north of Nicaragua is more rural and people’s economies is not enough to go to a language school and eventually learn English. The good thing is that people in the north is more humble and sincere, and if you help them they would gladly learn English.
buen video para un estranjero no es mucho pero para un nacional eso es una fortuna costo de vida mensual pero se entiende con familia no esta mal pero buen video
tienes razon hermano! Saludos!
Do you have an email for reaching out about things like how you went about getting your home etc?
Dude what did you for remote work ? I’m here currently trying to buy a house and a camioneta and move over there permanent and I’m studying to get a job remote.
I create content and starting a coffee business. Good luck on the move!
Where in Northern Nic are you?
That budget is for two plus baby, right?
What are your thoughts on police/politics? I know it's a touchy subject but most importantly since there has been unrest in recent years, is it safe for tourists right now?
Extremely safe!! Don’t get involved in the politic world that’s all. But Nicaragua along with Costa Rica is one of the safest countries in Central America. We’re moving back pretty soon, the kids complain in the U.S. is the school shootings, something they never worried about in Nicaragua.
. I don't about costa rica though. I know 🇳🇮 Nicaragua is one of the safest countries around the planet. The media in the U.S with the " bad propaganda" is what put the country in bad image. Imagine that with the internet and high technology people still believe 🇳🇮 Nicaragua is on cold war.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. How's stupid that?😂😂😂. The Soviet Union is still having a cold war with 🇺🇸 USA😂😂😂😂😂. Poor woke and brain washed people. On the other hand the U.S press does not say anything negative about the two narcos coutries costa Rica and 🇨🇴 colombia where safety for tourists is huge. In Costa rica hit man kill 20 people a day. Kidnapping and armed robbery happens on the daily basis. Beside banana ticos are xenophobic against 🇳🇮 nicaraguans people.
❤❤
Gracias!
What city or town are you living in in North Nicaragua?
Was the house you're renting furnished or unfurnished?
Unfurnished!
Are you doing cycling around your area?
Yes! I just went on a bike ride yesterday!
Is Nicaragua cheaper place to live than Paraguay? Anyone been to both countries! Great video… 😁
Good question, I am not sure. How did you like Paraguay and Nicaragua?
@@EmenseCoffee I have yet to visit either country, but they’re both on my radar for getting residency or living abroad! I also am looking at Ecuador, and the Philippines. Nicaragua has a lot going for it. I like that Nicaragua is close to the USA, low cost of living/Rent, and it sounds like it’s a safe place to live. 😊
We have lived in Nicaragua and we now live in Paraguay. We have been in Paraguay for 4 months. We loved Nicaragua - it is gorgeous! The challenge we had was the residency visa. We didn't want to do border runs every 3 months! It really depends on your work/financial situation. We didn't qualify for a retiree or rentista visa. We did actually consider the investor visa but after doing our homework decided it wasn't a good idea. The real crunch was when they changed the cedula (govt ID) for visa holders. You now need to renew your cedula in Managua every 6 months. Sadly, they don't tell you that on all the relocation websites & channels. Paraguay is very different to Nica. Lots more European expats here. The visa is much easier to obtain. The govt is very stable. Two year temporary visa that you then renew to a permanent resident visa. Paraguayans are incredibly welcoming and friendly. We also find it cheaper. If you want more info on life in Paraguay check out our blog adirtcheaplife.com. So it all depends what your idea of paradise is 😁😁
I just would like to know how you can stay living in Nicaragua after the 3 months visitor visa they usually give
You have to do a border run down to cost rica and renew your visa. or you can go to managua and ask for a 1 month extension.

Is rent of 250 month probable in Jinotega?
Maybe if you want a big house of course yes bro
Maybe if you want a big house of course yes bro
But if you want some cheaper u could pay 100 dollar
mannn but managua has gotten out of control in prices
Yea it's more pricey
was that a gunshot at the 2:24 mark??
lol! No it was fireworks.
Paying $160 month for health care thru my company for family of 3 right now
That's a good deal! what state is this?!
sorry I meant per week actually :( ,in Florida but insurance out of Georgia thru my company. We are going to be moving to Nica here shortly tho. Selling house, cars and everything!! going ALL IN
@@heathguthrie wow awesome! Good luck on the move! Cheers!
What job can I do while an American lets say via the phone or email, no pyramids or sale friends and family stuff
Just wait a couple of years. The dollar is about to crash. Everything will change then. No more cheap living for the gringos anywhere. The rural farm living in the USA itself would be the best and cheapest.
Any world compare to Comifornia is way less. You would be insane to live in California. California is not a comparison for the states.
Agreed! Let me know how it compares to where you live!!
You my friend are getting gringo prices with all that you’re paying in Nicaragua, anyone from Nicaragua can pay half of what you’re paying for the same quality of life.
To all this folks praising the good life in these other countries please pass the good word to all this people coming into the US illegally.
I do realize we are in a blessed position. Although I see everything here in Nicaragua, from really poor to middle class and rich. Similar to what I use to see in the US.
He’s is a white, privileged man. Don’t compare his living situation to migrants coming into the U.S.
Hey we’re is best online place to search for long term rentals in Nicaragua?
Sounds great and all, but how stable is the political situation? Ortega is getting old and he’s been cracking down on some religious freedoms.
You could be murdered at any time aywhere outside the first world but when the great financial reset or ww3 pops off nicaragua might be safer.. living out in the middle of knowhereis likely safer than cities.
We had a great country and a good president but your country belive that can tell us what we had to do. Our country it's good.. you are welcome here
There is a religious freedom. There is not prohibition if cult or mass. It is true that some priests have been banned from de country, but because they have been involved in politics ( not correct), but that it is. There in NOT religious persecution.
Are you hiring lol
lol!
This is stupid...what city?
