Good day Sir, I don't understand what went wrong but I'm getting 1+/ square root of 19 divided by 3 for 1.1, which ultimately gives me an answer of 1.786299648 / 1.79 and - 1.119632981 / - 1.12
same, it's because sir wrote a +ve 4 instead of 2 by mistake

Hi sir . 1.1.2 . The value for b . You said it's 4 when you were calculating. I believe it's positive 2 since -(-2) and not 4. Hence the answer will be different from what you got. Thank you

In 1.1.2 how did you get a positive 72 cause when I'm calculating it, it gives me a negative 72 and the answer is a negative 68
One thing about the signs on the brackets while factoring is the bigger bracket always takes the sign of the middle term

on question 1.3 what rule did you use to deduce that x=18 and y=6 ? In other words how did you cancel the bases (2 & 3)?
When you have same bases you equate the indexes
Actually it's helpful to treat past question papers .

Great video, everything simplified and straight to the point. 16:20 your reasoning here is not mathematically true. You can have a negative solution for a square root, for as long as the solution satisfies the LHS and the RHS.

Sir , for the simultaneously question, I used the elimination method since 4x and 4x are the same and I got y= 6 then I substituted to eq1 to get x and I got =-1.

Then the equation was 4x + (2-4x) to the power 2 = 8
Then it proceeded to:
4x + 4 - 16x + 16x to the power 2 =8
Now my question is how did you get 16x to the power 2

You can start by registering for matric rewrite at the department of education. Look for tutors near you and watch these vids to help you prepare for your exam
